In the past 6 years, our household has decreased from 4 cats to 1 cat as the others grew old and developed various major health problems (stroke, massive liver failure, kidney failure) that led to our decisions to euthanize them and allow them to end their lives peacefully and with us there to provide comfort. Those decisions sucked, but sometimes theyre necessary. I liked the first clinic, but it was expensive and it felt as though they were prolonging the life of our cat even though it wasnt necessarily what was best for her, what with us shoving 6 pills and a liquid down her throat every day to manage the effects of just plain getting old, on top of the hyperthyroidism shed had for years. That cat had a stroke, and we took her in to be euthanized. They were very kind and caring, allowed us as much time as we needed, and sent a lovely card afterward, which we appreciated. The second clinic was okay, but I didnt really click with them. I did appreciate their honest recommendation when we found out the second cat had massive kidney failure. The vet recommended euthanization as dialysis wasnt practical for a cat that age, and a transplant wouldnt happen for her, either. It was difficult, but we agreed he was right. We took a few minutes with her, but they "squeezed us in" late on a Friday because they didnt do euthanizations on Saturdays, and we didnt want her to suffer for 3 more days until Monday morning. It was lousy having to make that choice so quickly and feel like we didnt have enough time to say goodbye. Also, when we were done, we walked out and were presented with the bill, which seemed tacky and insensitive. We had another cat who we were taking to Vets For Less. We took her in for some health problems that had cropped up and found out that her liver was failing. There was really no other option than euthanization except for a painful natural death. We again made that difficult choice. They were kind and caring, and after wed said goodbye, they let us exit through a back entrance so that we didnt have to walk out through the waiting room when we were so upset. I think we paid the bill beforehand because it was a fixed price, and we were actually okay with that. Better than dealing with it right after youve had to say goodbye to a 4-legged friend youve known and loved for years. I appreciate that I can just walk in when its convenient for me, and I dont need to make an appointment. And their prices really are lower when you compare them to other vets - at least the ones Ive used previously. For the euthanizations, they were probably 1/3 the cost of the other two places, and I appreciated that. If theres something you dont need after an emotionally difficult time, its a big fat bill. Their vaccinations are less, too. My only complaint is that Ive noticed when waiting with my cat that sometimes they take a number of dogs back to the waiting rooms while Im still sitting in the waiting room, even when Im the only cat owner there. I dont know if they have more dog exam rooms than cat exam rooms, but its happened a few times. Its a pain if Im there with my kids, but I still think that they are quality vets and plan to continue taking my pets there for years. As an aside: I dont understand why Google publishes "reviews" that simply contain a low star rating and no reason why. Looks like trolls/bitter competitors to me.

We first tried Vets for Less animal clinic about two years ago, and from the moment we entered the clinic, we knew that the clinic was a great place. The front office check-in staff is very courteous, and more importantly, the veterinarians and their assistants are very nice, thorough, knowledgable, and handle the animals with great care. Our small dog has had major emergency surgeries, oral care (cleaning and extractions), eye exams, and shots performed at Vets for Less, and each time we have visited, I have been pleasantly surprised both at the outstanding quality of care that they provide animals. Even more importantly, I love how well they treat people owners by taking the time to explain what all the tests, exams, and results mean and whether there are alternatives. I trust them, and they have never treated us owners wrong or been judgmental to us unlike the treatment we have received at some other clinics we have visited. That the prices are also very affordable makes Vets for Less the only animal clinic that we have found where you get tons of value for your money. Therefore, I absolutely highly recommend Vets for Less animal clinic for both minor and major veterinary services. As a side note, I have read some of the low scoring (1-star) reviews of this clinic... I can attest to the fact that this clinic is not all about the money. You cannot find another clinic for 50 miles or more that provides this level of care and services at such affordable prices. I believe those experiences are not truthful or they are very, very unique.

I went here to have my kitten neutered. I needed to save money and I knew that nurturing is a very minor surgery. I wouldn’t bring my animals to a cheap place if it was something complicated or dangerous, after all, you get what you pay for, right? Well, in this instance that adage doesnt apply. We were treated wonderfully. The doctor spent time with me and my kitten and also with my dog for which I got a rabies shot at the same time. We were treated so well and they did such a great job that I decided that I would take my dog there to be spayed when the time came. They treated me with such respect for my feelings for my dog; they took the time to explain everything because I was worried, even though they were very very busy. They didnt make me drop her off in the morning and come at the end of the day leaving her to be nervous for hours before the surgery, I brought her in fairly soon to the time she was scheduled and picked her up very soon afterwards once they were sure she wouldnt have any reaction. Then they called on Monday (I had it done on Saturday) to see how she was doing. With all of that and a wound that is healing nicely and a pup that was already up and feeling rather well the next day I paid 108 dollars (large breed and of course I opted for the pain shot). My friends vet charged her $287.00 for her dog with no complications or any reason it should be that high. I live all the way in Ballard so for me it is a 40 minute drive and worth every mile.

My 12 year old Black lab/Shar pei mix was refusing to walk, eat and go to the bathroom on his own. We took him to Vets for Less to see if there was anything we could do for him. The vet, Ashley Austin, came in and looked at him for a few minutes. Without doing any tests or even touching him, she told us that he had hip dysplasia and nerve degeneration and began pressuring us to have him put to sleep. I said no, but she continued to pressure us and made the comment that “part of growing up is learning to let go” even though I am an adult and she looks barely older than me! As I continued to refuse, she gave us some pain medication and anti-inflammatories and sent us on our way. She told us that he would never walk again. Despite her diagnosis, he made a complete recovery and is behaving just as he used to. Ashley made no attempts at assessing my dog’s condition before making a diagnosis and did not provide us with a referral. She acted in a completely unprofessional and condescending manner towards me, and if I had listened to her, my dog would’ve been dead for no reason. Vets for less may be great for simple things such as vaccinations, but do not bring your pet here for anything serious. They will not tell you to see another vet, they will only tell you that your pet is sick beyond recovery and pressure you to put them to sleep.
