Dr. Dukes is the most amazingly gifted surgon in his field period. I went to him after an injury at work that left my back broken in 4 places and 2 ruptured disks and increadibly agonizing pain. Dr. Dukes examined me and diagnosed the problem, sat down with me and explained all my options in clear laymens terms I could understand. This took all of about two hours. Three days later I was at St. Rose Dominican hospital having my 2 hour surgery. When I awoke the pain was gone, it was a miracle. In just 18 hours I was walking again and in 3 months no more pain pills that I rarly took anyway. After 8 months I was back to work in my field as an electrician. And now almost three years later I am still pain free and I can do nearly all of the things I did before my injury. I owe Dr. Dukes my life for the amazing work that he did on me and I would tell anyone who suffers from chronic back pain and problems that you owe it to yourself to call and set up an appointment with his amazing staff.

If you have a water leak, call a good professional plumber. If you need a room painted, call a good professional painter. If you have serious back problems or pain, call a "great professional" orthopedic doctor, - Dr. Derek Duke. First, expect to get an MRI and be prepared on your first visit to hear the "straight, to the point" diagnosis and recommended treatment. He is a pleasant but no nonsense doctor who tells it like it is. A true professional that is very busy just like a great restaurant!

I have spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis. I had back pain for more than 10 years. Dr. Duke, operated on my back one and a half years ago. It was a quick procedure to relieve pressure, I was on my feet after a day and I have had NO back pain since. At 76 years of age, I walk a mile a day, take Tai Chi, dance classes, water aerobics, etc. Dr. Duke improved my quality of life and I will be forever indebted to him.

I am amazed at some of the negative comments on this guy. I had my surgery 8+ years ago and the outcome was phenomenal. Furthermore for anyone to say this guy doesnt care is crazy. I remember him saying something to the effect that he would only be writing me one prescription after the surgery. I took that as you need to not be dependent on the opioids. To me that meant he cared.
