We have been going to Northwest Veterinary Hospital for more than four years now. We started at the recommendation of a friend when we first moved in to the Fremont/Wallingford area, and have been impressed with the service and treatment ever since we started. We work with Dr. Whereat, who is just fantastic with all three of our dogs, and who was absolutely wonderful when one of our former pets had to be euthanized (he had a long, good life). Dr. Whereat is always pleasant, helpful, thorough, and very honest. She takes time to explain things and answer questions, so we always feel like we have the information we need to make the right care decisions. The staff of greeters and technicians are equally wonderful and make us and our pets feel welcome, which helps calm the dogs a bit, since theyre never thrilled about the visits (LOL). The added bonus is that its about a 5-minute drive from our house, so we get excellent care that is really close and convenient. It all gives us great peace of mind. Highly recommend.

I found Dr. Donovan to be extremely condescending and unwilling to entertain the possibility that I might even have a cursory knowledge of what might be wrong with my own cat. I am, admittedly, not a vet but I have volunteered at animal hospitals and taken care of dozens of cats throughout my life. Dr. Donovan shot down every possible cause I raised for my cats problem and seemed to really try to make me feel ignorant or inferior in some way. I was more than willing to defer to his expertise, but anything I felt pertinent to my buddys condition, as his owner, was dismissed... and, oh yeah, my cat didnt get better until he was seen by someone else who confirmed my initial suspicion. Dr. Donovan may be a good vet for you if you like pop up books and sharing your finger paints, but if you feel you know your own pet and /or have even an 8th grade concept of anatomy and physiology, at best, he will annoy you. At worst, well...

I second a previous reviewers comment: LOVE Dr. Donovan. Everyone at this place is very caring and very knowledgeable about animals. I never feel pressured to make expensive decisions, but rather I am presented with all the possible options. I also appreciate that if there is a health issue with any of my cats, the vet call home to follow up to see if all is okay. When one of cats condition declined such that we had to make a very difficult choice, everyone at NW Veterinary was very compassionate to us as owners.

Ive been bringing my 8 1/2 year old English Bulldog, Emmitt, and my cat Oliver here for about 5 years, and have always had excellent care. They are admittedly a bit pricey, but both Dr. Donovan and Dr. Whereat are WONDERFUL, caring, and knowledgable. Would not hesitate to recommend, especially for anyone with a bully breed - pugs, bulldogs, French bulldogs, boxers, etc. They have unique health issues, and Dr. Donovans knowledge of these types of dogs (he has a Frenchie himself) is very strong. Highly recommend!

This is a vet that we frequently take our dog to and it is very good quality but the service not so much. We always have to wait a very long time when we come even if we have booked an appointment. Also the prices here are very steep. They are super expensive for the usually minimal work that they do. When my dog has a check up they charge a super big amount even though they are just checking his heartbeat and then telling us hes fine. This is a great vet its just very expensive and they make you wait a long time.

Dr. Donovan took great care of my cat, she needed a minor surgery for an injury that had gotten infected. He laid out several options and was not pushy but rather allowed me to guide myself to the best option for me and my cat. The staff were likewise caring, prompt and helpful! I will be back!

Took our rescued dog here for his teeth operation. Staff was friendly and they did a good job with the poor dog (he was abused and we found him half-dying at a park). He was injured (vet thought he was repeatedly punched in the face), and the vet here took care of him. He is now a happy pup!

The best vet Ive found in Seattle. Everyone there is really nice and seem to genuinely care about the animals, from the vets themselves to the person behind the counter. The atmosphere is great and I never feel like Im being dealt with or oversold. I just wish they were open later.

All the personnel are caring and friendly, yet professional. Dr. Heeren has been our vet for about 8 years, and I cant imagine a more knowledgeable, caring, competent vet for our dogs. And its easy to get an appointment convenient for me.

Ive been taking my dog and cat here regularly for the last two years. Everyone is great. I highly recommend Dr. Whereat. She is really good at interacting with dogs and is pleasantly straight forward with people.

I love how they let us into the exam room right away and dont make us wait in the lobby. this is super important to me since my cat is really scared of being at the vet in the first place.
