I would never take any animal to this place. I quit going here years ago. When we moved here in 1993 I started taking my pet there as we adopted them. The service went from Bad to I cant believe this really happened. On two occasions I wrote letters complaining about treatment & what I would witness in this place & never received any response. On one occasion I was waiting for my appointment & an elderly couple ( in their 80s) came in clutching their dog (her baby) to her chest crying stating the dog was very ill & would most likely have to be put to sleep. This Poor woman was in tears & it was so sad. This Receptionist did not show 1 sign of Any kind of compassion to this couple did not offer to take her to room to discuss what the cost were, she just kept talking in a Business voice telling the the charges. WoW really why not take these poor people into a room for some privacy. It was already a bad situation for them & she just made it worse. Okay now when my cat Mimi was dying I took my cat in there to them & the Vet whoever it was at that time just blurted out Oh Your Cat is Dying We should Put Her Down Right Now. They wanted to take her in the back away from me & do this. Really?? I told them No thank you & took to Keizer Vet Clinic & had Dr. Gerard look at her & was all ready to have her put down but he told me to leave her there with them for the weekend & they did not even charge me for leaving her there except for any food or meds. She was okay when i picked her up , but told me she would be okay for a little while & when it was time I would know. And true to his word she was okay for a little while & within a month I had to take her in, but they kindness they showed me & the compassion exceeded all my expectations. Mimi was put to sleep but I thank God for Keizer Vet Clinic

First off, Dr. Mills is awesome. This said, he is to far removed from the every day operation of his business it is ridiculous. The "techs" and front office staff must be straight from some diploma mill because they are all very unprofessional. They dont return phone calls, seem to have no compassion for the animals and cant even seem to figure out how to get your papers together to pay a bill. I waited at the counter the other day with my sick dog for ten minutes waiting for some fat lady to get off her butt to actually go get our invoice. Today I had a question about our dog which we took in last week and the lady I spoke with said a vet would call me back. That was at 10:00 this morning and it is now 4:00 in the afternoon with no feedback. So guess what, I will take my business elsewhere. When the care of the animal is at the bottom of a vets priority list it is time to go elsewhere. Sadly, this is the road Companion Pet Clinic has gone. Hey Dr. Mills, get your act together and get your business running right!

They have treated three of my animals here. Years ago I had an indoor/outdoor cat who came home one afternoon with a large wound on her side. Took her straight into companion and they treated her, then showed me in detail how to care for the wound and within a week my cat was back to normal (better then paying emergency fees at a vet hospital, low cost clinic prices even for emergency situations.) My dog regularly goes here for her yearly shots and check ups, and she was chipped at a very low cost. My other cat who was coming up on her 20th birthday had suddenly gone down hill (loss of back legs), I took her in here and no questioned asked they peacefully put her to sleep. The staff was understanding and sympathetic. They are also partnered with a pet cremation company who charges a decent price to be able to keep your pet forever at home with you. I recommend this vet to anyone who wants caring and loving staff to care for their pets, at a very affordable cost!

I went in a week ago to ask for some information. As soon as i walked in there were 3 ladies on front counter NOT ONE of them greeted me! I consider that totally rude If you are running a business a greeting and a smile is the first thing a client/future client should see. I proceed to the counter one of the girls was doing some filing one was on computer and the other was by side door getting some papers. anyway i walk up to the lady that was sitting in front of computer she didnt even look at me so I was standing there for about 30sec til the lady by the side door greeted me she was friendly and very nice but by this time i was already disappointed in this place. I hope supervisors have an eye on their front counter personnel and remind them that this is a business and a smile goes a long way not just because this is a walking in clinic people should take how RUDE your receptionist are.

I will never go back there again! They conveniently lost blood work. and four days after they took the blood from my dog he died.??? Cant prove anything, but I know something happened when they had my dog in the back without me. Because he changed the moment they brought him back into the room he was not the same. and then died just days later? Whats really up? This happened last August And it still hurts today. I would take the one star way but I had to put one here just to be able to put my review up. I go to the VCA animal hospital in so. Salem, its a little more money but well worth it. There is a professional staff and I believe much better doctors. And they are open 24 seven. If you love your pet dont take it to companion pet clinic !! In my opinion they murdered my pet... You get what you pay for when you go to companion pet clinic. And its not good!

We recently moved to Salem and bought a puppy. We didnt know anyone here to recommend us a Veterinarian. While shopping at Petsmart we saw Banfield Animal Hospital. Tried to get an appointment at Banfield for a couple of months but sadly they could not meet our busy schedule. Accidentally I found Companion Pet Clinic and called to make an appointment. I was thrilled to learn that its a walk - in clinic and we can stop by when convenient for us. Took our puppy in today for shots. The staff was professional and very helpful. Dr Mills is a gem, you can tell he loves animals and his job. He is very knowledgeable and takes his time to answer any questions you might have. You are not rushed like at a lot of Veterinary Clinics. Very happy we decided to go to Companion Pet Clinic. I highly recommend this location for all your pet needs.

We had a really friendly veterinarian. He was really thorough with our dog and he explained things as he went. They seemed to be pretty affordable to me so I am not sure why the reviews say that this place is expensive...It also seemed to me that the staff was pretty awesome as well. I called with a million questions about this and that and what the cost of things were and she researched every question I had and did not get frustrated or rude once. I will definitely go back as this place seems to have the most competitive prices and very friendly staff.
