Where to begin. It is very traumatic when your chld is put in harms way. This group of doctors was recommended highly so I signed up. My child was diagnosed from Childrens with ADHD and a healthy dose of ODD. After years of fighting off medications, I finally explored some. Well, it took a year a trying different combinations. Most of the changes I recommended and we have finally gotten to a point in which he is functioning much better in society. The Doctor was/is good and I do like him, until now. The front desk monsters are horrible. The phone system is the biggest automated piece of junk. To get a sense of the phone system, just call the number. Dont worry, you will not be talking to a human anytime soon, but count on a minimum of 5 minutes of options. Prescriptions are filled ONLY via voice mail, and it is a long drawn out process. Back to the purpose here. The medication my son takes require med check visits. Over the past two days, I have been told they are NOT going to write a prescription because he MUST see him and I failed to make an appointment. This is the second time they have lost his appointment. The first time was an experience with my mother, so it is not just an absent minded single father forgetting in this case. How do I know I made it? Well for the last two months I have been rudely told that I had to, so I did. Now in the face of needing a prescription they refuse to write it, refuse to try to get him in right away, blamed me for the entire incident, and basically do NOT care that my child is facing certain withdrawl and all other problems associated with going off this medication. When pushed to see if I would like the August 14th date, I simply said no that I can get into another pediatrician earlier. She was elated to lose us; absolutely elated. Doctors seem OK, but can be hurried. I guess this is a model of a money making pediatric practice. They are timed down to the second to maximize profitability. I am moving to another pediatrician. He will have to endure the withdrawl. Urgent Care wont do it, and every other pediatrician is booked in the short term and ethically cannot prescribe without seeing him (this seems realistic to me). But guess what, they all are shocked by the decision of his doctor. Bottom line, if you like the big business model, go for it. If you like a Doctors office that cares and is compassionate and appears to want to work with humans, not the best place to go. -Update- My sisters doctor is appalled by this situation and has agreed to see Nicky on Monday. Wow, thank God for a compassionate doctor.

Wow. So much to review. Apologies if this is TLDR, but read on for an overview of our recent experience: 1. Arrival to check-in window - staffer told me she would be with me in a minute. You see, she was cleaning a bottle of hand sanitizer and that activity was way more important than immediately welcoming/assisting me. I waited. I waited some more. I moved to another window. 2. The staff does not dress professionally. There does not seem to be a medical office dress code. Some wear random scrubs. One staffer wore a superman tee shirt . An examination "room helper" (um...what is that position and what is the professional training?), a staff person who looked all of 18 years old, wore clothing worthy of a skater dude. Maybe the thought is to appear less intimidating to children? I found it sloppy. 3. After a nurse and her room helper performed the usual height/weight/blood pressure/heart rate/ activities, we were told that the doctor would "be in right away." However, 45 minutes deep into our appointment time, there was still no sign of the doctor. With no further communication from anyone, and the time advancing, I walked out of the examination room and inquired on the doctors ETA. I was told that he was currently with a patient, and that there were two other patients ahead of us. (!!!) So, finishing up with current patient, plus properly seeing two other patients - I was estimating additional wait time of 40-50 minutes, easily. And then there was the time needed to manage our visit, which included vaccines - so, another 30 or so minutes. Yeah. We didnt have that kind of time. We left. And we will not be back. So frustrating. Communication? Time management? Both are lacking at this practice. I did ask to speak with an office manager. I wasnt able to, naturally. So, I simply informed another staffer of my issues, for whatever that was worth. Probably not much. Note: Last years annual visit ended the same way. While we were able to see the doctor within a normal time frame, strangely, I was told that a cholesterol screen was usually performed at my sons age. Random and weird - but i went with it. However, after the doctor left the room - no one ever returned to perform the screen, or to communicate why they had not returned to perform the screen. After waiting an additional 25 minutes for said the screen - we left. Ugh. This place.

I had the worst experiences at this office. When your child is sick or if they are going in for a routine exam the last thing you want or need is someone to be rude, un-caring, or pushy...well this is what you will get every time you go to this office. The first group of secretaries or whatever they are have to be the rudest, meanest, and just plain witchy with a B. After going to this office for a few years with 2 children at no time were we ever greeted with care or hospitality. After the signing the same forms over and over with no changes and signing the mandatory PAY NOW if no insurance forms we would sit. Granted usually not very long in the waiting area, but usually a while in the rooms. We went to various doctors through our time there and never found one we liked, it was always the lesser of the evils. There was never any caring, just a lot of cold in and out push. Which is not want you want with your child. I really wondered several times if the doctors even liked children, we know that the front girls dont. We went on several occassions with what we knew were ear infections and the doctors said no, just the flu. So after horrific nights and high temperatures that didnt subside we would go back the next day. And WOW, an ear infection and they would finally give my child medicine after they had to endure a night of HECK!!! Thanks doctors. This I know happened on at least 7 occassions with 2 children over 3 years. I can understand maybe once because of no symptoms, but COME ON!!! If you would spend more than 1/2 a second on the child!!!! Oh yeah, I also cant forget about having to pay the CoPays for each visit, even with mis-diagnosis on the ear infections. Nothing like spending $30 for a copay for nothing and then coming in the next day and spending another $30 for a copay on an ear infection.......maybe it is on purpose, maybe not. So we finally took our own advise that we should have listened to several years ago and went to another practice.....it is NIGHT and DAY and we are so happy we left!!! I felt so bad having to put my children through going there. They never listened to complaints and never really cared. Just churn em and burn em. Not where you want to take your child that you love and care for.
