I am as particular about my dogs doctor as I am about my own, and no one is better than Jim McKiernan and his staff at Great Bay Animal hospital. There are multiple vets that are closer to my home, but Jim is the best, so thats where I go! He may be having the most hectic day in the world, and you would never know it, because he treats you and your pet as if you were his only priority. Jim consistently goes above and beyond to not only treat your pet, but to be sure that you are comfortable and understand everything re: treatment plans. He called me about the status of my dogs illness and healing at 9pm once (at my request!) - because he genuinely cares. He is a veterinarian par excellence, an outstanding person, and he surrounds himself with staff that uphold the same values that he does.

My family has been going to Great Bay Vets for 10 years. They take excellent care of my moms cats and my dogs... Dr Bloom is fantastic with my rather behaviorally-challenged big dog, managing the dogs fears and making her feel at ease. She also gave me very practical and low-cost advice on how to manage one of my other dogs skin allergies. And the vet techs are the best...

Took my cat in to be spayed; I was made to wait for a good 20min after I arrived before I even saw anyone, and felt that I was treated rather brusquely. The surgery went fine, and I picked up my cat, but once again felt brushed off by everyone. They did a good job on the spay, but I dont think Id want to go back.

Dr. Jim is just absolutely amazing both as a vet and as a person. Very kind, caring and sympathetic as well as his staff. Dr. Jim has been my vet of choice for 8 years and I wouldnt even think of going anywhere else!

Dr Jim is Very unprof. They have a company Halloween party every year ,which they dress up as thier paying clients and poke fun at them! They are not nice people only in it for the money.Try Dover Vet Hosp.instead.
