I went into my recent appointment, a new patient, with some skepticism. I had read the one review posted here and would have to say, I was apprehensive. But I knew the doctor is one of, if not the best dermatologist and in Berks County. Or so I am told by doctors and patients that are friends of mine. So I had scheduled the appointment to have what I anticipated to be the best dermatologist in Berks County, since I needed a procedure on my face. Upon my arrival, I found the staff was very pleasant, the physicians assistant was very thorough and personable, Dr. Shurman was the same way. Knowledgeable and looking at my best interest. He explained what he thought we should do and carried out the procedure keeping me informed the whole way. I would strongly recommend Dr Shurman to anyone. I think hes an outstanding dermatologist with great bed side communication and manners.

I saw Dr Shurman twice. On both visits he was arrogant, condescending, and rude. He did not listen to my concerns and did not answer questions. He referred me to a website for information...and then on the second visit when I asked a question about what I had read, he told me I should not read anything while he is my doctor. He became very defensive when I asked questions about my condition and the medication he prescribed. If you have a brain in your head and do not want to just BLINDLY follow what a physician tells you. stay away from this guy! And just as an update, the area that he actually treated has gotten worse than the areas he did not treat. So besides being rude, he might be incompetent as well.

I wish I could leave zero stars. Making the appointment was easy enough. I saw Linda weinberg crnp. The appointment went horribly. I explained my extensive family history of melanoma and skin cancer, to which she said, "well which one is it? Melanoma or skin cancer? Cuz theres a difference." I was baffled, its both! But thats beside the point. She was extremely condescending and rude the entire appointment even though I had spots of concern. I asked her what some preventative suggestions would be and she told me to wear sunscreen and long sleeve shirts

First time patient and I found everyone to be friendly and professional. I had a small procedure done and the whole time I was there was about a half an hour (which included filling out the initial paperwork). I would recommend their services to anyone.
