There is nothing more I hate from a business then the old BAIT & SWITCH or the OH, BY THE WAY add on to your final bill. Being disabled and on a fixed income you would think that people would be less likely to take advantage of you. NOT TRUE. Think of all the contractors out there that prey on senior citizens. Well, Dr. Lang and the gang at Cochranton Animal Hospital are NO DIFFERENT. I now have had not one but TWO experiences where they change the fees for my visit from that of which it should have been. Recently, I made an appt. for my pet to get two shots. Not only does it cost more than double what I would pay in Erie, which is fine for the convenience BUT THEN they tack on an additional $38.00 for some yearly wellness exam when they know my dog gets examined a couple times a month already as he is undergoing a treatment plan that already costs me over a hundred a month. WHY, why cant businesses just do their job the right way and then they would not have to gouge us out of our money. If they treated the pet owners with more compassion, they would find that they could RETAIN more regular customers in which their business would then thrive. Instead, they follow their greed and look at the short end and not FOCUS on the long term. Today a doctor did everything right to earn my business and they ripped me off only to make me remember why I dont normally go there to begin with. That is a whole different story one in which we will discuss at a later time. So BEWARE, you may go in just expecting a 20-30 bill but you put yourself at risk of being charged a greater amount and what are you gonna do, call the police, file a claim? Nope you are going to let them get away with it because it is a hassle to do anything about it. NOT ME, I got time to fight it with my credit card company and to write review after review WARNING folks of the fact that Cochranton Animal Hospital has a common practice of overcharging. I am very disappointed and will NOT give them a third chance to rip me off. Also if I can stop someone else from going I feel like I have helped our community.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is absolutely terrible. My poor dog was in an accident and we rushed him to the vet. It was the day after christmas and we were distraught to see it might be closed but thought we were lucky at the sight of a vehicle. I was beside myself with fear as I begged him to help me as my dog lay dying in my arms. He looked me square in the face and said you need to calm down, I cant stand handling people in a state like you are in. I brought him in with my mother and laid him on the table and again the vet looked me in the face and said you need to leave, I want you out of here. He berated my mother about how we should have called first and that was about all he could say. Needless to say my poor dog passed away. This is not the first time we have had issues either. One of our dogs was in a dogfight and was also dying, all the vet cared to do was ask numerous questions and when he was asked can we bring her in or not, he HUNG UP on my brother in law. Again an emergency situation with absolutely no thoughtfulness, compassion or concern. She was taken to greenville vet where they showed the upmost respect for both her and ourselves. She passed away at the facility but we know she was taken care of with care by those that worked there. I have no words I can find to describe how unprofessional this is for a facility that is supposed to care for injured and sick pets who are members of families. This includes not only helping the animal, but helping their owners to cope. This aspect was not done. If you have to go anywhere even in an emergency, go to greenville. This was not the christmas I had ever dreamed would happen and this experience made it all the more heartbreaking.

The staff at the Cochranton Veterinary Hospital couldnt be any better. After being attacked by a pit bull when MacGyver was only 9 months old, Dr. Lang was the emergency vet on call and saved our puppys life. At that time, we were given choices for his care and were never pressured into anything. We opted to take our puppy home after Dr. Lang performed surgery on his wounds. We returned periodically for his follow-up care and were surprised at how reasonable the bill was after all the care, the medicine, and the supplies that MacGyver had received. MacGyver continues to see Dr. Lang, and he most recently had an appointment on January 20, 2015. Once again we were given choices for his care. For example, we were asked if we wanted to see the doctor, or if we just wanted MacGyver to have his vaccination. We had a couple concerns, so we opted to see the doctor. The doctor was very thorough and did not rush at all. He examined MacGyver, answered our questions, and gave us choices once again regarding his care. Before our appointment was over, MacGyver was licking the doctors face! Needless to say, the care is very special at the Cochranton Veterinary Hospital, and the charges are more than reasonable. We wouldnt take our now 2 year old dog, MacGyver, anywhere else.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my first (but certainly not last) experience at Cochranton Veterinary Hospital. I found a very sweet stray dog near where I work who was obviously having almost an impossible time swallow due to something stuck in his mouth. Im on a tight budget but couldnt leave the poor dog in that condition. I called around to several places and Cochranton was the only one who would see me same day. They were absolutely wonderful! I am on a tight budget and after initially checking him out, they gave me an incredibly reasonable estimate before they proceeded. I have had awful experiences in the past of being incredibly over-charged without warning and appreciated this soooo much. Honestly. It was one of the best vet experiences I have ever had both with my own animals as well as various rescues over the years. Because of them "yellow dog" was able to eat and drink like a normal dog this morning and looking 100% better than he was 48 hours ago. And Im not in the poor house. I know where I will be taking my own dog from now on! Thank you so much to everyone who helped this poor sweet boy!!

I love the staff and the doctors at Cochranton Veterinary Hospital. The staff are all very kind and compassionate. I had to have one of my dogs put to sleep and they gave me time to say good bye to my girl and they spoke very kindly of my silly girl and what a good patient she had been. It was lovely that I didnt have to break my bank to relieve her suffering as well. All of my animals have been treated kindly and with respect and the doctors take the time to explain things and answer questions and treat me like I do have a brain and dont talk to me like I am an idiot. All this for a reasonable price !
