I was extremely disappointed with my visit to Pittman, who had come highly recommended by some close friends. First I was charged for a shot that one of my dogs didnt receive. My 14 year old Cocker Spaniel was having ear problems and the vet blew it off as "typical Cocker ears" and that my cleaning them 2-3 times a week was the best I could do. A week later we were at an emergency care facility and almost $300 later were treating a chronic ear infection that had my dog not eating, not drinking and barely able to walk. I called Pittman and complained. The vet called me back later that same day and agreed to refund me for the extra shot that I was charged for, but he never did address the ear problem...or offer to do anything about it. I only pray that she comes out of it. I will not be going back to Pittman.

My husband and I own a 4 year old Great Dane. She has had major health issues from mites to acl tears. We couldnt believe how our current vet kept charging us outrageous prices for treatments, even check ups! Finally when they told us our dog had Heartworm we couldnt believe it, let alone the price they said it would cost. Through friends and even other clinics, we were directed to Pitman Animal Hospital. They were extremely friendly and accommodating to our dogs needs. (she was too large to go into their kennels so they let her stay out during her visits) Instead of paying $2000 for Heartworm treatment, we were able to pay only $550 or so at Pitman, including two follow-up visits/treatments. Our dog has never been this well and believe others should consult this hospital!!

Finally a vet that is more concerned with taking care of your pet than pillaging your bank account. Dr. Trost does what is required and will make sure that your pet is taken care of, but hes not going to rake you over the coals with superfluous "services". The office itself is spartan, if you ever wondered what a doctors office in the 40s was like, look no further. No need for frills when were just taking care of pets people. There have been comments about the staff being rude... I would offer that what you may consider rude could just be them being busy and focused more on their tasks than making you feel warm and fuzzy. Perhaps thats the trade off for reasonable prices??

Best Vet Clinic in Omaha! I needed a new vet in Omaha for my elderly dog after a suspected leg or back injury. The entire staff at Pittmans were very friendly and caring, and got us in for an appointment right away. My dog had an overnight stay there and was well taken care of. I ended up having to put my dog down a short while later, due to age and her constant pain. Not only were the staff so caring and compassionate, but a few days later, I received a beautiful sympathy card, hand signed by all of the staff. I was so touched by this! My parents have since switched to Pittmans, and they will be my vet of choice in the future. Highly recommended, and reasonable rates!

I would recommend Pittman Animal Hospital to anyone looking for pet shots at an extremely affordable price. Ive been bringing my three cats there for several years now, and though it is a bit of a drive for me, it is well worth it. Dr Trost is a professional who obviously cares about animals, and the facility is obviously there to help provide a much needed service evidenced by the affordable prices for shots. I am not familiar with the other services/prices offered at Pittman, and obviously if an emergency arose I would likely have to go somewhere closer to home, but for routine shots at a tenth of the price compared to elsewhere (x3) theres no question - go to Pittman.

We have used Dr. Trost for over 15 years. We also use their boarding services multiple times each year. The quality of care and compasion is always there. I know my animals are being well cared for and they are excited, healthy and vibrant when we pick them up. The "Bling" that some animal spas are trying to portray is not there, and that is MORE than fine by me. My animals are well cared for and kept safe when staying at Pittman Animal Hospital. To boot, the Veterinarian Care is also everything that we could want. There are Vet Clinics much closer to our home, but as long time clients, we will continue to choose to make the drive to Dr. Trost and his Staff.

We originally started taking our dogs here because it came highly recommended from coworkers and friends when we were new to the area. Although the prices are very reasonable the customer service is painfully lacking. In the past few years weve moved and traveled quite frenquently so we need copies of our dogs shot records and such. Everytime we requested them or even called to ask a question the office assistant was beyond rude. After I got married I called and gave my maiden name by mistake to look up a record and was met with " Great more complications, cant you people get it right?" Needless to say we will be taking our dogs elsewhere.

I love Dr. Trost he is amazing and extremely affordable. Im a college student and my dogs are my life. I trust my dogs in his hands completely and love how hes willing to work with my finances. This is a vet who cares more about your pet than money and will NEVER charge you for something your dog does not need. When my dog needed some stitches on a sunday night I took her to the emergency clinic and they wanted $600 I refused and took her to Pittman Animal Hospital the next morning and was charged only $150 for the same services.

This past July I called Pittman to make sure they had my updated address to send my rabies vaccination renewal card. I had been recently married so when I called and tried to make sure everything was to date I said that it could be under either name. The grumpy office assistant then replied "Why cant you people get these things corrected!" to me, a customer, when that is the exact thing I was trying to do. I then said that because of her terrible costomer serivice skills they have forever lost my business.

As someone else mentioned, Dr. Trost does a lot of work with the Boston Terrier Rescue that I volunteer for. I saw how caring and kind he was with my fosters (even my husband has commented) and decided to start taking our personal pets there. No, its not the fanciest place. There arent ten girls at the front desk and this reflects in his prices. Hes not just out to make an extra buck. Hes extremely reasonable, trustworthy, and very honest. Overall, I think hes a wonderful man and an excellent vet!

Dr. Trost is a very nice man. He cares for both of my dogs. Hes done work with the Boston Terrier Rescue. He has a caring heart and has been understanding and patient with me as I learn how to be a first time dog owner. Id definately recommend the Pittman Animal Clinic. The girls at the desk are nice to me. Ive read some reviews about them being rude... Ive never experienced that. Hes reasonably priced, caring, and excellent with me and my dogs. Id recommend :)
