The vet care that we receive from this place is very, very good; weve taken our three different dogs here for check-ups and ailments, both major and minor. When our first dog starting having seizures because of brain tumors, Dr. Kraft worked extremely hard to find the right balance of medicine for her. The facility is also really nice, very clean and spacious. That said, there are some drawbacks. First, it is very expensive; my family frequently considers going to other vets, but we havent yet. I also agree with Damien about the lack of compassion. Our first dog had been sick for a while, but still had a good quality of life, but after one episode, she clearly reached a point that she had no quality of life. When my mom called to make an appointment to have her put down, the aide gave her one available time slot, and when my mom said she couldnt do that because she wanted everyone in the family to be able say goodbye to our dog whod been a family member since I was a little kid, the receptionist/aide actually YELLED at my mom that she was being cruel keeping our pet alive for a few extra hours. We only wanted to wait until later in the day when my brothers and dad would be home (my brothers were in high school at the time, and it took them longer to get home than it did for me and my dad left work early, but needed to get home from the city). I actually heard the woman from the phone piece, even though I was down on the floor with our pet; it upset my mom to no end, made her doubt herself and feel guilty, and she cried more than she was already doing. That was extremely unfair, because my mom had worked with Doctor Kraft to keep our dog as healthy and comfortable as possible. She was the one who cleaned our dog after the seizures, and who comforted her afterwards; it was also her records that gave Dr. Kraft the necessary information to decide what doses and medicines would be most effective. In the end, we opted to go to the Plymouth SPCA to have our dog put to sleep; they were so kind and compassionate, and completely understood my moms desire to have the family together to say goodbye. I think that meant a lot to our dog, too; even though she couldnt stand after that last major episode, she still wagged her tail when she saw my brothers and dad come home. I also think she would have been more frightened without my dad there, because he was her absolute hero. Also, although this wasnt important at the time, the SPCA was a fraction of the price for the exact same service and immeasurably better treatment.

I brought my 2 dogs here for a short period of time when Dr. Kraft was at the clinic and was pleased with the care. When Dr Kraft retired, a female Veterinarian (I do not remember the name) took over the care. I felt like she would not listen to me. I wanted to have my dogs teeth cleaned. When there were cavities discovered, I requested that they get pulled. She tried to refer me to a vet specialist for root canals. They were an estimated $700.00 at the time (summer of 2011). When I told her that I was not interested, she ignored me, stating that the molars were a must. In addition, she needed to run routine blood work prior to the dental cleaning, only to discover more issues that needed to be addressed. When I inquired about a multiple pet discount, explaining that I needed to get my cat vaccinated, explaining that she was never vaccinated, she simply stated that it is the law to have the cat vaccinated, without offering a discount or a real solution to vaccinate her. I think the place is a bit pricey, and I have not returned.

Dr. Mitchell is awesome! My dog handles vet visits very well, but they are nonetheless traumatic and sad. Dr. Mitchell was the first vet that kept my old girl happy the entire visit. He didnt even try to make her get on the lift, he just plunked down on the floor to examine her. It made all the difference. However, I am looking for another vet office. The prices are just too out of control, and some of the office staff is a little disconcerting. I accidentally showed up 45 minutes before my appointment, but didnt see a vet until 45 minutes *after* my appointment the last time I was there. When I brought my older dog in for teeth cleaning, she was completely traumatized - when I got her back, she had poop on her tail, and for the rest of the day she wandered around the house crying; she just couldnt settle. I have no idea if they just completely forgot to give her painkillers, or what happened that she got poop on her tail, but for the money I paid, I would have expected a completely different experience for her.

I took my two dogs to Trooper Veterinary Hospital for their boarding service. When I called, they told me the price would be $29 per dog per night. I had them there for 3 nights (Dropped them off Saturday at 8:30am and picked them up Tuesday 1:00pm. I also signed them up for sibling play time for $5 per day per dog for two days. I expected the total to me around $194 without tax. When I went to pick them up, they handed me a bill for $308. I told them this was a lot more then what they quoted me. They said they had to do worm test on both dogs at $25 ea and they had to charge me $60 for Tuesday. When I asked why I was being charged for Tuesday when I was picking them up at 1, they said it was their policy and there was nothing they can do. I would never recommend this place to anyone and will be filing a complaint with the BBB because of their hidden/misquoted costs.

Love this vet! They put so much effort into making the experience of a vet visit as low-stress as possible for my cat. I definitely appreciate the separate cat waiting room and the entrance separate from the dogs as a person, too, because Im highly allergic to dogs! Im a first-time pet owner and Dr. DSouza was very reassuring the first time I took my cat here. Ive also boarded him here twice now, and they were happy to give me a tour of their facility when I asked. I was nervous about how he would react the first time I boarded him, but their staff member Linda sent me an email with some photos and an update on how he was eating/behaving, which was very reassuring! They may be pricey, but if you have a cat, the quality of care is well worth the price.

We have taken our Puggle to Trooper vet since we got her and our Vet has been the same each time. Explains every procedure throughly and also explains options. This is ideal since sometimes you dont want the vet to just give you a yes or no answer but want an actual explanation on why and Trooper vet provides this. They also set you up with a webpage for your pet which includes scheduling, medications and the ability to schedule future appointments. Id have to say this is the most modern facility I have been to and I appreciate their progressive attitude. Would recommend very highly.
