Does NOT deserve its current 4+ star rating and I suspect employees/friends of the staff are writing fake reviews. Let me tell you about a specific experience here. I brought in my mothers beloved cat to be put down. The cat had been a patient of theirs for years. I was right on time for my appointment and there was no one there. After waiting for several minutes someone came to the desk, not to help me but to retrieve something. Apparently there was something about a horse out back. After waiting again, the vet arrives, shows me into a small room, shaves the cats arm, and then asks me if I want to hold her. All quick, and no apologies or explanations for the long wait for such a critical appointment. I had never done this sort of thing before and didnt know what to expect. I said "well, I dont know...." and paused, during which she just gave the cat the injection. Then, without saying a word to me, left the room. And left the door open to the waiting room behind me. And in no way offered her condolences, a helping hand in the next steps, etc. Because of some horse. I was left to wrap up a dead cat in a blanket and walk past the man and child now in the waiting room. I am so glad I was the one to take Cinder in to get put down, because if this had happened to my mother I dont know if she ever would have recovered. Shame on you. My other experiences with this vet include receiving no education whatsoever, having my questions barely answered, and long waits with no explanation or apology when I have been on time. I had hoped the horse event was a fluke, but shortly after I left this vet. My dog, who is also old, developed a cough. I took him in several times, and each time was sent out with a bottle of antibiotics and a shrug. It would work for a while, then run out, then he would cough again. Eventually she prescribed giving it to him every day. She had no idea what was causing the cough, or at least she never shared. I no longer go to this vet and highly recommend Dr Quigley, just a few miles away and way more interested in your small pet, both to facilitate their passing and their health in general. NOT the place for your beloved small critter. However, if youve got a horse, theyll get great service. Apparently.

I was referred to Dr. Finke by my regular vet because he was up front and honest with me that he was not knowledgeable enough to help my older horse. Dr. Finke also is NOT knowledgeable of horses, she took one look at my horse and said "Oh my God your are an old horse", she gave him a very minimal exam as though she was just going thru the motions and definitely not caring about his health issues, rather blowing him off because of his age. She drew a vial of his blood because we had to ask to do so to make sure his liver and kidneys were still functional, she never even so much as listened to his stomach when we explained the reason why we brought him there was for his diarrhea issues and the fact that he was dropping weight. End result she looked at him and said "Oh he has Cushings because he had curly hair on his legs and had not shed a small amount of his winter coat". Need less to say we went to Mid Rivers Equine Center and they were FANTASTIC, unfortunately our horse had CANCER which DR. Finke was clueless for her lack of a through exam. I feel very strongly that she blew us off because of his age, when I would call with questions she NEVER returned any of my calls. I would not recommend her to anyone, instead go to a real vet NOT HER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have gone since about 1998. Had no issues, yes if horse really sick you do wait but understand she is by herself and horses can die very fast in some cases. In all fairness just two weeks ago a emergency on dog that ate a Kong and was stuck needed immediate surgery. If my pet i would want compassion and not make nasty comments as some do. She is a very respinsible vet. Ask questions and if no answer push forward ask till answer.. No customer would just write false reports. I would not. I have been to many vets and fired them due to things wrong. She charges fairly and will not over spend money to try things till needed.

The vets here might be great if you own a horse but for my dogs and cat they seemed very disinterested. Every time Ive gone there for an appointment or to pick up meds(called first) they have seemed like I was bothering them. In my long history of being a pet owner this is NOT how I want to be treated, nor do I want my pets and pet appointments to be a bother. Ill go elsewhere. Their parking lot is always empty and for good reason. Every other pet owner in the Wentzville area is already clued in to not choose this particular vet for their canine and feline four-legged animals.

We have been going to Dr. Finke for 15+ years for our dogs and cats. She is outstanding in the treatment of our animals and compassionate when the time comes to put one down. Some people probably do not like the fact that she is a straight talker when discussing the care or treatment of your pet, but thats the trait I appreciate the most. I will mention that she is also one of the most reasonably priced vets you will find, which means shes not in the profession for the money, but for her love of animals.

I have been going to Marilyn for 20+ years, and have never been disappointed. Her entire staff is loving and very supportive, and extremely kind when you are losing a beloved pet. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. While cost should not be a factor when considering a veterinarian, her prices are also very resonable.

I took a my cat in for trouble breathing. Doctor told me flat out to just put her down. Took her to another vet and with medication she lived another two years. We were so insulted we never went back.
