I had a terrible experience with this doctor. After waiting months for an appointment for a physical and having bloodwork done ahead of time (before the scheduled appointment), he waits to tell me until I get there for my appointment that he is switching over to Concierge. And if I want to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket I can stay with him. If not, I will no longer be his patient. I had been having health problems and waited a long time for this appointment (months!). Only for him to basically say "See ya!" I then had to try to find another doctor and wait months for that appointment. He then proceeded to code the appointment as a physical so I could not get a physical with my new doctor unless I paid out of pocket due to insurance rules. I do not recommend going to him.

Dr. Barry Burkhardt, DO is an excellent physician with exceptional patient relationship skills. He is knowledgable about diseases and the latest trends in therapy. One of the best features of his patient interactions is how he always calms the worries and fears of his patients. He is approachable, friendly and uses appropriate humor to create a trusting relationship with his patients. I would recommend him to friends and family. You can be assured that he will treat everyone with the care and concern he would give his own family. He represents the best of what a physician should be.

I was diagnosed with cancer one year after my last blood work that was ordered by him. After diagnoses, I looked at the results. It showed elevated white blood cell count. It really stood out when I knew what I was looking for. He never advised me to follow up on it or even notify me that there was a potential problem. Im so glad he switched to the vip service. I think of l had gone to him instead of the hospital I would probably be dead today.
