This is the closest hospital to me and I dont want to drive a bit further to the next one. Most of the staff are friendly and caring. The hospitaL is always clean and i like the location. Ive used and have come to this hospital many many times whether if it be myself or a fam member. A couple of times Ive come to the er. About the er: I understand that the er can get hectic when there are alot of people and waiting times can seem forever. But its when I actually get called in is what needs to be worked on. A couple of times Ive gone and I just needed checked and diagnosed with no blood work whatsoever and just need to be prescribed meds. On a couple of occasions, I got a room right across from one of the desks and clearly the PA was just carrying on a conversation not work related while I waited an hr for that PA to check me, 2 hrs just for a nurse to come and give me a shot and prescriptions, and an hr more just for that nurse to come back to have me sign papers and be released. Really? I was in there for a total of 4 hrs, listening and watching, wondering why cant I just get all I need and be released. I thought there was something I had to wait for, but apparently, there wasnt. I mean, I can live with that but being in there for 4 hrs for what seems like an hr or top 2 hrs er visit, was ridiculous. I had to miss work after that too which was ok, but the timing and waiting needs to be more realistic around there. Plus, it wasnt busy either. I came in with one other person waiting and got called in, in less than 5 mins.

Dont get burned twice! My wife received very slow and poor treatment at the ER here and we were charged as if we received first class service. I understand that there may be considerable waiting times at an ER but this was not good. After the excessive wait time they said that they could not evaluate the burn and would have to send pictures to Lehigh. The whole ordeal took over 3.5 hours as we were treated as a low priority (understandably) but once we received the bill we were shocked. We were charged as if we received top notch treatment when that was decidedly not the case. I made several phone calls and we wrote a very detailed letter appealing the charges. After several months we were simply told that they had reviewed our case and would give no reduction to the bill. This is what was most disappointing about the whole ordeal, the fact that they made no effort to rectify a customers bad experience. Overall, the value was extremely poor and considering the long wait and limited service we will make sure to go somewhere else in case of another emergency. We learned that although this location may be convenient, we would be better served going somewhere else. After sharing my story with others, I quickly found that our poor experience was not unique.

My experience As an outpatient to Ephratas OBGYN. As far as scheduling, make sure you talk to a nurse. I was having awful night sweats from hot to cold rapidly. Changing my clothing up to 3 times a night. Soaking my bed having to put towels under me to not shiver at times. The first scheduler wanted to give me an appointment 1 month out. Unbelievable. I explained the extent of my symptoms. Called back later not having much luck elsewhere, talked to someone different. She was going to give me an appointment 2 weeks out. Miraculously she then found an appointment for the next day. Very displeased and reported this to doctor. A receptionist there is not very pleasant. This practice deals with pregnant, sick and hormonal women. They need to identify this women. Otherwise the medical staff are great.

My wife and I have had several interactions with the maternity ward of this hospital and always found the staff to be very professional but also warm and friendly. My young children have also needed the E-Care facilities a few times and again, I always found the staff to provide sincere and wonderful care of the medical needs of the situation. Each time, I have been very thankful to have such a wonderful facility in our community. A hospital is a place you dont want to have to visit much.... :) but if you do need them, it is great to know that we have such a great facility and staff so close to home. Thanks ECH for the way you are caring for our community.

My husband and I are from Kentucky and were visiting on Oct 18, 2013 when my husbands heart suddenly slowed down and then stopped. We were taken by ambulance to ECH. I can not say enough about the wonderful care he received while in the ER, Cath Lab, and ICU. Their competence, timeliness and compassion went way beyond what anyone might have expected. I can never thank them enough for saving my husbands life. Hats off to the awesome ECH staff!!!!

I love most Ephrata Hospital nurses and doctors and the patient care. I just spend a week there recuperating in end stage kidney failure. The care was very good. There is one big drawback though. Each time we have had to use the ER lately we have had a more than 3 hour wait time. This is longer than the other local hospitals. It is too long when is really ill like we were. If this is fixed - this is my hospital of choice.

Just dont go here. They have no respect for privacy, announce your "illness" loudly to the entire ER. Talk about patients very loudly at the Nurses station. Violating HIPPA seems to be a sport for this hospital! Take the 6 mile drive to Lititz or the 10 mile drive to LGH. Dont come here unless you enjoy being belittled, embarrassed, and made to feel an inch tall...

I cannot get a hold of anyone. Their hours for Monday (today) they are open until 6:30pm. Its only now 4:45pm and when I call they say they are closed. Ive been waiting a month for someone to call me back from my doctors apt and now when i try and reach out, Im left out. I have no idea whats going on.

Had my first born here and she was in the NICU, great service nurses check in all the time never had to wait. Taught us a lot about caring for a child and took great care of our child. Nothing negative to say about them the food was great. Over all great service 5 stars for sure
