Had to remake my glasses 4 times. After multiple mistakes in measurements for lenses, both by the opticians and mistakes by the lab (and a defective anti glare coating on one pair) Dr Apfel reexamined me to make sure my prescription was right (even though Dr Dirr was who I saw originally, I would have returned to him). No problems there, but during our meeting he made sure to point out the fact that he was taking time out of his "busy day" to retest me and also that he was out frames (first frames werent able to be adjusted for proper tilt, something that should have been checked before ordering) and multiple lenses, and implied that I was just being picky or sensitive. Worst customer service ever on his part, he was more concerned with his bottom line, not with making sure I could see properly with the glasses his business sold me.

I read the "Horrible Doctor" review. I dont doubt that this person had an argument with Dr. Apfel that did not go well, but my experience with Dr. Apfel has been excellent. Im an engineer, so I appreciate someone with a passion for technical mastery in his profession, and I see this in Dr. Apfel. As hes treated the high pressure in my eyes for the last year, hes always excitedly trying the latest systems to test my vision, track damage to my optic nerve, determine whether I need to use eye drops, try one medication after another until he starts to get good results. I agree he seems very proud and perhaps somewhat arrogant, but I think this stems from confidence that he is extremely competent and in touch with the latest research in his field. Hes always upbeat and friendly.

The female doctor is wonderful. I agree with the "Horrible Doctor", Dr. Apfel is a bit creepy. Also, there costumer service is horrible. I scheduled an exam and when I arrived they canceled. I was waiting 10 mins before the women at the desk informed me of this. My parents had rearranged their work so they could be there with me. The women at the desk told me that she did not have time to make a 2 min call to tell me that my exam was cancelled. How rude. Since then, we have switched doctors. I would not recommend going to get your eyes checked there.

The Doctors here are great however a few individuals in the front are anything but friendly. I simply called with a question about my bill and I was so shocked by the attitude I received on the other end of the phone I was speechless for a solid 15 seconds. A word of advice if you hate your job that much, QUIT. Dont take your frustrations out on customers. Hopefully the doctors can teach their staff what customer service is. I will for sure be going to Lens Crafters from this point on.

My first visit to this office was great! I had next to no waiting before being called back, the staff was friendly, the office was clean and modern and it was the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. I would recommend Dr. Hornberger without a second thought.

Horrible doctor (Apfel)- arrogant and unprofessional. Overcharges services. Was verbally attacked and offended by Dr. Apfel after questioning pricing of services than was told to go somewhere else. VERY WEIRD DR.

The wait was long and their contact "fitting" fee was way overpriced (nearly $100 more than I have paid anywhere else).
