I have been going here for over 10 years. They mis-diagnosed my Shih-Tzu who Ive had for 5 years, several times. One day they had him there all day doing tests and finally sent me to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. They are wonderful there! So I usually go to Red Bank for the harder cases but back to Berg to pick up prescriptions or routine stuff. Today I went because my dog was not able to hold his urine and hadnt been drinking water. Well, no one was in the waiting room. One client had left with his dog. I saw 3 doctors not doing anything so I assumed wed get taken care of pretty quickly. NOPE. I was in the exam room waiting and heard the doc say this one is leaking urine. Then I saw a doc take a folder into the break room with a bag of crackers. I kept seeing the hand go in the crackers. 10 minutes later, still no one coming in. I asked a technician if there was a problem and if there was I could come back. No, the doc is studying your dogs folder. Still sitting there eating her crackers. Finally I got fed up and said I am leaving. You can stop reading the fn folder. I told the receptionists I had an 11:20 apt and the doc is eating and I cant wait. I get told shes ready now. I said too late! If she couldnt respect my and my dogs time I dont want her working with my dog. Dogs are nervous waiting around and this was for no good reason. She just did not care. She was new there too. I never saw her before. They always have new vets probably right out of school. A big waste of time! Never again. They lost a very good client as I have spent thousands there over time!

The staff here is good, and did seem to be somewhat friendly, but it hasnt been updated since the 1960s. Its horrrible, dirty, old, smells. I didnt even wanna touch anything. My 2 yr old son kept asking where are the cows because he thought we were in a barn. Not good for business guys. I think Its time to spend a few bucks for a facelift. Geez at least new chairs and a new coat of paint. Very inexpensive. I almost didnt come back but did because you have seen my cat before and have his history. Still contemplating returning again. Ive never seen a business like this anywhere. Wow.

Dr. Berg and his staff have cared for my 11 yr old Bengal his entire life. They were always very caring and attentive to my cat. They always accommodated me as best they could with appointments. Dr. Berg is a sensitive care giver. Even my cat likes him, and my cat its afraid of men :) When my cat became seriously Ill it was Dr. Berg who knew (sensed) it and recommended a specialist. Thank goodness for that. The receptionists are kind and understanding. I recommend this veterinary practice.

Staff was nice and the doctor was patient and helpful. I brought my lab mix in for an ear infection the other day and the doctor was extremely patient even though my pup hates the vet. She was really misbehaved yet the doctor didnt mind he still diagnosed her and was even patient when I asked about homemade dog food. He was very knowledgable and helpful. Been using this vet for probably 10 years.

Front desk is very rude, one woman in particular. I called with a scheduling issue due to my wife being pregnant and day to day. The call was for meds for my cat. Her reply was "you have the same issue last year". I explained the issue and she said "im sure you have friends and family who can help you". Extremely poor customer service!

A Private User

The small animal vet is not very talkative and very euthanisia happy. He knows little about the species of small animals Ive taken there and give false information about them. He also seems to think rabbits having loose stool is normal, which is VERY VERY not normal. The rest of the staff is nice.
