I cant say enough great things about Dr. Jennifer Powell and her office staff. I am always greeted professionally and appointments pretty much run on time as they realize my time is as valuable as theirs. Dr. Powell always answers all of my concerns and questions spending whatever time it takes. I feel she truly cares and respects me as a patient and I will continue to go to her. I just got my first progressive lens glasses and felt Mack was very helpful with explaining this change. Dr. Powell asked questions to know where I needed to see small print...and it worked! If you need a caring, pleasant optometrist, she is the one!

Have been coming here for 24 years! Marcus (I am terrible with names, but Im pretty sure thats it!) helped me pick out my first pair of glasses when I was in kindergarten and he is still there, and Sharon at the front desk has also been there for as long as I can remember. That tells me this is truly a great company that must treat their employees as well as they treat their patients. Dr. Powell is also wonderful, very laid back and helpful! When I lived in Wilmington for college and a couple years after, I would drive back to Durham for my yearly eye appointments. Wouldnt go anywhere else!

I saw Dr. Jennifer Powell at Academy Eye Associates and she is an absolute gem. She took an hour with me tweaking my contacts prescription until we found the perfect combination (even though it took a few tries) and its like my whole world just shifted from being standard to hi-def. None of my previous optometrists have ever been so thorough and interested in getting it right. Shes very easy to interact with and talk to and didnt mind my questions at all - highly recommend her!

Dr. Greene is the most caring and level-headed eye doctor that Ive ever had the pleasure of seeing (Ive been going to eye doctors for over 22 years). He explains things in details and helps you understand everything about your eyes and your eye health. His office is smaller than most, but thankfully its like a hidden gem in that its never packed and appointments are not difficult to schedule. The staff is mostly friendly, and the parking is extremely convenient

I have been a patient of Dr. Greene since 1995. In 2007, I decided to try one of those chain eye care offices closer to my home but was very turned off by their high pressure sales and drive thru feel. Even though I now live an hour away from Dr. Greenes office, I wont stray again. He is thorough and gentle, his staff is friendly and caring. Bigger is not always better when it comes to health care and I recommend Dr. Greene very highly!

If you are not using Academy Eye Associates and Dr Powell, you need to ask yourself why! Amazing service, thorough exams, honest feedback on your needs, great eye glass choices. From a warm greeting when you walk through the doors, to awesome customer service by each person involved with your visit, you wont find a better provider out there! Great service and very professional! I have been going to Dr. Greene for several years, but recently went to the new doctor, Dr. Powell. Same great service and professional expertise from Dr. Powell. Those chain places are awful and you feel like you are being herded through. Not at Academy Eye. They take the time to chat with you and talk to you about your eyes. Go here if you have any vision concerns!

My old eye doctor was bought out by "My Eye Doctor" and I was not happy with the new office, so decided to try out Academy and Im very glad I did! My visit to see Dr. Powell and her staff went very smoothly and I think I was in and out within a half hour! Academy Eye Associates is now "my eye doctor" - Thanks!

The wind blew something into my eye and I couldnt get it out because it was stuck under my lid. In straight panic I drove to Dr. Powells clinic and within 30 seconds I was back in her exam room and she took it out!! Couldnt thank her and her staff enough!! They have taken such great care of me!
