i went there about a month ago to a small animal clinic because my regular vets office had closed (total mistake). my dog appeared to look sick when i got home from work but he seemed very healthy that morning. anyway i took him to this hospital and the veternarian said my puppy had "parvo virus" and i said that didnt seem right and i hear her partner vet in the back yelling out that im wrong and saying he does have it. so at this point im scared and willing to do anything for my dog if he has this virus so we treat him with fluids n such... turns out the bill is hundreds of dollars and im crying because i feel so stuck. they really gave me no options but scare me. they also highly recommended i keep my dog overnight but then my bill wouldve been almost 1,000! so i went with my gut feeling and took him home n take care of him myself because i think i know my dog better... the next day i called their office and that same vet told me he does not have parvo. my dog was also not sick anymore, i think just like human dogs get sick sometimes and i think this vet totally ripped me off and just wanted my money. now i know that they sneak u with random charges that you dont even understand because its medical terms... so people be very skeptic with ur next veternarian!please!

We have had several experiences with these wonderful vets and their caring staff and they all have been good. I have coming to them ever since I got a new blond labrador puppy and was not sure where I should go until I started asking around. I started asking because I wanted to form a bond with people I could trust. I checked with my best friend, my co-worker, and finally family that live in town. They all said the same thing, "Take Max to see Dr. Amy!" Really, I was amazed at their kindness and genuine caring. They have been so gentle, informative, and supportive. Also, they worked with my grandmother and her cat, "Bubbles", for years and were always willing to work together on making sure that Grandmas kitty got excellent care. Trust me.. if Bubbles and Grandma loves someone/something/ somewhere.. it must be good. Really, after some not so good experiences (not in Federal Way) we are so happy to have a clinic that we can always trust. Thank you! PS I also witnessed a gentleman who had just put down his beloved pet, and they went out to the parking lot to check on him. And they called him later that evening to make sure he was ok. Trust me. That sort of compassion, brings customers back..

Brought in my two cats for regular examination and vaccinations, preparing them for the boarding here. Changed my mind about boarding quickly! Both - female doctor and her assistant - were horrible with cats, grabbibg them as if they are inanimate objects. Mixed up their vaccinations, giving each wrong one (one was supposed to get rabies vaccine, another - distemper). Tried to push me to get blood work, dewormer, etc, etc. By that time I decided NOT to board my cats with them and asked for the proof of vaccinations. In the paperwork they mixed up cats names, colors, weights - everything they could, so the rabies certificate had wrong cats name and color, and even after fixing it twice they couldnt get it right. Afterwords one of the cat who got rabies shot was limping for several weeks and got a lump on same paw - and this lump is still there, 4 months later! Really, stay away from these weirdos!

We recently had my terrier mix into A Small Animal Hospital for vaccines and a dental cleaning. My wife and I have been taking all our pets (2 cats, 3 dogs) to them for several years, ever since we moved to Federal Way 9 years ago. We have always found Dr. Amy and Dr. Mark to be kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. The staff is caring and friendly as well. In an era of corporate veterinary hospitals and discount slap and dash quickie clinics it is soooo nice to have an animal hospital where they understand that pets are a member of the family. I have advised co-workers to take their four legged family members here as well and they have always been pleased and impressed. One lady at work actually thanks me every once in a while for speaking up and telling her where to go for veterinary care. Entrust your pets to A Small Animal Hospital and you wont be disappointed.

I had my dogs nails trimmed during boarding (09/05/15 - 09/08/15). , I noticed his foot had a blood stain on it. I then asked her what she was spraying on my dog, and then she tells me that it was a hydrogen peroxide spray to clean the blood on his foot. I was then told that while trimming his nails she got too close to the quick, which happens. I understand it happens, what I’m livid about was the fact that it took me asking questions to find out my dog was injured in the care of ASAH. Instead of being upfront, they chose to be secretive and try to mask my dog’s injury. When my dog got in my car, I noticed fresh blood marks on the seat and then I noticed his foot still bleeding. I got him home and then cleaned and bandaged his paw, then immediately got on the phone to ASAH, who "apologized" but was anything but apologetic.

We have very thankfully just passed the one year anniversary of Dr. Amy Besola saving the life of our little Schnauzer Woody. Woody was attacked by a large Yellow Lab and had his neck crushed and a major blood vessel pulled out and snapped in two by the big dog. By the time my husband was able to get him home so I could drive to the vet, Woody had lost so much blood he was almost gone. Dr. Amy talked us through how to get help until we could get to her office. She was able to make all the right choices to help us save our little guy while saving a TON of money. No expensive surgery or extended care was needed. Woody is now the happiest, smartest, healthiest Mini Schnauzer weve ever known! THANK YOU DR. AMY!!!

Obviously, these reviews have been written by the vet or their staff. Why does everyone refer to both vets as being good? When there are more than one vet in a place, dont you just use 1? They are phony. Ive used them and I cant tell you how bad they are, deceptive in price quotes, bad with my dog, scared the life out of her, and on top of having to bring my dog there (mistake), I have to deal with them too? I saw Amy, she was awful. I can only think her partner, who is her brother is just as bad. Stay away, even in an emergency, thats when they really stick it to you. Dont fall for the vet trying to sell you their terrible IVD food either when youre there for something else. Yuck!

The reviews are accurate! I am so upset with that small animal hospital after reading on yelp what was taking place with the male vet doctor. The report on him is under public record it has nothing to do with being a competitor! I was bringing my dog there for a few years and i should have seen the warning signs when they would not let me see where i had my dog boarded, very odd. They also seemed like they were trying to make money off of me by saying he needed all these extra medications for something very simple. I will not be going back! knowing i left my dog there makes me sick!!!
