Best Vet in Tacoma!~ We came here initially with an 18 year old cat who had adopted us but was in rough shape. The amazing care they provided has given the cat real quality of life, he is a fat and happy boy. We have since had emergencies that required surgeries and procedures with other pets, and feel they have been very good at respecting our wishes. They have been excellent at explaining what the issues are, what our treatment options are, and what additional information Dr. Warren is apt to gain from a given procedure. I could not say enough kind things about Dr. Warren herself, she is AMAZING and I only wish I could find a personal physician that has her attributes to do my own lab work... I trust her with my pets implicitly. She has recently added Dr. Gray to her practice, who met with us late one evening to pick up our cat after mouth surgery. She did extra proceudres on the spot to make sure our cat had the best chance that night of making it through without running to the afterhours emergency and we greatly appreciate her "kennelside manner" and her ability to be compassionate with us through a trying time. She even offered to see our cat the next morning if necessary and followed up with me by phone later that next day. I would happily have any of the vet techs or doctors at Met Vet care for any of my pets. If you are looking for a clean, safe, kind and caring Vet clinic, Met Vet is for you.

At first, I was frustrated with the service. Dr. Gray saw my 12 yo old chihuahua for the first time in August 2013 and he had issues as a senior (bad teeth-my fault) but heart was okay according to the wellness exam. Then we had a crisis in early September 2013 and Romeo started breathing heavily, collapsing, wailing, had to give him mouth to nose and take him to the emergency clinic multiple times within a week. I have gotten to know the folks who work at Metropolitan Veterinary since, both doctor Warren and doctor Gray and the amazing support staff who all dealt kindly with my neurosis/anxiety about Romeos condition. I have felt very supported by them during this difficult time. They have collaborated with other specialists, the emergency veterinary hospital, arranged for cardiology exam, have stayed late when we needed it. Dr. Gray would call and follow up on Romeo. Dr. Gray has been amazing with my Romeo! They have been honest about the scope of their expertise. I am very pleased with their service and would recommend them highly. Romeo is still not out of the woodworks but we have a cardiologist appointment this following Monday that Dr. Gray encouraged and arranged. We remain hopeful :)

We took our 2 chihuahuas here for 4 years and had amazing service. Dr. Warren was always super friendly and knowledgable. The staff is great and very caring and they always remember our dogs. The facilities are clean and welcoming. They even stayed open late once when one of our dogs had an emergency and we called just before closing. I love that they have later hours on certain days so we could go after work. If we called with questions, they were always answered or someone would call us back in a timely manner. I would definitely take my pets to Dr. Warren. We were sad to move away from Tacoma and have to find a new vet!

While the vet herself is very good, the staff is seriously lacking. Took my cat in and was told rabies vaccination was necessary. When I challenged that Ill pass because of the next to impossible chance of any animal (other than bats) contracting rabies, I was told it is ILLEGAL to deny the series. I did drive faster than 35 mph to my appointment, also. Oh my! Next appt the staff said they were just going to involuntarily tack it onto my appointment for the day. Send the rabies police to my house. Intelligent citizens need not apply to this clinic.

You cant beat Dr. Warren and her dream team. They are always professional, welcoming, and they genuinely care about the animals and humans that walk through the door. Ive never had a check up that was I was rushed nor have I had shots or tests run without fully understanding what they were and the price attached to it. The knowledge of the whole group cant be beat. Ive watched them not only interact with me, but many others when picking up or dropping off my cat for boarding. Its been easy to see both the pets and the owners love the Met Vet staff.

I have a mature kitty that was an alley cat. Im also a first time cat owner, so Im very dumb when it comes to anything health related. MVC always takes the time to talk to me about him, usually bringing me off the crazy cliff. There is a vet tech as well as the main front desk receptionist that make sure my cat feels safe in the environment.

They took great care of my cat and his weird tooth problem and gave us excellent advise for how to proceed. Ive worked as a vet assistant before and I got the impression that this place would have been a great place to work with the care and politeness the DVMs seem to put in to their work, while not calling for anything extraneous.

Weve been through a few local vets over the years and have settled on Met. Their staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. They truly care for our fur friends and look for whats best by way of treatment. They dont just push meds for the sake of meds.
