When i was A 17 yr old high school student. I contracted cyptococcal menengitis. (fungal menengitis). Granted it was a rare form of the infection . I went to the emergency room 4 times. They told me something different each time. sinus infection , flu . it was ridiculous. I was slowly dying . losing my vision . going blind . and having migraines so strong i would pass out and hit the ground. Or hit my head on a table etc. Finnally after the 4 visits to the E.R at centrastate . all the pain meds they sent me home with . (never admitting me) piled up in my medicine cabinet. I was in so much pain . I decided i would rather die than live for one more second with this pain. I was 17 years old . and my high school graduation was next week . I ate every pill they gave me . about 70 pills . APPEARANTLY thats the ONLY WAY for them to take me seriously!!! I went into a coma . I died. ( had an out of body experience) . I woke up probably a week later. They still had not a single clue as to what was wrong with me . They started giving me pain Management. Every hour I.V dilauded shots. . And every half hour percocet. None of this did anything. A simple lumbar puncture couldve solved this the first day ..... Finnally was admitted to the hospital . (it only took four E.R visits screaming in pain and a attempted suicide to get admittted) Now I was there for the LONG STAY . because no DR. could figure it out. Rocky mountain spotted fever. Sars. Than they tell me I have Aids. And I need to wait a week for the results to return. lymes disease. They treated me for all of the above. Meanwhile the entire time I showed every sign of menengitis. Luckily i did not have HIV. Or any of the above things mentioned. They finnally gave me a spinal tap . A month after I arrived at the hospital with menengitis like symptoms. They tapped my spine . THE NURSE SCREAMED . the pressure released from my spinal cord after punctured caused their tool to explode and hit the ceiling like a bottle rocket. She explained that after 23 years of doing these . she has never witnessed anyone with so much pressure built up in their spine . the pressure in my brain caused me to go cross eyed and blind. My eyes almost popped OUT. Noone seemed to think I had menegitis still. I was there for so long . that I had special lines put in my artery for long term I.V pain relief of the strongest opiate painkillers on earth . full body MRIs that took 7 hours weekly. And enough opiates to sedate an elephant. After the 1st lumbar puncture. Remember i said the tool hit the ceiling? Appearantly it relieved some of the pressure in my spinal area.. Thus relieving some of my discomfort. It was like letting air out of an over inflated balloon. The current diagnosis was lymes disease. I cannot believe im even typing this. None of this is embellished. Just pure neglect. So my symptoms felt better after the spinal tap . the doctor in charge felt as though the LYMES DISEASE medicine was working on me . and they SENT ME HOME. .. they were wrong again . 5 days later . was back in hospital with same symptoms. It took almost a year. A few changes in doctors to eventually figure it out . They turned me a 17 year old into an opiate addict . I have brain damage from this event and gross lack of negligence. And recently i went back to the hospital with odd symptoms again scared it was coming back. 8 years later. I was treated like a criminal in fall of 2016 by E.R. staff. Their file says opiate abuse is on my record. (which their hospital gave me) three rehabilitations later to kick the habit they gave me. To top it off they tell me their records show I didnt have the rare menengitis . I had regular viral menengitis. They covered their tracks! To avoid a lawsuit! They treated me as if i was making stories up! I never sued because im a christian and felt they saved my life in the long run . But after recent visit . The way i was treated. I consulting an attorney! And warning everyone!!!! These doctors take an oath!

my dad was just in this hospital let me tell you this place is awful he was in the er on Sunday night he had black out and bump his head and was out for a minute and was rush by ambulance to the hospital. our night mare continue .while in the er waiting on a bed to open up as he was being admitted .my mom had asked a nurse that my dad needed to use the rest room she was told do it yourself she attempted to and couldnt ask at least help me i will do it .than it just continue on from there were he was admitted into a room and they left my dad in a soiled bed for over a hour this isnt the first time it has happen .was told they dont have pull ups or diapers as its a hospital policy as there reason was they dont want them sitting in them and get bed sores will leaving him a soiled bed and went gown is ok i dont think so .its amazing when you request a patient rep things change real fast .the tech said oh its not that we dont have them i needed approve.its a shame how they can mistreat patients like that .some elderly cant speak up for themselves and you think you can walk over them and there spouse because they are soft spoken and old shame on you .and it just gets better my dad needed a echo and the tech that was doing the test was throwing a fit as my dad fell asleep. first off the test was suppose to be done the day before he gets very fatigue and sleepy easy .and this person was rude yelling and getting mad once again he looked at my mom and said will you have to help turn him over and hold him there um i thought its there job to figure out how to turn them and position them .stay away from this hospital if you can take your love ones elderly parents some were else .i would give a minus if i could

I have many complaints about this "hospital". They kept us waiting big time to be seen. My boyfriend couldnt move his neck much and I was unable to walk when we came in. My boyfriend got treated way better than I did. I asked for pain and nausea medicine since I first got seen and it took them 2 and a half hours to get me the medicine and it took way less (within half hour) to get my boyfriend his medicine. He got his xrays and all way quicker than I did. I hit the call button and the first time took 5 minutes for them to answer the first time and still didnt give me pain medicine. Called a second time and nobody answered, I even had to limp/hop over to the nurses station and still, nobody was there. A nurse saw me as I was hopping back and said shed bring the charge nurse to me so I could complain but they brought my RN who gave me MAJOR attitude (I dont know if she was having a rough night or what, but I didnt appreciate it and my boyfriend was on the phone with me at the time and heard it). I complained a few times and once the head woman came in, then they started paying attention to me. The service is terrible. Im really shocked since they are affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health. Usually hospitals and medical centers associated with RWJBarnabas are exceptional, but this one is so crappy. If I could give this place less than one star, I would. Do yourself a favor and go to anywhere but here
