I never got the opportunity to discover if good vet or not, but based on how they handled my situation Id rather not find out. I moved from North Jersey, and found this vet. My girl cat has allergy issues and has a long history of regular vets, specialists etc. She has been wheezing more than normal and I wanted to take her in to make sure it wasnt another issue like heart worm with all the ticks and mosquitos down here. I specified this when I called. .I also wanted a 2nd opinion for my male cat needing a tooth extract. I like to take them together for two reasons: 1) If i take the girl alone the boy hisses and snarls at her for 2-3 days after because she smells different She has enough to deal with without her brother antagonizing her. If I take him with her, this doenst happen. 2) I work up North and not always easy to get to vet, so much better to take them together. The vet outright refused to see them together, under the premise that he likes to spend more time with each of them. I expressed my concern about two items above and asked again if I could bring them both, they said no. They called day before to confirm my girls appointment. I said she is doing better and hasnt wheezed in days, so I am thinking we can reschedule for next week..that I understand dr wont share an appointment, but if they could book me two back to back appointments then he can spend the full allotted time with each cat. For instance, a 12:30 for her and 1 pm for him. Their suggestion was to book on in the morning and one in the afternoon. Im sorry, maybe its me but does this make any sense? Why do I have to bring one at 12 and another at 3, instead of just 12:30 and 1, for example. I expressed (admittedly not too nicely at this point) my frustration at receptionist saying it makes no sense to me and did she ask the dr I am asking for two back to back appointments, not a shared one? She said yes and this is how he wants to do it. I finallly gave up and said fine, it makes no sense, but ill bring her alone tomorrow THEN GUESS WHAT? They CALL ME BACK AND SAY DON:T BRING HER!!!!!! THey canceled on me! Told me to bring her to my allergist. Well my ALLERGIST is UP NORTH, that is why I"m looking here, and I wasnt bringing her for ALLERGY I was bringing to check for heart worm! Completely disorganized and unprofessional. Would stay far away

I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone who has a pet that they consider family. Small Animal has the most compassionate and empathetic staff I have ever met. They actually care about the animals they see, and the people who care for them. From Faith at the front desk, to the technicians, to the vets, and Thomas the office cat- everyone is amazing and so, so caring. We- my family and pets- had been to several different vets prior to finding SAVA, and the only thing I can think is why didnt we find them sooner. Our cats are treated by Dr. Denyer, who is one of the most amazing vet I have met. She honestly cares about the animals she sees. She does her best to make sure they are comfortable, and that they get what they need- and not something they dont. She explains things in medical terms, and then will explain each part so you can understand what your animal has. And when it comes to the difficult choices- she is honest with you. She gives you options, she gives you her opinion on what she would do, and then respects whatever decision you may make. If, by some horrible chance, your pet does have to be put down, they are so, so sweet. They know youre letting go of a family member, and are there for you every step of the way. Definitely an A+++++ vet office. Again, I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

My family has been dealing with this vet since 1992. From 1992 to 2015 we have had a total of 4 dogs all rescues who all lived long healthy lives. They were all taken regularly to this vets office. Our family recently decided that we were going to try and adopt a dog. We put in a few applications and our vets office for a reference. When the shelters called the vet to ask about our dog records the receptionist at the vets office lied and told them that they had never heard of us. The shelter called back and they said that they found our records but we had not taken any of our dogs to the vet from 2004 to 2015 and the receptionist that the shelter had talked to was very nasty and rude and told the places not to call anymore or she would file harassment. We have vet records that show we took our dogs to the vet on a regular basis from 1992 to 2015. Even though we had those records, because.of the way the vets office treated them when they called to ask a few routine questions we were unable to adopt a dog. This vet really screwed up and unfortunately a dog who needed a home now could not find one with us where he would have had a good loving home.

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Werkmiester since 1996 & will NEVER use a different veterinary office for my pets! Everyone, from the vets to the office staff, are amazing with my animals. In fact, my dogs get so excited when it comes time for an appt. They love visiting everyone there. They are so empathetic & caring & treat my babies as if they were their own. They are honest yet compassiinate when it comes down to bad news. And they dont try to drain every cent from your wallet

Excellent clinic. The care they show is outstanding, from the receptionist calling your pet by name when you walk through the door to the techs and doctors taking the extra time to talk to you about any concerns. Dr. Workmiester is very good at what he does.

Dr. Denyer, is the best there is! I wish she was a people doctor as well!! And Dr Wurkmeister is one of the most compassionate Vets Ive very met. He was wonderful with us as we said goodbye to our ginger. And the staff was amazing as well!!
