I contracted a rash while staying with my husband in the hospital. Was advised by my medical dr. to see a dermatologist. I had been to Dr. Oppenheim in the past. Not the best experience but over all not the worst. However this time he acted strangely. Ordered blood work and accused the hospital of throwing it away. Not so sure that was the case. He couldnt determine from the blood work and biopsy what was causing my rash. He asked if I was taking herb supplements. The answer was no. He then determined that my thyroid medicine was causing my rash. I have been on it for years with no problems and I know when I have an allergy to medicine. I asked for him to call me. He wouldnt. Had his nurse to call me twice. I told her of my dislike for the way things were handled and that he apparently wasnt interested in finding the cause of my rash so therefore I would not be back. She said okay as if nobody there really cares. He could have had the decency to talk to me or refer me to someone else but not so. I would not recommend anyone go to him after this experience. Not only do I still have the rash but it is painful and he couldnt care less.

I think Dr Oppenheim is a dermatological genius. Sometimes its difficult for people to recognize quirkiness as bad bedside manners, or being in a hurry. I appreciate that he does not have a facade of who he really is like some physicians Ive met (being a healthcare professional myself). With Dr Oppenheim, what you see is what you get, he is very transparent. Ive seen him for years and will continue to do so because he has been amazing with accurately assessing and diagnosing conditions for myself, my husbands skin cancer and my childrens skin issues. I also referred him to one of my best friends who has gone to different local physician for years trying to find out what was going on with her. I referred her to him and he has been the only physician in the area to accurately identify and treat her rare condition. So, He is an outstanding physician and his staff is always amazing. He is a very quirky and its part of his character. I will continue and recommend him to anyone who is having dermatological issues.

The receptionist and nurses are friendly. Ive been there twice and it took almost an hour to be seen. The Doctor seems to be in a rush and his bed side manner is terrible. He comes in, looks at the problem, tells you what it is and rushes off. I had a few questions about my rash and he answered them with one foot out the door. Heres an example of how a doctor should do it; sit down, tell me the diagnosis and ASK if I have any questions. I had concerns if it was contagious because I have kids, he didnt bother to tell me after he diagnosed me that it was contagious, I had to ask. Ill be looking for another Dermatologist very soon.
