Dear Receptionist: Please do not refer to patients as "that one" when discussing them with the doctor. Also, please stop being so loud with patients when obtaining information at the front desk. How about a pleasant voice when answering the phone too? Perhaps this is not the job for you. It seems obvious you hate your job. You are the face of the business, the first point of contact. Dear Management: The reception area seats are way too close to where the receptionist has to obtain info from patients. Everything is within earshot. How about some instrumental music in that area so its not so quiet (dont run the risk of compromising HIPAA laws); and a receptionist who speaks softer? Also, in between each section in the back where the cleaning is done, it is too open, and too close to each patient. I do not want to be privy to what is going on with the patient to the right or my left and certainly dont want them in my business. Maybe some patients do not care about their privacy but if I knew that is how your office was laid out I would have never made the appointment. It was my first and last. The X-Ray Tech needs to be mindful that those huge instruments that she shoved in my mouth does not fit everyone equally. Although I am an adult, my mouth is narrow. I had to stop her a few times. One last note. Sarah, the hygienist, was nice and so was Dr. Epstyn.

I went to have a crown put back on that fell out.(I went here to have the root canal done and crown placed so they have done all the work on this tooth) I explained to the dentist the crown was not sitting properly and was causing some great discomfort! The dentist assured me that I just needed to get use to it as I had not had the crown in for 2 weeks. Long story short I could not sleep so called to schedule an appointment and they were closed on a Tuesday. I was able to get an appointment with the dentist in Ramsey who is also part of NJ smiles. She located cement under my gums and inflammation and possible infection! I was put on an antibiotic immediately! I am furious and disgusted with the union office because a simple procedure caused great pain and aggravation that could of easily been avoided! I had all my work sent to the Ramsey office yes its a 35min drive for me verses a 10min to Union but it is well WORTH IT!

I recommend this place. The staff are very nice and helpful including the Dentist. They arent judgemental to someone who had dental issues, and they are there to help you step by step. The service was exceptional, because they were organized, detailed and straight forward when it comes to consultation. I give this place 5 stars, because I tried dental offices in the area and I wasnt happy with the services but this place (Nj smiles union) had me feeling great. I actually would leave my appointment with a smile on my face because I just experienced great service from my dentist. I love Dr Michelle E !!!

My daughter (11) and I were First time patients in the Union office. Scheduled for two cleanings-my daughter was able to get hers - which I have to say looks great but I was told to re-schedule my appointment because everyone had to go to lunch! I took the day off to get this done and thought it was very unprofessional to brush me off. I was on time and waited about an hour before getting into the chair. Sad, but we will prob not be returning.

Dr. Hardeek Patel has been my dentist for the last 7 years and has provided me with great results and is very knowledgeable about the most up to date procedures. His friendly staff is very helpful and always supply me with any reports or x-rays promptly and efficiently. Another important aspect of this practice is their punctuality. I rarely wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. I highly recommend Dr. Hardeek Patel and NJ Smiles.
