If you are going in for a routine visit for shots than this vet is efficient otherwise find someone else. I took my pets there for several years and since I never had any emergencies I was satisfied with the level of care. However, when I found a tumor on my 8 year old cats belly I received very little emotional support from Syken. He was no available for massive blood loss from the surgery he did to remove it, nor was he clear about what it was or what to expect (and yes i know cancer is unpredictable). when I called in about my cat bleeding profusely from a gaping hole in the top of the stitches I was treated as if I did not know the difference between A LOT of blood and standard oozing. On top of that when the cat continued to bleed the doctor offered no suggestions of alternatives to keeping the wound closed or to keep the cat from bleeding out.. he had to be caged and left to bleed out on towels. When it finally came to the end I was ACCOSTED by the gentlemen working the front desk to fill out PAPERWORK while holding my dying cat! So like said, if its routine you are fine.. if it is emergency or death.. find a vet with a heart...

Dr. Syken is an amazing vet! I am a first time puppy owner and am very unsure of many things regarding my pups care. Dr. Syken is always ready to answer my questions and is very knowledgable about any topic regarding Jaxon, my doggy. He also performed exploratory surgery on Jaxon and ended up removing several foreign bodies from his stomach as well as eight inches of his small intestine. Dr. Syken took the time to call me personally after the surgery was finished and explained, in great detail, everything that he had done. It really made me feel good to know that my puppy was in good hands. I was confident leaving him in Dr. Sykens care. Also, the Penelll vet staff is great too! My puppy stayed there receiving post-operative care for three days, the staff was always more then happy to provide me with updates on my little pup.

Dr. Syken is a complete head case. He took and tortured our dog because his staff member did not have control of her. We were dropping her off to have ligament surgery and what he did was reprehensible. He put a plastic zip tie in our dog leg, I saw this with my own eyes on the x-ray only after 3 months of telling my wife I we were not doing enough to rehabilitate the leg. It was after that period that the xray was taken and Dr. Syken then told us it was cancer. It was happening all too quick, and when we agreed to put her down, he did it in the most inhumane way, he pushed all of the drug to euthanize her at once. IT was cruel. STAY AWAY FROM THIS NUT - This Story Will Not Go Away Dr. Syken because its true.

The Dr. is a phyco. His staff could not hold our dog and he took it out on her by making her suffer before putting her down in a very mean way. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. A Zip tie was placed in our dogs leg, he forced her to do physical therapy and then claimed she had cancer. Dr. Skyen is pure evil. How many people dont come back to this humorless, in personable vindictive humanbeing

Everyone at the Pennell Veterinary Clinic is wonderful. They treated our kitten with care as if he were one of their own. Dr. Syken takes the time to listen to your concerns and has great "bed side manners" with your pet! We will continue to go there and will definitely recommend him to everyone.
