I never imagined in a million years that having Abbies teeth pulled would be a good experience, but it was and I am still amazed. Dr. Hoover is really remarkable. Abbie came through the procedure very well and was alert and happy to see me when I picked her up only hours after. She didnt ever fuss with her face. She was sneaking bits of hard food within a week and now (6 weeks later) she eats hard food as a matter of course. And she is happier. She plays now with our other cat like she never has before and she purrs harder, too! Such an easy recovery. The staff at the hospital is great. There is someone right there when you walk in the door and I never had to wait. In fact I arrived early for an appointment and Dr. Hoover saw me right away. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly and the hospital is clean and bright. I have to travel a distance (40 miles one way) and the staff has been helpful in any way they can to accommodate my schedule. Durham is lucky to have the Westside Animal Hospital.

Dr. Hoover, Dr. Broussard, Priscilla, Susan, and the whole staff at Westside are the absolute best and have taken excellent care of our dogs. Our first dog is older than his years, and has been well cared-for with his various and multiple ailments. Our youngest, a black lab, was recently given an undeserved legal label, and the whole staff at Westside went above and beyond to care not only for the physical well-being of our dog, but for the overall well-being of our family. From writing letters on our behalf to attending the hearing, Dr. Hoover and his entire staff showed amazing care and generosity toward our family. We appreciate their efforts tremendously. The label was removed from our sweet dog, and she and we are well, happy, and so thankful for Westside Animal Hospital. I recommended this Vet to our friends before this incident, and I remain steadfastly confident in my recommendation of them. We are ever grateful for your care of our dogs and our family!

I had a great experience at Westside Animal Hospital. All the staff were very informative and kind. From just my first phone call, I felt reassured that my dog would get the best care. I am new to North Carolina and came from 2 hours away. They allowed time for the consultation and procedure so that there would not be additional trips or costs. Also, they were very understanding when I was late because of traffic. Dr. Hoover patiently explained my dogs condition and the process for care.He listened to all my concerns, made me feel at ease and not rushed to make decisions. I have spent a great amount time and money at many different Vets because of my French Bulldogs. Westside Animal Hospital has very reasonable prices with outstanding care. They are very worth my time and money.

Ive had big dogs for 25 years, and have moved vets several times looking for one who would take the time to look at every facet of my "kids", and really pay attention. The latest 2 are foundlings - both with very bad teeth problems - which Dr. Hoover solved beautifully - and while we were there, took the time to really survey them from tip to toe - (where most vets would just look at the mouth and take them directly into surgery....) They offer advice and suggestions, but Ive not had to sit through a hard sell. Alternatives offered, my choice respected - and the entire staff is upbeat, welcoming and gets to know your animals. I drive 30 minutes each way to take them to Dr. Hoover and Dr. Bouchard - and will continue to do so - happily.

My dog, Squirrel, recently had oral surgery at Westside Animal Hospital. Dr. Hoover is one of the kindest and most compassionate veterinarians Ive ever worked with. His staff seems to mimic his style, they are very informed, kind and thorough. My dog has some separation anxiety issues, and they worked her in first and allowed me to pick her up as soon as feasible after surgery. Everything about the procedure was explained in advance, and Dr. Hoover personally called to explain an unexpected finding after my dog was anesthetized. I felt comfortable trusting him and his staff with my dogs needs and would never hesitate to suggest his practice to anyone. Fantastic experience all around!

Wonderful, caring staff and Drs. Broussard and Hoover are truly outstanding professionals. We have a cattle dog/aussie mix whos had more than his share of ailments, and hes always been treated thoughtfully at Westside (right down to the very detailed visit reports Dr. Broussard will leave you with!). Theyve also been generous and flexible with us when costs have become an issue. In recent weeks our other dog, a young black lab, was given an undeserved label by a local animal control agency. Westside went above and beyond normal vet care in their advocacy for our dog. Their support was crucial, and the label was removed. Cant recommend Westside highly enough.

The Westside Animal Hospital and Dr. Don Hoover did an AMAZING job with my 2-yr-old shiba inu after she split her tooth chewing on a bone. It was the first surgery she ever had and the first time this puppy-momma had to deal with such an event, but the staff and vets did a spectacular job. I also had a great experience filing the surgery paperwork with my pet insurance, Trupaninion, who dispensed a check to me within two weeks of the surgery - all of which was made possible by the great and helpful staff at Westside Animal Hospital. I highly, highly recommend this hospital for any of your pet needs.

Excellent across the board. Over the last five years, I havent met a single employee here who wasnt friendly, considerate, communicative, and kind. Both doctors are excellent, give great care and are animal-loving while being reasonable and realistic with owners--I have never felt pressured or guilted into any procedures, tests, or practices. Information and services are offered but not forced. The facility is clean and appointments run on time but never feel rushed. I still take my cats here even though I moved across town. Worth it. Thank you, Westside!

Dr. Hoover is so kind and generous with his time and expertise. We had a dog at the Orange County Animal Shelter that needed advanced dental surgery. He donated his time, materials, wonderful facility and expertise to help with the surgery and we will now be able to place Roxie for adoption soon! His new dental suite is extremely well outfitted with state of the art anesthesia monitoring and dental equipment and a very knowledgeable staff. Thanks again so much to a wonderful colleague! Wanted to take a moment to thank Dr. Broussard and the staff at Westside for taking such good care of my mothers dog, Jojo. She is getting up in her years, but thanks to the help of the Westside crew.....she still thinks she can be as active as a puppy. The whole family appreciates the care she has been receiving since she became part of our family some 10+ years ago, and with that special care we hope the rest of her years here are just as good.

I would like to start with a big WOW!!! If you want a clinic, staff, and a veterinarian that will give you the best care for your pet, and care for you as well, this is the place to go. Dr. Hoover is a very knowledgeable and caring person. He is at the top of his profession about animal dentistry!
