Normally, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Chances are, I will continue to go here and bring my children here because ultimately, the one dentist can just be avoided. However, I feel the need to put this out there. Now I wish I had gotten his name but I didnt so forgive me for just using pronouns. So, my 7 year old son went in for a visit and they found two cavities. The first time we went we saw Dr. Manjoo and she was GREAT! She was patient and kind and reassured him when he started crying. It took some time but we got through it and cavity number 1 was filled. I made the next appointment for his second filling but didnt realize it had been made with another Dr. When we showed up that day, we were taken into the room and right away my son began to cry. Nothing crazy, he wasnt screaming or flipping out... just crying. Right away the Dr. turns and says to me "I wont work on him if he is going to cry" so right away I try to comfort my son, bribe him... whatever. The dentist, obviously frustrated said "Ill give you guys a minute to get it together" and left the room. My son was just not having it. When the dentist came back in my son was still crying and he said to me that I should consider bringing my son to a specialist. In that moment I was more concerned with my son and said I would reschedule. So we walk out to the receptionist area where he proceeds to tell the receptionist that this appointment is cancelled because the kid wouldnt stop crying and then turns to me again and says I should bring him to a specialist. I asked him "What would a specialist do differently" and he told me that they would basically gas him. I said "Im not having him knocked out for a filling when the last time we were here the other Dr did it, Ill just reschedule with her. " Which I did and low and behold, she did the filling and my son was tear free. I remember that day specifically because I felt annoyed. At first, I felt annoyed with my own son but quickly realized I was feeding off of the Drs annoyance and my son is a kid! If anything the dentist should have said to my son "I know you feel scared and thats normal but I promise this will be easy...." or something reassuring but instead he acted like a mean jerk (my sons words). If you cant handle children and their tears maybe a family practice isnt for you. I really wish I had gotten his name because I feel he should be called out. I will say he was mid to late 30s, wore glasses and was maybe Indian. What I do know, is going forward I will schedule all appointments with Dr. Manjoo because she was kind and treated my son like a person. Aside from that incident I have nothing but good things to say. The dental hygienists and all the nurses are always so warm and kind and genuine too. The orthodontist at this practice is wonderful as well. My family of 6 will continue going here but now know who to see and who not to see.

My issue is not with the actual dentist/assistants. It is with the reception staff. Ive never been smiled at when arriving or leaving, and if they ask how I am I can tell they dont really care. There is nothing personal about interactions with their reception staff. I feel completely insignificant to them, as though I am merely another business transaction. They dont realize (or care) about the impact they have on a patients visit at all. Nobody looks like they like their job. Anytime I have a question nobody takes the time to really explain, as if I should make sense of their half-a** answers or like Im simply wasting their time. And there was a point in time where I was not insured- they made me feel like a criminal that was going to run away without paying them for my visit. The reception staff needs a serious lesson in professionalism, courtesy, respect, empathy, diplomacy, and tactfulness. They could not have stressed these qualities any more when I went to Medical Assisting school. To see such a lack of such qualities is disgusting. Many people fear/dread the dentist and I dont know how anyone can be put at ease by these people. I avoid going solely for this reason. One of the dental assistants has been taking care of my teeth since my first ones came in, and this is the only reason I have not left the practice yet. The clinical staff are generally friendly and are the reason I did not rate Brighter Dental 1 star.

I am constantly on the go and very busy juggling both work and school, so finding a dentist that would be convenient for me was not easy. I chose Brighter Dental Care because it is only a few minutes away from my job and I was looking for a flexible dentist. I went for my consultation just because I had a tooth ache and thought it was a simple cavity, however to my surprise I found out I needed much more dental work than that! Dr. Singer was very polite and made sure I understood exactly what work I needed done. He was even so accommodating to my schedule that he fit me in for dental surgery at night, which I was told was very uncommon! In all the dentists I have ever been to before, Brighter Dental Care has by far been the best. Brighter Dental Care has a great staff that is warm and very welcoming. Even the girls at the front desk are so kind. It is also great to be able to have a root canal, a cavity filled, and dental surgery all at the same place! Whenever I go see the doctors there, I know I am going to be comfortable. This was good for me because I am absolutely terrified of the dentist—I’m one of those patients that is always shaking and clenching their fists together in the chair. But Dr. Singer and his team have made every experience I’ve had at the Brighter Dental Care very pleasant. I am fortunate to have found them by chance and highly recommend their practice!

This place told me I needed work that cost 2X what my current dentist ended up doing, like $2200 vs $1000. I know others whove had the same thing happen to them there. I kept my 3 daughters there because they were somewhat used to them and its a hassle switching dentists with the insurance company, but just tried to make an appt. for my daughters to come in but apparently they have a "No more than 2 family members on the same day" policy, because they are concerned about 3 appt. being canceled at the same time? Im a newly single dad who works in another state and needs to take a half a day off to bring them to the dentist. Told them Id give them a deposit ahead of time if that was their concern, but they said Id have to go through their corporate office. Actually, no I dont, because Im finished with them. Terrible.

2 years ago I was very leery about switching dental practices from a private practice that I had been a patient at for many years, to a more "retail chain" type of practice. However, my experience from the first phone call to set up the consult visit - instantly changed my mind! The Flemington office has that private practice feel, while maintaining an efficient and professional demeanor. The staff - from the billing/reception staff , the dental assistants, the hygienist and the doctors (both staff and specialist) themselves, all make the entire experience very pleasant, convenient and most importantly - provide great dental care. I spend a LOT of time in that office, and I never mind going there. My only wish is that you had some Saturday availability - even 2x/month would be great. Keep up the great work!
