The Dentist and staff are great. The Ortho Doctor Dr Grinn is excellent. But the Receptionist JEN ( or BOSS of the Free WORLD as she may see it) Is a liar and a nasty person! If you get past her, your in.. but don t piss her off. Don’t question her in any way. She will just give you the hardest time, and deliberately make you wait for everything, very spiteful person. Everyone there is afraid of her. I was in the office with my Daughter, was told by doctors assistant that my daughters Retainers are in. I spoke directly with the Ortho doctor, and she said, please call me and speak to me when her retainers are in, I would gladly have her come in and take her Braces off. I called twice, and both times was told, Dr. Grinn was with a patient, that is fine, well understood. I respect that. I left my phone number, and was told she would call. I called again and spoke with JEN, first she said, the retainers are NOT there. Flat out lied to me! Then I told her, (JEN) I was in the office, and was told they were there! After I explained, that Dr. Grinn had spoken with me, and that I was to talk to her (Dr. Grinn), and she would move my daughters appointment up, before she is going on vacation. She put me on hold, came back on, she said she spoke to Dr. Grinn and by no means possible, can she move up my daughters appointment. Also the Braces are Paid in FULL!...No Balance is due. However, on earlier visit, when I paid a payment, my check was returned, I was TOLD to me by JEN, I had several returned checks. So we were NO Longer to pay by check. THAT WAS A LIE., .it was Only one returned check., in which I took care of by CASH. Trying to embarrass me by making such a fuss on ONE returned check, in which I took care of...seems that my Daughter (who has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS) now has to wait until the middle of September. Because JEN is a liar and a un-Kind...POWER Hungry Person! So, I say to Jen, REALLY??? Do you really get a rush...how Important or Powerful you really are in your world. Shame on you!!!! JEN!!! I have been a patient at Edison Dental for a while (since it was called Amazing Smiles) as it is the place that my insurance covers and it was close to my apartment. Until very recently, this place was not very good. The doctors did mediocre work and didnt seem to care either way. The hygenists were okay I suppose. Either way, the way this office used to run, I wouldnt recommend it to others for anything except for maybe a cleaning. Thankfully, there has been many changes. Recently, I needed some more serious work done to my teeth. The new doctor, Dr Vohra, is nothing less than excellent. First of all, I am a giant baby when it comes to dental work. Dr Vohra made me feel very comfortable before beginning and offered to make me more comfortable via anethesia (although she recommended nothing as it would be quick). The old doctors didnt give me a choice, basically telling me to man up. I know she says that she studied at UMDNJ, but she must have studied at Hogwarts because shes a friggin magician. Not only was she quick and painless, but the work she did is excellent. I had my front teeth worked on and you cant even tell I had anything wrong with my teeth. I can really tell the lovely people of Edison Dental are trying to revamp that practice because theyre changing a lot- even the little things. I remember never being able to get a live person on the phone and having my call going to an answering service (only to never get a call back...ever). The past few times I have called, a person picked up! The hygenists have always been good- even at the old practice, but theyre super helpful and friendly. I can say that I notice the positive changes that have occured at this practice and I can also say that I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great local dentist.

I was a patient of the practice for many years before it was bought by Amazing Smiles. I only still go there for Dr Kosofsky; when he retires I will probably move on. Now it has a very corporate atmosphere. The dentists work on you then zoom out of the room to work on other patients. Its always very, very crowded with long wait times. My biggest gripe: The office is impossible to reach - you always get the answering service - I mean ALWAYS, even during normal office hours. Its like they dont want to answer the phone and deal with you. THIS IS AN EDIT TO MY REVIEW: I spoke with Xenovia today about a billing issue and also my other concerns. She was very attentive, concerned, and took care of my issues, including the phone number on the statement. She was very sweet and patient and spent quite a long time on the phone with me. She explained that the practice has gone through some changes and is making many positive changes, based on patient feedback. It is nice to know they are responsive to complaints and willing to work to make the practice a better place.

I fully agree with the previous review. I, too, recently called as a prospective new patient to ask about their procedure fees as I do not have dental coverage, but am a member of a discount/reduced fee program. I spoke with an extremely rude staff member who was talking to other people while on the phone with me. She kept telling me shes never "heard of my insurance", despite my repeating that I do not have insurance and the program I was referring to is not an insurance plan, that Id be paying completely out-of-pocket. I remained professional throughout the 5-minute conversation even though I felt extremely frustrated. I was open-minded to having the office follow up with me once they look into my program more, but instead of offering to do so when I asked when they could get back to me or when I could call back for this information, all I got was a series of "I dont know"s. Ive since found a far more courteous practice that employs a friendly and knowledgeable staff and am happy to have brought my business elsewhere.

I absolutely adore the staff here. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and my first visit there, I was told "It doesnt matter how it happened, all that matters is youre here now. Were going to get you better." My very first visit was two years ago, and after a struggle with medical coverage, I finally got back two years later. I used to be afraid of the dentist. The last dentist I had a couple of years ago told me I was fat and thats why my teeth were bad. I was a child, and it wasnt anything to do with my weight. Dr. Schulman is absolutely wonderful. Both my mother and I have had extensive work done, and I couldnt have come to a better dentist. The staff is competent and polite and just wonderful. I have no idea why there are such negative reviews, because I have had such a great experience here, and have referred everyone I know to this office. well done.
