First, let me say this review is not a reflection of all staff or the facility as a whole, there are indeed some excellent and kind-hearted nurses and staff members here who deserve to be credited and praised for their hard work. That being said however, I was very disappointed when going to see my fiancées grandmother today. A nurse named Jennifer was using profane language back-talking, and violating HIPPA policy. My future mother-in-law (who is an only child and just lost her father) was there visiting with her mother who has Dementia and Parkinsons and borrowed a little tiny plastic cup from the nursing cart (which was left out unattended) to get her mom a drink. Well this nurse Jennifer in organge scrubs (who had been using the cart as a food tray for herself and eating a bag of cheetos off it) went off on a tangent and proceeded to make a huge production (in front of patients, another nurse, and visitors) and use vulgar language, she called my future mother-in-law a thief and when we kindly asked for her to address any issues in private and in a professional manner she got even louder and got in our faces! Completely abhorrent behavior from a "nurse" not only was it uncalled for but it showed just how unprofessional, sympathize, or caring she is. It is truly terrifying to know someone with serious anger issues and very little patience such as herself is working there and with elderly patients. She kept referring to it as "her" cart, and was yelling obsenities, anyone who has had a family member who suffers from dementia knows how difficult and emotional things can be, my poor future mother-in-law is already to broken-hearted and stressed beyond belief, her father recently passed and her mother is on a feeding tube, just had surgery and is slowly leaving this world, the last thing she needs is to have a nurse yelling in her face over a simple plastic cup. We even tried to calmly handle the situation and politely suggested in the future she address matters privately and calmly instead of loudly going on a tangent to another nurse in front of everyone and using vulgar language and calling her a their and making fun of her and etc. she refused to be civil or work things out and instead got innour faces, yelled, and all that. Completely unacceptable. I know nurses have a difficult job and I more than respect all they do and Im sure she was having a rough day, I get it we all have those but how she acted was unforgivable, please keep in mind how difficult it can be for families too, having to manage bills, not sleeping for nights on end at a hospital, taking time off work, etc.

My aunt was at this facility for physical therapy after a stroke. The care she received was absolutely horrible. During 2 weeks time she received 1shower only after complaining to the administrator although they said she would recieve at least 2 showers per week which i find terrible personally. Even if the patient soils them self they will be lucky to get a shower to clean off. One day she had an accident in her bed and soiled the sheets at 7am and after repeatedly requesting the staff to change the sheets i had to personally pull them off and demanded fresh ones to change them my self and this wasnt until 7pm. The sole purpose of her being there was for physical therapy following a stroke. On the night she arrived i left to purchase a universal remote which you will also need if you want to watch tv. When i returned i witnessed my aunt walking unassisted to her bed while an aid allowed this and watched even tho she was listed as a "fall risk" (after just having a stroke you think this would be obvious). In the 2weeks she was at NLC she received 3 therapy sessions total. She is diabetic but there menu doesnt accommodate for this apparently. The halls consistently stunk of urine and like i mentioned i had to bring her a universal remote for her to control the tv in her room. When thats the only leisure activity you have its kind of important. She received her specialized walker on the day she was released and when asked to adjust it to the appropriate height they refused because her release papers were already signed. Stay away from this facility at all costs no matter what the situation may be there are many other care facilities to choose from. If you care about the treatment and the care of your loved ones heed my advice.
