This is by far the worst hospital. Weve been here twice and both were with my daughter at age 8 and 9. The first time she went with excruciating abdominal pains. After performing a few exams and and x-ray, the doctor gave me a prescription for a UTI. He informed me that he didnt think thats what it was but wanted her to take it just in case. He then told me that he knew something was major wrong with my daughter right before having the nurse give us discharge papers. Our second visit was a year later. My daughter had a piece of glass fall on her foot and slice it open. We had the same doctor. We werent happy to see him but wanted to give him another chance as we all have bad days. Sure enough, he had the same horrible bed side manner toward my 9 yr old and my family. They examined her foot for glass and then proceeded. He was not in any way trying to comfort my daughter and help her in any way. He came in, shoved the needle in her foot to numb it and took no concern that it was hurting her. The nurse and I were doing our best to comfort her. He continued doing this over and over. My daughter was still screaming when he left the needle in her foot, lifted up and told her she was being overly dramatic and couldnt feel it. When the nurse and I tried telling him differently because she was still jumping every time he put the needle in her foot, he refused to listen. He then proceeded to cut her foot open to get the glass. Guess what, her foot wasnt numb yet. He got so furious because of this. I tried explaining before he started that she had a really high tolerance to medicine. He gave her more medicine and proceeded. This time it was completely numb. After digging and cutting her foot open more looking for the glass and not finding any he closed her back up. He then left for about 20 minutes. When he came back he stated that he shouldve looked at the x-ray first because it was only air. He had left it to the technicians that told him they thought it showed glass. I was furious. Not to mention. During all of this, it was so hot in the room and when we asked to turn down the heat, the doctor told the nurse no because he was comfortable. I only gave 1 star because the nurse we had was wonderful and so compassionate. She helped me keep my cool and she also helped my daughter that was sitting behind me. I was trying to focus on the patient so she kept an eye out for my teenager sitting behind me. She was such a blessing during the entire thing and even was telling the doctor what was going on. This was by far the worst experience weve ever had and I hope none of my children ever have to deal with anything like this again. I really hope and pray that this doctor gets a change of heart and learns what caring and compassion is about. Especially when it comes to pediatrics. I cant remember his name but he was a white male. Id say in his 40s.

I have been seen several times at this facility. The most recent time was on Feb 12, 2016. On this date I had started coughing at home and suddenly collapsed and was unable to breath. My vital signs were unstable and although I was released from another hospital 36 hours previously, EMS was required to take me to the closest facility. The care I received was excellent. The physician was excellent (wish I had his name!). Without a lot of reason to suspect what was wrong, he must have had a gut feeling as he ordered the perfect test, followed by medications and admission for a life threatening condition. The only complaint I have is that the primary nurse caring for me had a strong odor of cigarette smoke about her. I dont handle that well on a good day and especially not when I am having trouble breathing. I realize the Methodist system is tobacco free and helps staff that want to quit. I have been cared for and worked with staff that smoked and yet they took precautions to ensure the smell was better contained. Thank you and the staff for their life-saving interventions! We got in quickly but it appeared I knew more about how to treat my condition than the doctor. Went in for potential UTI, told doctor I had drank over 70 ounces of water, his response: why? Um, to flush out my system. He then asked me what I wanted from them? Well medicine to treat the issue would be nice. The nurses left to test my urine. He came back to say I did have a UTI then told me I could get dressed. I never got undressed. I was still in my clothes. He then left the room. I still had the blood pressure cuff on, the pulse monitor, and the computer dinging away. No one came back in. After 30 minutes of waiting I unhooked myself and opened the door and asked what was going on. The nurse blamed the doctor for taking a long time. He was sitting right behind her. He wasnt friendly seemed to be out of touch with patience. You can still work in an emergency facility and have good bedside manner. Also everyone kept using medical terminology so I was left confused. My aunt, an ER nurse, had to explain everything to me in laymans terms after the fact. Only place in town 24 hours but jeeze get it together.

The hospital is quick compared to others. Hardly no one there as far as patients. I had gone for pain had blood work, and other things done. I was told to get my results by a phone call. I call instead and now Im asked if I live in Boerne what does that matter if I do or dont? I was there because I wasnt feeling well.. if i was feeling well why woild.i waist my money and time sitting in the ER room.. second thing I was given meds and a shot if they didnt have my results in why was that given to me? Not to mention I still have the pain. I have now to pay them and also pay my other doctor who requested me to get seen through an ER. So my advise is just be careful if you go here. Yes service is quick but I rather wait have a CT scan and all the labs and get paper work right then and there than to get meds that I dont need. And now wondering if all those meds and shots will have a reaction with my health..

We are new to the area and came into the ER to obtain antibiotics for a dental infection. While the staff were professional and helpful, our experience with Dr. Chuang was awful. I have never observed a poorer bedside manner. His communication with us was a continuous barrage of snide, off-handed remarks. We were berated for everything from visiting a hospital outside the Methodist system 10 yrs ago, (apparently he was angered that he couldnt easily pull up 10 yr. old information from an ER visit from my previous location) to not having seen an ophthalmologist a few days prior. The Dr. offered no pain management and walked out of the door, leaving it wide open as I stood there trying to pull up my pants as quickly as I could. Dignity and respect were nowhere to be found during this exchange with Dr. Chuang. I would not trust this man with the care of a goldfish, much less a human being!
