I saw Dr. Lauer this morning and had a wonderful experience from the moment I walked in the door. I was running late (of course!) and the staff was so kind and friendly; no one made me feel guilty for running 10 minutes late, which is impressive in the medical world! Velma, the guest relations rep at the desk when you walk in, was warm and outgoing, pouring me coffee and offering other amenities. Kayla presented me with paperwork after I was checked in and brought me a gift bag full of cool stuff; a reusable bag, coffee travel mug, full-sized mouth wash, toothpaste, floss and toothbrush. I expected a toothbrush and maybe a small toothpaste but this was an overflowing bag! Janell was my hygienist, and she was also excellent. Not pain, and she was very understanding of my sensitivity to metal instruments picking on my teeth. She made lovely conversation without the ever-awkward issue of trying to talk to someone while you have hands in your mouth. I also want to mention that I know the names of every staff member who helped me because they politely and professionally introduced themselves to me before going to work. Janell also did my x-rays without any discomfort, cleaned, polished and then used a cool laser to detect cavities. In the past, Ive squirmed and cringed while hygienists and dentists jab at my teeth with metal implements, but there was none of that! Sadly, I am no longer in the no-cavity club with a pre-cavity way back on a molar, but Dr. Lauer went over the filling stuff with me and talked about other areas I needed to watch. If Id wanted, I even couldve had the filling done that visit. Greg, from the business office team, went over my insurance coverage with me and helped me schedule an appointment for the filling that fit my schedule better. Everyone was nice and happy, and it seemed like a place where people are genuinely happy to work. They have a wonderful referral program (which is what drew me in! $50 for you and $50 for your friend who made the referral, on a prepaid visa gift card as you check out) and the facility is clean and beautiful. I would recommend this office to anyone; they also offer a great lunch program where they provide a boxed lunch if you have an appointment weekdays 11am-1pm! How cool is that? Feel free to use me as a referral and get yourself (and me!) $50 at your first visit! Im almost excited to go back next week for my filling...

I had a phenomenal experience the first time I came to MVD. The second visit recently, I updated the front desk associates with my new insurance card. When my hygienist brought me back to do xrays I had her confirm with the front desk that these would be covered - I already had xrays within a calendar year and although it was a new insurance I wanted to ensure I wouldnt be charged anything out of pocket. Later during the cleaning she also mentioned a fluoride treatment that was recommended, and I again explained that I didnt want to pay anything that day since this was a preventative appt so she checked with the front desk to see what was covered. My hygienist was great, and the cleaning exactly what I wanted. However, upon check out one of the admins told me that I was apparently incorrect in the fact that my new insurance covers preventative appts in full. I told her that was wrong, since I am the one who administers this policy for my company, and then she sheepishly said....well, its not covered in full... for out of network. Although I should have made a point to ask if Principal was accepted directly, Ive recently changed all my insurance companies and every provider Ive been to has made a point to tell me up front if I was covered or not. Having to enter in my policy when I handed it over, and checking multiple times to see what was covered, they knew immediately that this would be an out of network appt for me. I honestly feel duped, and that it was more important to get the business in over respecting the fact that at 3 points during my appt I said right now I am incredibly cost sensitive and did not want anything that would cost me out of pocket. Instead of being told upfront and I would have not gone through with the cleaning, I now owe a couple hundred dollars. The front desk had me make a future appt "in case I have another new insurance by then", but after feeling completely swindled I think I would be better off going back to the dentist I had and liked in Upper Arlington. This is the first experience in my lifetime I have hated going to the dentist.

BEWARE!!!!! They will tell you they except all insurances, as in all out- of-network insurances but are resistant to tell you that your insurance is not considered in-network until they mail you a bill. At my visit, I made sure to confirm with the office staff that my current dental insurance was accepted and like a robotic routine, I received my answer "We accept all insurances"!!! After receiving the bill, I unfortunately realized my mistake! I did call to follow-up and was told by the receptionist that they do "accept all insurances" but later learned that the only insurance they recognize as in-network is Delta Dental, however will continue to perform cleanings and procedures. Ultimately misleading people to think their care is being adequately covered. Im still awaiting a call from Corey their office manager who has neglectfully failed to respond to a request to chat!!! These people are crooks!!! As you can see from other reviews on various sites, there is a consistent pattern of dishonesty. Additionally, I had my husband call yesterday to schedule an "appointment" and as expected they told him they accepted "all insurances" and refused to acknowledge that our insurance was out-of Network several times as they religiously tried to figure out the perfect time to schedule our incredibly overpriced dental cleaning. It was not until my husband asked for an exact quote, relaying to the receptionist that our dental insurance in the past has had no out-of-pocket expenses, that she then informed us that our insurance was considered out-of network. This place is deliberately misleading its patients!!!! Dont be fooled by the free give-aways and Visa gift cards. Save your time, money and frustration and go somewhere else!

Nice office, friendly reception but they are deceitful. I made an appointment from a referral from a friend who later dislike the office also. I came for my appointment. Get an exam, cleaning x-rays, and get a $50 visa card. I did so. Then 4 weeks later I get a bill i. The mail stating I owed them $69 for an oral exam... what? I was told that was all part of the treatment/deal. Ive been back and forth with my insurance company and was told its there word against mines... this really pissed me off because i kept asking about cost because of all the fancy technology and they kept pushing the treatment plan they developed for me that was almost $2,000. They sent a text to follow up about the treatment and i explained their cost was outrageous. My friend later agreed that the pushed the treatment plan they developed for her and her daughter also. I see why they have to give visa cards to get customers. Smh... i will keep fight this cost because I clearly asked a couple of times during the appointment to confirm there were no cost and they clearly lied if I received a bill. O have yet received a return call. I left another message tonight and a text. VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER... I WILL BE CANCELING THE FUTURE APPOINTMENTS WE MADE AND WILL POST MY REVIEW ALL OVER TO SPARE OTHERS HEARTACHE. Yes its only $69 to some people, however to me thats gas! Especially since i kept checking to ensure I was encountering additional cost.
