Office staff is helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. Nurses seem alright. Dr. Raphael snapped at my toddler when my toddler was curious about one of the machines saying "I dont think your parents would like to pay for that." He was also condescending at times, I also witnessed him roll his eyes, and he was extremely hesitant to examine my child. Thats why I docked two stars: he does not seem to be child, nor apparently, parent-friendly. He did not take our claim seriously that we were "doing everything possible" to alleviate our childs symptoms and made us visit him more than we would have liked. I consider myself to be an educated non-idiot so the tone to his questions felt like he was badgering. He is however competent and gave us a miracle prescription which vastly improved our childs condition. All in all he did a good job, but i would be fine to see another pediatric dermatologist that doesnt give the impression that children are a nuisance.

I am staying in the Utica area for a few months and just could not get a Utica area dermatologist to see me for just a cursory look at a suspicious lesion. Called Empire and the receptionist was very understanding and helpful, securing an appointment for me within days. Dr. Raphael and his staff are top notch. His office is bright and modern and conveniently located. Dr. Raphael is great, explaining everything and taking time to answer any questions. Its worth the short drive to Bridge Street even from the Utica area. Highly recommended.

I am VERY impressed with this practice. I was recently diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma on my face. Initially, I was told I might need a plastic surgeon to repair the damage that would result from the removal. I then heard about Empire Dermatology, and Dr. Raphaels MOHS surgery. Dr. Raphael thoroughly explained the procedure, which was completed right there in his office in one afternoon. The results are amazing. The scar is almost invisible after only 1 month. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Raphael, and his staff!
