I had a unique experience at Associated eye care. As I had called them dozens of times with questions as I was anxious for the surgery. They were always happy and willing to help ease my mind and answer my questions. I also had to reschedule the surgery multiple times due to outside factors. I never felt as if they were annoyed or unhappy to make the adjustment for me. When it finally came to the day of the surgery I was fine until I walked into the operating room. I then became nervous and even moved on the operating table as they began the process. Even though I was being a little fidgety, they helped me get through the process. Dr. Lane performed my operation and I did not make it easy for them but they did an excellent job at keeping me relaxed and talking me through the process. They also did an excellent job at informing me what to expect during and after the procedure. They told me to go home and take a nap, which I did. When I woke up I had very little discomfort and able to read the clock! That was a first in a very very long time! This morning I had my "day after" (post op) appointment and they were again, very helpful and happy to answer questions and making sure I had no concerns. The final thing I would like to add is, I was able to drive myself to the post op follow up the morning after the surgery!! Had no problems seeing and could see better than I ever have! Highly recommend this procedure and Associated Eye Care!

I think this trip may have been doomed from the start. I could go on for paragraphs, but Ill try to sum it up below. -Person who made my appointment incorrectly spelled my name and birthdate causing a delay when I went to check in. -After correcting the name spelling and birthdate upon arriving at the appointment, I noticed that my name was STILL spelled wrong when the doctor printed my prescription. -The technician rushed through the exam and quickly deemed that my prescription was the same. I told her that I had bifocals which she hadnt noticed when she first read the prescription and then said, "Oh thats not right!" I would have left with bifocals again and she didnt even go back to double check my eyes to see if she had gotten that prescription right! -When I went into the optical store to order my glasses, I was only greeted after browsing for 5 minutes and then was told to set my stuff down at a desk and have a seat once I decided what I wanted. -Once I decided, I waited another 5 minutes while the salespeople walked around me. Did they think I was tired from standing or something and just taking a break?! -When the salesperson rang up my order and told me the price, she asked, "Are you sure you still want this pair?" Giving me the distinct impression that she thought I couldnt afford them. Maybe it was just an off day, but I will still take my business elsewhere the next time I need an eye exam.

Astounded at how bad the communication is within this office. I have an extremely tight schedule, like a lot of people, but I researched which eye doctor I wanted to see before calling to make my appointment. I was not told until I received a barely understandable electronic voicemail a few days before my appointment that it was with a different doctor. I called, they apologized, and I kept the appointment. I arrived early as requested to fill out my new patient paperwork, and was left standing at the front desk for 7 minutes while the only employee took phone calls and entered things on the computer. After waiting 20 minutes past the time my appointment was supposed to start I asked how much longer and was told sorry, the doctor was running 15 minutes behind (which meant I should have been in 5 minutes before!). I was there a total of 2 hours before my exam was finally completed, and only then was I told that Id have to make another appointment to actually get contacts--the entire reason I was there to begin with! I decided to take my business elsewhere, and when I called to have them send my prescription they told me I didnt even have one, theyd examined me for eye glasses only! They absolutely wasted my time and my money, and while the actual medical personnel seemed competent enough I would seriously think twice about going here.

right off the bat i will say dr hickson was great! i have a 6 year old and she exceeded my expectations. that being said the biling for this place is ridiculous! i have the new eye and dental insurance required by law. which i am fine with. But apparently i was supposed to discuss with my doctor how i wanted to be billed during the consultation! what??? whith the Doc? yes that is right; i was told i should have discussed whether or not i wanted to be billed medically or vision. I was at the eye doctor why would anyone think they are going to billed medically for this, what happened is they found my child has amblyopia and now she has a medical diagnosis. Which is obvious why they would have coded my visit as medical and now the insurance will not pay because of the DIAGNOSIS. so buyer beware. I would agree the doctor we saw was very excellent. but the rest has been a headache! i was told that my remaining bill of $300 (that should have been covered by my insurance as a preventative appt) will be looked into someone will get back to me. sooo the waiting game continues!

Dr. Schloff is EXCEPTIONAL! We started to see her when my daughter was about 1 1/2 years old for "drifting" eyes. She suggested a series of conservative treatments in which we did for about a year to hopefully get her eyes to correct themselves or at least make steps towards the desired result. All the while we saw some progress, it was not ideal. My daughter is now 3 years old and about 4 weeks post op from her eye surgery to correct the "drifting". The results are PERFECT and better than my husband and I expected. I really like that Dr. Schloff didnt;t jump immediately to surgery and worked with us in a conservative matter. Not only is Dr. Schloff wonderful in the office to us parents, but she made my very shy daughter, feel very comfortable and not scared. She is also a GREAT surgeon! Thank you so very much for taking wonderful care of our little peanut. Were forever grateful!

I had an appt for my son at 8:05am. I arrived and checked in at 7:56 am. Plenty of time for an 8:05 appt. In fact I arrived in the parking ramp at 7:45am to account for possible traffic delays from Mpls. We were not taken back to our appt until 8:35am. Twice I learned from staff that they schedule your appt time 15 minutes before they intend to see you. Howrver, even with a 15 minte buffer in their favor they were stil 40 minutes late overall. So what I find here is that I was extremely conscientious of arriving on time and respecting my appt time. But I was not what so ever afforded that respect in return. I am very upset about the Associated Eye Clinic waiting time. I have spoken to the manager. Meanwhile, we are very happy with Dr. Hickson. She is wonderful, especially as a concussion eye specialist.
