I have been taking my daughter to see Dr. Andy for three years. I recently took my son with painful and bleeding gums, which turned out to be a cut deep above his canine tooth. Dr. Andy missed it, not only did he miss it but he brushed his teeth and cut while my baby was screaming and bleeding. He then proceeded to tell me I needed to make sure to brush well in that area. After a day I thought, this doesnt make sense; it was just too much blood! I started looking further and found the cut. How could he miss this! Not long following this incident, we needed Dr. Andys help for a personal matter. I realized Dr. Andy may be fun to joke with as long as youre on the clock, paying him and he doesnt have to go out of his way to help you out. His actions showed me he is not caring, compassionate or sympathetic. They made us wait over a week to sign one page for a military move. Every time I called, the front staff would say "we will call you when it is ready." How long does it really take to review the records of a 4 year old that has been seen three times and a 2 year old that has been seen once. I work in a hospital and have patients, it is just a matter of wanting to do it and finding the time. If youre looking for a compassionate and sympathetic dentist this is definitely not the place for you.

Okay, Im totally going to sound like the over protective mad parent but believe me, Im not. Im just really surprised by this dentists lack of professionalism. I am really surprised by all the 5 star reviews. I dont know if Dr Andy was just having a bad day when we went but I was completely dissatisfied with how he treated my children. The assistant was nice, the receptionist was very nice but the dentist was not. It was a routine cleaning for both my kids. They go to the dentist every 6 months so it should have been no big deal. Dr Andy made my daugther, who is 7, cry because he shamed her; he stated (not very nicely) she must not brush and floss often. It wouldnt have been a big deal if he hadnt kept harping on her about it. He did this because she kept wincing while he was flossing her teeth. She is a very tactilely sensitive child; her teeth are sensitive and crowded so, yes, flossing is not comfortable. I dont believe that is a reason to shame a child into behaving the way you think they should behave. Were new to the area; we moved cross country so were used to people being a lot nicer and more laid back. Think what you want, Im never bringing my kids back here.

Absolutely amazing! Super clean, super friendly, amazing staff! I took 3 kids, ages 7 4 & 2, over the last 3 days to Dr. Andys office and he was great with all of them! None had ever been to the dentist, and my oldest was particularly nervous. He was difficult to get cleaned but Dr. Andy was very patient with him. My other kids are more outgoing, and Dr. Andy was great with them, too. Also, parents... While I am not proud that my 7 year old had never been to the dentist, I know Im not the only one. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was very pleasant and understanding. Not once was I ever made to feel badly for not having brought him sooner by anyone in the building. If youre in the area, and you need to take your kid to the dentist, this is the place to go. Other reviews have mentioned that he is "bad with kids", but I cant understand. I went three separate times, three separate days, and he was consistently good with three different kids, three different ages, three different personalities.

I never leave reviews, but after our appointment yesterday I feel compelled to. I have one of those… strong willed… toddlers. It was our first trip to the dentist and I knew it was going to be a nightmare. My expectations were met when my son started screaming and crying because he did not want the dentist to look at his teeth. Dr. Andy was amazing. He suggested I hold my son on my lap and have him lean backwards which worked very well. Dr. Andy and the dental assistance were calm and very nice while my son was screaming his head off. They made me feel very comfortable that we were not alone in our tantrum and reassured me that it happens all the time. We have to return in a few months, and even though I know it will be a nightmare again, Im dreading it slightly less because the staff was so kind and professional. I shouldnt forget - they started right on time! (We had our two month old with us as well, so that was extremely impressive). Were very, very impressed with Kids First.

I first met Dr. Andy during a presentation at the preschool where I worked. He came in and talked to the kids about brushing and taking care of their teeth. All of the students loved him so when it was time to take my own son to the dentist I knew thats where we would go. My son loved him from day one and has never been afraid when I say "Were going to the dentist." He looks forward to the goody bag he gets after his cleaning. Even when my son had to get a few cavities filled at very young age, he was at ease. Today we took our one year old daughter for her first appointment. She did pretty well even though shes nervous with strangers. The only part she really didnt like was the toothbrush and mommy holding her hands down. Dr. Andy and his staff are very friendly and gave us great advice on how to care for our childrens teeth.

Its fine when everything is perfect.....but I did not like Dr. Andys condescending attitude. My son has mild autism and was extremely sensitive to touch. Needless to say he wasnt very happy during teeth cleaning and my son was made to feel ashamed about needing to brush his teeth more. I can understand a dentist wanting you to brush your teeth more but the way he makes the child feel is not appropriate. I took my daughter for treatment for a cavity and wasnt informed that the office did not except my insurance until after she had her cavity filled and I would have to pay out of pocket. I then called at a later time to ask a question and they never returned my phone call. Very unprofessional. Dr. Andy I only hope you will learn to be more caring and understanding to your patients.
