Sad to say that this Groomer is probably good, but on the day that I brought my sweet cat Printz to her she was in a horrible mood. She was rude to me the moment I went into her salon. I was 25 mins. early for my appointment with her, and she snapped at me and said : "your early for your appointment, this is an appointment only salon! " I came a distance and did not know exactly where I was going, I did not want to be late. I sat down and started reading. Just then I was barked at by this person, saying I would like you to leave! This is by appointment only and you are here during another clients time! OH..your web site stated that there was a place to wait, "The Cat Cafe". She barked at me again, WHILE YOUR CAT IS BEING GROOMED! I was really shocked that a business owner would speak to someone like this, but I just said Ok, I can go sit in my car and wait. When I returned for my appointment the groomer greeted me with an upbeat but curious..Hello, almost singing it. It was if she had never seen me before. Another thing I found very strange was there were no other cats around, resting on the very nice cat trees in the salon. The web site stated, A Cat Only Salon. Play with the cats while you wait in the Cat Cafe. She had a little Dog that was demanding her attention, she left my cat a few times to attend to her. She put her dog in a backpack and proceeded to try to bath my cat with the dog on her back. She also left my cat to finish grooming another cat that she neglected to ask the owner how she wanted her tail trimmed. She waited until she arrived to attend to her. The cat was not happy to say the least! After taking care of the cat and having a conversation with her more than 20 mins had passed. She then tried to return to my cat, but her little dog wanted her attention again. I offered to hold her. She turned around like she was possessed and screamed at me, " I just want this appointment to be over, I said, "excuse me, What are you taking about"! All the while she was heading into her grooming room and pulled my sweet cat out of a sink, wraps him in a towel that looked like a rag, and throws him soaking wet into his coach!! By now I am crying and in disbelief that someone would treat my pet like this!! He is like my child for heaven sake!! I told her I was going to write a review and let people know how she abused my cat. After I left I was so upset, I had to drive an hour with my poor cat soaking wet. Thank God he is the sweet loving creature he is, it was like he wanted to make me feel better. I sent Samantha a note that I could not believe her behavior, toward me and my cat. I thought she might send me a note and say she had a bad day and she was sorry. I have seen people behave like this before...it was frightening. I think her job is stressful. The cat that she was handling during my appointment was very upset. The cats owner was talking to her the whole time she was trying to finish grooming her cat. But instead of telling her to sit down and wait she waited to take her emotions out on me and my poor cat. While she was grooming my cat, she never spoke nice to him, she complained he was to kitten like. She told me twice she liked his coach...but not him. Sorry Samantha, but you were very mean to me, and I could overlook your rudeness because you probable had a bad day, But you were mean to my Cat, my Little Boy! Printz is 5 Years old, he has never even hissed or batted at anyone! He is total Love, that is all he knows. I was so looking forward to having him groomed. My mom was very sick with Cancer this past year, I was her caretaker, she died in Sept. I was the one that would comb Printz every morning. With attention taken away from him he got a few mats on his tummy. I was afraid to cut them out. Try to think of others, and what they might be going through. You have signs on your walls...LOVE Spoken Here. But that is not what you spoke to me and Printz. He forgives you...he is total Love! As for me, I am just a human...and we take longer...Because we are not Purr..fection, Like our Cats.

I took my cat Furo to Main Lion a few months ago and I have nothing but great things to say. Ive taken Furo to other groomers who asked that he not be taken back because hes difficult or aggressive but Samantha had no trouble with him at all ! She is definitely a cat person and my cat picked up on that and was calmed by it. Super friendly and very knowledgable. I felt assured leaving my baby with her and knew shed treat him kindly and wouldnt stress him. The salon may not be the ideal place for a human to hang out in (as pointed out by the negative reviewer previously) but its a salon set up in the best interest of the cats- quiet, calm, peaceful and relaxed- not for people to hang out in and chat. Drop you kitty off for an appointment and head to Starbucks across the street:) As far as the quality of grooming goes, it was the best style Furo has had. Hes a Maine Coon and we went with the lion cut. Beautiful work ! I would recommend Main Lion to anyone looking for cat grooming services !

I have 3 young Maine Coons (ages 2, 1 & 1). They LOVE to be brushed, which is a constant job, but thats OK because I love all that hair! I knew that trying to bath & groom 3 young cats would be too much for me, so I began to look for a groomer. I was so lucky to find Samantha & the Main Lion Cat Grooming Salon. Upon arriving, I was happy to see that the salon is very clean & has a peaceful atmosphere - its all about cats. Samantha went over the services; bathing/drying, eyes, ears, nails & the much needed sanitary cut for my long haired kids. I felt very comfortable to leave them with Samantha to work her magic. Upon arriving to pick them up, I couldnt believe how beautiful they looked! I was happy with the service & must say that when we got home, the 3 of them seemed to walk around with an air of "we know we look gorgeous!" I will definitely be bringing Rowan, Coco & Bella back to Samantha!

When my cats need to be professionally groomed, I drive all the way from Philadelphia to bring them to Samantha. She has a very special gift for handling cats -- even grumpy ones. I have a semi-feral cat with long thick fur who was rescued from the streets. The first groomer I took him to, at a salon in the city, was unable to handle him, and sent him home un-groomed and in a very foul mood. Samantha handles him beautifully; on a recent visit she gave him a fabulous lion cut, he was purring with delight when I picked him up, and hes been in a great mood ever since. A trip to the Main Lion is time and money well-spent for such fantastic results.
