My family has been going to Chestnut Dental for a year now. I have been to many dentists in the past. I never before was able to say that I enjoy going to the dentist… until I found Dr. Horchos and Dr. Loughlin. From the moment you step in the front door, you feel the warmth and respect their dental office provides. From the receptionist to the billing to the dental technicians, I have not found anything but perfect and kind service. The previous dentist we went to was highly rated in the area. However, their billing department made some huge mistakes in estimating our out of pocket costs. In the end, we got no apology or any kind of compensation, just a “pay up your balance!” Immediately, we switched dentists and so glad we did. Every bill estimate they have given us has been 100% accurate to the penny. They have also found mistakes that the previous “highly rated” dentist made. Both of my children come to Chestnut Dental as well. In the past, my oldest son would not allow any dentist to even look in his mouth. It was a struggle just to get him into the chair. On his first appointment with Dr. Loughlin, he hopped right up in the chair and has allowed them to do everything. He has full trust in them. When he comes home after an appointment he is excited to take excellent care of his teeth to make us and his dentist proud. I have referred many of my patients to Chestnut Dental as well as my family. Their knowledge and willingness to thoroughly explain every procedure has been reassuring. I would trust no one else!

Overall, the office is clean and the staff is friendly. Dr. Horchos was funny and attentive. However, when I initially contacted this office to schedule an appointment, they told me they were in my insurance providers network. I made multiple appointments to have fillings redone and a crown done. It was only after I made my first payment towards the crown (over $300), that I questioned why the office sent me a second bill for over $500. When I called the office the receptionist stated that she could arrange a payment for me SINCE I WAS SUFFERING FROM FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES. She rudely assumed that I couldnt afford the work I was having done. It was only after I spoke with a second receptionist that they admitted fault. Apparently when they submitted the first claim through my insurance, it was denied because they were indeed NOT in my network. The office offered nothing to rectify the situation.

Dr Loughlin and her staff are amazing with my children! The front desk staff welcomes us by name every visit. Both of my children are on the autism spectrum and when we first started coming to this office, they required time and attention.. Dr Loughlin and Theresa make them feel so comfortable and take the time to explain step by step. Dr Loughlin is patient, nurturing, and kind. She even allowed us to bring a power point slide show of each of the steps, which she played while explaining each step of the cleaning. Now the power point is no longer needed, cleanings are quick and painless. My son hugs her as soon as he sees her and tells her jokes. After his most recent visit, he told me that going to the dentist is great and that it is the best place in the neighborhood!

Dr. Carl Horchos has been my dentist for over 20 years. But Im old enough to have had a lot of other dentists before I found him. His biggest failing is that he is a perfectionist. Thats probably why I still have all my teeth, in good working condition, and lookin pretty good, too. His second biggest failing is that he cares much too much about his patients. You might spend a little extra time in his chair because he cares whether you are comfortable as he works, he cares if you need a break to take a deep breath because some procedures just arent fun, he cares if your bite aligns just right, he cares if your smile is pretty, he cares to look for any signs of mouth cancer, he just cares. And if you can come in with a pretty good joke, he has a really funny laugh.

I have nothing but positive comments to make about Dr. Horchas and Chestnut Dental Associates. First off, the practice is located in a gorgeous old building that has been incredibly restored. Its a pleasure (and relaxing) just to be in the space. Second, the whole staff is extremely kind, pleasant, helpful and courteous. Lastly, Dr. Horchas is a funny, out-going, playful guy, who also takes the time to make sure that he has addressed all of your concerns. He is very caring, and a bit of a perfectionist. He recently did some cosmetic work on my teeth, and I was more than satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend Chestnut Dental Associates to anyone.

I cant say enough positives about the staff of Chestnut Dental. The receptionists, dental assistants, and Dr. Horchos are all so great and welcoming that I see them despite the office being out of network for my insurance. I went to see Dr. Horchos after a bit of dental neglect on my part, and left with a treatment plan, thorough explanations of each proposed procedure, and knowledge of what my financial responsibility would be during each step. Now Im in the midst of my treatment, and going to my appointments is as pleasurable as one can hope for from a trip to the dentist. I highly recommend this practice for anyone looking to benefit from excellent dental care.

As with any trip to the dentist, I was filled with concern. My previous dentist was unpersonable and the facility seemed very sterile and utilitarian. I was pleased to find Chestnut Dental was a comfortable friendly place with staff that were smiling and welcoming as well as thoroughly knowledgeable of their fields. Everything that needed to be done was discussed and all options noted. When a task was done, they showed you the results, explained everything and made sure you understood why they needed to go a certain route. I was very pleased with the staff and I and my family will continue to use Chestnut Dental for many years to come.

Dr. Horchos and his team are beyond amazing. After 4 days of horrendous pain I took a friends advice and called Chestnut Dental Associates. They took me in immediately, even as a new patient. I was met with smiles and the office is immaculate. They were great at calming my nerves and jumping into action, even performing a root canal at that appointment. I cant tell you how amazing it is to not be in pain and have a Dentist that I trust. Dr. Horchos even called me that night to ensure I was doing okay. I didnt think dentists this amazing existed! I only wish I had found them sooner! Thank you!

When I moved from my birth state to Pennsylvania, I went to several dental practices and was not happy with the care I received for myself and family. I was referred by a family member to Chestnut Dental. The Chestnut Dental team takes a holistic approach to dental care. While, I like many patients, have no fondness for certain procedures, I am always confident that great care is taken to minimize pain and discomfort. I actually look forward my teeth being cleaned. They are a quality, caring practice!
