After going for one visit at Oradell Animal Hospital (not to be confused with Animal Care of Oradell), my cat was diagnosed with severe gum disease, where the doctor left me feeling like it was my fault, and quoted me an astronomical price for the dental surgery she needed. I then remembered that my husband and I had met Dr. Hurst (of Animal Care of Oradell) on hike a while back, and I decided to contact him to see if he could offer a better price for her surgery. What followed was the best experience Ive ever had with a vet. To start, you walk into an office that feels more like a spa then a clinical setting - they even offer you coffee when you come in. Not only is it calming for the pet owner, but they have Feliway plugins in the wall that release pheromones to help calm your animal too. The staff is super warm and friendly. We met with Dr. Hurst, and he confirmed that our cat would need the surgery (a dental cleaning and several tooth extractions) but explained it was stomatitis, which is an autoimmune issue that was causing such severe problems, as opposed to the other vet who made me feel like a bad cat mother for not brushing my cats teeth! Dr. Hurst spoke to us for a while, filling us in with every detail, and every possible scenario, always remaining very calm, which made us feel very comfortable. After that initial visit, we also got an email from Dr. Hurst personally thanking us and with an attachment that listed everything we discussed during the visit (her weight, her temperature, behavior, etc.). We went forward with the surgery, which would have been a lot more expensive had we gone with the other vet (to give you a point of reference, office visits at ACO are over 30% less than at OAH). After the surgery, we were told that our cat would need 3 follow up visits to check on her - but we would not be charged for any of these (they are included in the price of the surgery). It has been nearly 2 weeks since her surgery, and in addition to the one follow up visit weve already had, the office has called me 3 or 4 times just to check in on her and make sure shes doing alright! Also, after our follow up visit, we received another email, like the first, with the "minutes" of that visit. All I can say is that the individualized attention that you receive with this vet is unparalleled. It feels like something that only rich people would have access to, but instead its actually cheaper than competing vets in the area. I dont know how long the clinic has been open but I believe its between 6 months and a year, so I know they are in the process of building a clientele, which is never easy. I would strongly recommend becoming one of their clients - you will not regret it! We are going to be moving even farther away from them, but we plan to continue to make the trip when we need to take our cat to the vet, because they are just that good.

Based on good online reviews of this clinic I decided to give them a try when I moved to Oradell a year ago. We have been very pleased with the care and attentiveness of the staff, and knowledge of Dr. Hurst. The reception staff always greet us with a smile and remember my dog, Devon, from visit to visit. Although Dr. Hurst will run needed tests, they dont push needless testing or expensive procedures for no reason, and have actually talked me out of tests when I was in a panic when my dog was in pain (they would have done them if I 100% wanted them, but suggested waiting to see if the problem resolved with anti-inflammatory medications, which it did). They are always quick to get back to me and follow up even routine procedures with a call the next day to make sure everything is ok. On my first visit they were not very busy and showed me some of their state of the art technology, which is very nice! This is a new clinic with all new machines! Overall I have been very pleased with the level of care, knowledge, and overall experience at Animal Care of Oradell and recommend others give them a try.

We have been seeing Dr. Hurst and Staff now for the last year and a half. They have handled emergencies and regular well visits for our 3 cats and 2 dogs in that time. They have shown extreme care and concern for our pets and familys well being at all times taking outstanding care of everyone right up to the difficult times it is necessary to say goodbye to a family pet. They always seem to have the best advice and we have been truly impressed for how great they are, especially in those toughest of times. The facility there is also ultra modern and top notch. No expense has been spared here in the quality of facilities, exam rooms and waiting areas, staff, training etc. The fees I would consider reasonable as far as medical care goes, but the quality of care here has been exceptional. I believe the level of care received from Dr. Hurst and staff exceeds expectations. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I have been going to Animal Care of Oradell for about 6 months now and I have had nothing but great experiences! Dr. Hurst and his wonderful staff truly care about every single animal who walks through that door. It shows when he spends a great deal of time with each patient. I brought my five year old cat in after he was rapidly losing weight. Dr. Hurst was determined to figure out what the cause was. He tried everything he possibly could before we had to put him down. On the dreadful day that we brought my boy in, the ACO team was unbelievable! Dr. Hurst came in and told us exactly what was going to happen while the technician was petting Chu and giving him treats. The ACO team made sure Chu was comfortable until the end. I am so grateful for such an outstanding animal Hospital. I always know my fur babies are in good hands!

The level of care my pets receive from Dr. Hurst and his staff is truly remarkable. From well visits to emergency situations, Dr. Hurst is always there for his patients and their families. Even non emergency questions by email are answered very quickly. We had been to other vets but once we were referred to Animal Care of Oradell, we will never go anywhere else. The office is state of the art, spacious, super clean, and the fees are more than fair for the services provided. Dr Hurst spends a great deal of time and personal attention to detail for each patient and he follows up each visit with a phone call home by his staff. This is a doctor who cares. I just cant praise nor thank Dr. Hurst enough!

Dr. Hurst and his staff are really wonderful. They truly care about the animals they treat with a holistic approach combined with the latest technology. My 12 year old dog was getting a little stiff from old age/arthritis and the medications and nutruitonal support Dr. Hurst recommended has really helped to get her moving around with much less discomfort. The practices fee for service and costs for medications/ supplies are very reasonable. My wife and I highly recommend this veterinary practice for anyone looking for excellent care for their pet.
