Its never fun when you have to get wisdom teeth extracted. I had put it off for over a year until finally the discomfort became too great. I was not optimistic about the procedure in any way. The staff at Solon Dental Excellence was courteous and caring. They worked with my schedule for my appointment. I had to reschedule twice. Dr. Saleh who does wisdom teeth extractions was on stall every other Friday which made scheduling inconvenient, but in the end it was worth the wait! Even during the consultation process, I was in and out in about 20 minutes in which I had x-rays taken and an overview of the procedure discussed. They even checked my insurance policy while I was there. Once the day came for my procedure, it was done in under one hour. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous. Everyone in the front office was very reassuring and genuine. They told me that Dr. Saleh was quick and experienced. There was no wait, I was immediately shown to a room where an assistant applied numbing gel to my gums. In about five minutes or so, Dr. Saleh was there ready with the local anesthetic. He was very thorough to make sure I would not feel anything during the procedure, which I am truly grateful for. Once the procedure began, it was nerve wracking to feel the pressure on my jaw and to see the tools go into my mouth, but like they promised, I barely felt anything. A humorous point in the procedure was when they asked me to close my jaw, and I couldnt. Dr. Saleh asked if Ive ever had a problem with my jaw before and I shook my head no. I was a little bit concerned. He then placed his thumbs in my mouth and manually manipulated it shut telling me it was not much to worry about. It was most likely that the anesthetic had temporary made me lose control over the jaw muscles. We all had a little chuckle. Of the three teeth I had removed, only one location in the gums needed stitches. That was my most problematic tooth where a cyst had developed prior to the procedure. Today is exactly one day after the procedure and despite the swelling, I can already feel relief in certain muscles around my jaw. For a while before the procedure, I had developed a bit of an underbite from the wisdom teeth pushing my lower jaw forward. As a result it was creating stress on certain jaw muscles. I highly recommend Solon Dental Excellence, they made scheduling my appointment painless, were very professional, and they truly care. The decor and cleanliness of the place contributed to easing my nerves quite a bit. Walking into the waiting room was like walking into a living room. The place was spotlessly clean and brightly lit. The patient rooms had fun tropical paintings on them and it did help enhance my mood.

My family was looking for a new dentist. Solon Dental Excellence was in our network, so since my son was having trouble with his teeth, I sent him to this dentist. The dentist said he needed a deep cleaning which was covered by our insurance. My son said OK assuming the dentist knew what they were talking about. Well, according to my insurance company, my sons teeth were not bad enough to require a deep cleaning. If the test had shown certain criteria, the insurance company would have paid 80%. Instead, they did not pay anything and we were left having a bill of $440. Make sure if you use this dentist, they get pre-approval. I wish I had. :( I got a call from Solon Dental Excellence on 12/18/13 in short saying they knew this review was from me. I told Sharon I stood by my review. She said she was going to offer to forget my balance by now she was not. I mailed Solon Dental Excellence my check for $271 as I had budgeted for that paycheck on 12/19/13. Good thing I did. The day after Sharon called me 12/19/13, she referred my account to a collection agency named First Federal Credit Control, Inc. My check was not cashed until I called this agency. Nothing came of this action but you judge for yourself if you want to go through something like this. In response to the dentist, my husband had that diagnosis not my son! Our previous dentist did not recommend deep cleaning for my son.

After an initial visit to Solon Dental Excellence, I was told I had three cavities and made an appointment to have them filled. During the filling, the young lady working on them said that she had found 2 more (strange considering I go to the dentist every six months and brush my teeth/floss daily). Well before I went there I had no pain whatsoever and since that visit I have had nothing but pain in every tooth they worked on. After visiting another dentist in the area, I was told that the fillings were done way too deep and the nerve was exposed. Unfortunately, this means I need to have some extensive and costly work done to fix their mistake. Stay away from this place! Whatever you do, dont tell them you have insurance or they will miraculously find more work to do! BTW my wife had the exact same experience with them and also needs to have her issues corrected by a more competent practice.

The same thing other people are talking about happened to me! I thought it was a nice place to go, but unfortunately they are not proactive about checking whats covered by insurances and whats not. Even worse, they tell you they have actually checked and later you get a ghost bill from your insurance saying that there were no medical reasons why you had to get a certain procedure done, so of course the insurance will not cover the expense. This happened to me several times in different ways until I got fed up. I want my care provider to be someone I can trust to make the call about when a procedure is actually necessary to be done and when its a "nice to have" (e.g. aesthetics) that the patient can choose to get done (and pay for). My experience here was more of a sales environment rather than a care environment, so unfortunately they lost my trust.

This place gave me a root canal. 2 years later I got an infection because the canal was way to long and almost hitting the bone. 2 dentist told me it was malpractice so I returned and they drilled a hole through my new cap to fix the problem. 1 year later the tooth they drilled through cracked from the weakened filled hole. They replaced the cap and wanted to charge me 1200 for fixing it. If they didnt botch the canal in the first place I wouldnt have had a hole in the cap and weaken it in the first place. As a contractor, if I screwed up something in a wall and had to cut open the wall to repair it. I wouldnt charge my client for repairing the damaged wall for something I screwed up to begin with. I do not recommend this place nor does my new dentist. I have a copy of the botched canal so maybe I should post it on here too.

I have always had bad teeth & worse experience at dental offices... until I was recommended here by a friend here and could not be happier. Everyone is extremely nice and very helpful. Unfortunately, I did not start here with my braces (and cannot afford to bail out and repay from where I am currently treated) but I will be finishing my teeth here with implants and finishing touches! I have been a client for a little over a year. I have had 2 cleanings which actually make my teeth feel clean (If you have braces you would understand). Other places I had gone with braces did such a poor job in comparision. I also had a root canal which was painless! As well as they are very workable with the place I am currently at with my braces. I cannot wait until Solon Dental is my only place I go to for my teeth!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
