I am one to look over reviews before I follow through with something. Meadowlands was certainly misleading with the posted google reviews. I recently came home from vacation one night and met my dog (a 5 year old Husky) at the door like every time I come home. However, the next morning my pup wouldnt stand up without yelping and crying. I called her local vet, Crossroads, who advised that they were booked up until later that day. I kept calling around to find a vet to get her in immediately as this was not normal behavior for my dog. I called Meadowlands who told me I had to provide a credit card to get her in for an appointment (about 2 hours from the call). I followed through and had Dr. Sarah McKinley DVM take a look. Dr. McKinley in my mind was a little too quick to assumption and appeared to be after the big repairs rather than looking at the real problem. She felt my dogs left leg and within less than 5 minutes, determined my dog had an ACL tear and that I had to schedule surgery within the next 2 weeks or it could get worse. Knowing better, I scheduled an appointment with her vet, Dr. Schroeder at Crossroads. Dr. Schroeder began by watching her walk down the hallway before doing a thorough physical exam and x-rays (about 1/3 of the cost that Meadowlands quoted me). After the exam Dr. Shroeder was adamant that the injury wasnt with the ACL but more so of a pulled muscle or inflammed anal glands. A different pain/anti-inflammatory medication was prescribed and three days later my dog is back to normal. This review isnt to talk down about Meadowlands, but to encourage you animal owners to get a second opinion and to ask many questions. I could have been out $3,000 and possibly a best friend if things didnt go well or if I didnt take the extra step to get another opinion.

Meadowland Veterinary Center is The Best vet I have ever taken a pet to. The staff are friendly, helpful and its a welcoming environment. Dr. Slobody is hands down the nicest vet I have ever gone to. He is so friendly, sweet to your pet and never makes you feel uncomfortable or guilty when you bring an animal in with an issue, which is why I switched from my prior vet in 2010. When I brought my cat in and found out she would have to be put down, he was caring and sympathetic. He didnt rush me and helped me feel better about the decision. They even gave me a clay imprint of her paw with her name on it, for free. He is very understanding that I have an old dog with a lot of issues and not a lot of money. He explains every illness or injury in detail and discusses all options in order to find the best one for her, while doing everything he can to save me the most money, which is something I have never really experienced before. I wish I had never gone to any other vet.

I love this hospital and so do my fur babies! I brought my rat in for a sick visit a couple of months ago and Dr. Corrine Ross genuinely cared about my concerns about his respiratory condition and didnt pass me off as over reacting. He got a lot better and is doing great! Most recently, I brought my 8wk old puppy in for her first exam. All of the staff were very friendly with her, and she ended up falling asleep on the exam table! The staff have been very patient in answering all of my questions as this is my first time owning such a young puppy. I would recommend this place to anyone! :)

Absolutely amazing vet. Dr. Ross is fantastic. For anyone who is looking for someone good to take ferrets, here is the place. They did everything they could and more for mine, took her in without an appointment and did emergency surgery the same day. They put up with me running up there almost every day after and happily did everything they could every time. The people who work here are beyond incredible, I trust my fur babies in their arms over any other clinic. It takes special humans to look after animals with such genuine love and care, this clinic is full of those people.
