My personal patient-care provider experience with NP Palmer was positive. I tried to get my son in with one simple request, send orders for blood work to their in-house lab so that the dr or nurse practitioner could have my sons labs for review during the first visit and they absolutely refused to order blood work before the first visit. I told them my son struggles with obesity and I wanted a complete workup. I have the best insurance offered in the state of Ohio, my insurance would have covered a COMPLETE panel on my son. They adamantly refused. They wanted an initial visit, then send us to a lab followed by another visit. First, how inefficient is that? Second, what working professional has the time to take off work to accommodate three separate trips to the doctors office? Its all about $$$ here. They can make BS excuses about needing to know what particular blood tests to order, I made it simple, run the gammut! Test his kidneys, liver, thyroid, everything. Nope, that would have been too easy and would not have produced multiple follow-up visits. This practice is in the business of booking appointments, thats why there are SO many nurse practitioners and doctors in one office. They are not working for the best interest of their patients or assisting patients in reducing healthcare costs. No moderately healthy to healthy person should require more than 1-2 visits per year, this place tries books you every 2-3 months, just for simple blood pressure medicine follow ups! My BP has been under control for two years and they still try to get me in there before every Rx refill request, thats once every three months! Christ thats 4 vacation days a year just to see these idiots for a med refill! My wife is a Med-Surg nurse, I think she knows when to call my dr and let them know if my BP is EVER not controlled with my current Rx. You will get better care at a 24 hour clinic than here. Stay away if you value your time, your money, and your health because this place is all about the bottom line, $$$

I have seen 2 nurse practioner here. I can never get in to see the doctors. It was horrible. One gave me the worse advice about my diastasis recta Bc she didnt know anything about it. I first came in for pain n my stomach n the second time for my annual physical. Where she prescribed me something for my pcos but never told me what it was for. Later I found out from th inet that it was for diabetes which can b helpful for pcos but it can cause major stomach pain if not started n low doses...... I already had major stomach pain. It got worse. Also they said they were gonna order a test for me n contact me... never heard from them until a mth later when more pain started. I eventually (within 2 wks of taking it, it started) had pain n my upper right quadrant I saw the second np that same day. I was worried about gallstones. I waited 25 min n the lobby and 35 n the room. She barely felt my stomach n stated "it doesnt seem u need surgery if the pain worsens go to the ER. Theres nothing else we can do for u here". No ultrasound ordered nothing. I got frustrated n just went ahead n left after I saw she had no idea what a diastisis recta was n was giving me advice that could actually make it worse. Oh and she was supposed to refer me to 2 other specialists..... and never heard from them again. Just like before!! This office made me feel hopeless n took a week for me to keep calling n begging n complaining for them to order me an ultrasound Bc of my pain (scheduled 2 wks after that, so 3 wks). I ended up having to go to the ER anyways. Worse office I have ever dealt with.

Rude Staff and Doctors who Know Very Little My story is much the same as everyone elses. I started going to them two years ago. I hardly ever go to the doctor to begin with, but needed one as Ive been increasingly been getting ill. After my fourth appointment, I realized I had been sent home each time with a bill and NO help. Ive gone in for neck pain, back pain, rib pain, other issues - each time I was either told "its your fault youre experiencing this pain" or "I dont know what is causing the pain, but here are some meds". How are you able to hand out meds when you cant diagnose the problem? Last time I called for an appointment, the receptionist was extremely rude and told me I needed to pay part of my bill (which I hadnt even received in the mail yet). I asked to be transferred to billing, she spat out the numbers (which I asked her to repeat when I was ready), and hung up on me. The bill had been sent in the mail one day before this conversation - not even posted to my portal. Just rude.

Ive been to this practice 3 times and seen 3 different practitioners, had multiple phone conversations, and talked with various staff members. It is difficult to get in, usually 2 week wait for an appt. Receptionists are consistently short (borderline rude and unhelpful), and it should not take 8 minutes to find an established patient in the computer system! Many of the staff (all levels) are cold and unfriendly, some dont seem to listen. Slow to return calls. At my first appt I took in my Rx bottles for them to copy and they got one entered into the system wrong! Made an appt specifically to ask that another rx be changed; Phys Asst refused because she didnt believe what I was saying, then after labwork said if I wanted to change rx I had to make *another* appt!

Dr. Terry Slayman has been my physicican for more than 15 years. The practice always has time to see me. If Terry is not available there is always an option to see one of his partners. I have seen Dr. Richard many times as he has been in practice with Dr. Slayman many years. Dr. Slayman is on staff at Mt. Carmels St. Anns, for sure. He is a doctor that makes rounds (can you believe doctors still do that?). I have sent 100s of students to see doctors at this practice and have never heard anything but a good word. If you find yourself waiting for some time in the lobby, remember that the doctors will be giving you the same personal, one on one attention that you will receive when its your turn.

This place is HORRIBLE! They give regular drug screens which I have NO PROBLEM with. I had an appointment with a random doctor after 5 years for my drug screen. I then received a notice with TWO sentences saying that they could not fill my prescription anymore b/c of "INCONSISTENT RESULTS". When I contacted them for more details they refused to tell me what it meant. Then proceeded to tell me that I should be fine b/c their are "NO WITHDRAW SYMPTOMS FROM ADDERALL". I told them I wanted to see the results they said they didnt have them available I could try to contact the lab and get the results myself. They WOULDNT even schedule an appointment with my actual doctor to explain. RIDICULOUS!!

Do not go here. Went in with substantial chronic stomach pain and saw doctor Hughes. She did absolutely nothing, barely gave any thought to what I could possibly have, and was only concerned about pushing me out the door as quickly as possible. For a 10 minute office visit I received no insight on what i could potentially have and received a bill for over $100. Ive spoken with other people who have had similar experiences and this is not the first time Ive given this place a chance. They are the perfect example of everything that is wrong with healthcare today.
