Most of the staff treated me nicely when I first entered. When I asked if this place was a clinic they nodded and told me they were a clinic and an ER. When I asked if they take auto accident report case numbers they told me they did and gladly saw me. Before I was seen however, I asked how much the visit would cost, to basically get checked out to see if there was anything wrong with me, just a regular physical check up I suppose. And they told me they didnt know how much it would cost, which is understandable since they didnt know if I would need to get any x-rays and whatnot. I was then scolded by one of the staff members basically pressuring me to get seen by them, right then and there. So I decided to get seen. After the check up, I asked again around how much it would be and again they said they didnt know, this time it was because they didnt know the insurance information from the auto incident and needed to check with them to make sure how much TO bill. I thought that was a little strange, that they would word it that way. I took the form they gave me to fill out with the insurance information home to give back to them later because the staff at the front desk told me to fill it out and the lady gave me a number to call, their billing office...since my circumstances needed to be told to the billing department. So, I called the billing office and told them my situation, they were very polite until I asked how much the bill was. They told me it was around $1500, then I asked what exactly they were charging me for and the lady couldnt tell me. She didnt know what they were charging me for because they hadnt gotten the insurance information from me yet. How can they not know what the $1500 is for? I then asked if they were a regular clinic and she told me no, they are an ER...not a clinic. I then asked for her name, but she would not give it to me, nor would she give me her supervisors name. She did give me a her supervisors number to call then transferred me over, but I got a voice recording. I tried calling both numbers again, but got nothing. Im not really complaining about the staff at the hospital, they were for the most part very friendly and professional, I am complaining about the billing departments inability to know what exactly they are charging me for since I have this ridiculous bill, just for getting a regular check up...I did not get any x-rays or anything else AND the fact that the staff at this place lied to me saying they were in fact a regular clinic...and an ER.

I go into the Emergency room with severe dehydration from 24 hours of vomiting and diarrhea. Guessing from a 2nd bout of C-Diff and a massive migraine. Taken back with 10 minutes waited 20 minutes for a nurse to start IV, all while going in and out to bathroom 29 times waiting on dr. Dr comes in says hes admitting me and will get CT of abdomen. I wait another hour in the mean time the first time I get up to use bathroom after iv put in it comes out and blood squirts all over the room. My stomach is exploding while Im waiting for them to clean the room and then redo my iv. Finally 2 hrs later they walk me 20 steps yo my room. Another several hours before I get meds to calm my nausea and pain. Then antibiotics later. No one ever told me I had to ask them for pain medicine when I needed it, because unless I asked it was scheduled. So for almost 20 hours and only one check in between no one cared! They dont wake you up to check your vitals regularly, they are understaffed supposedly. Some nurses, maybe 3 were awesome. The others horrible, I was so nauseous I didnt eat for 2 days and they just put poor appetite and didnt address further. But right after they give me the strongest of all pain meds the whole time I was there they give me scalding chicken broth in a paper bowl. As Im sitting up by myself on the side of the bed trying to scoot the tray closer to me the bowl tips over onto my lap and burns my stomach and both legs. I have 2nd and 3rd degree burns on both legs. It took them 2-3 minutes to come to the room. If I wouldnt have jumped in the shower as fast as I did the burns would have been much worse. They wanted to transport me to another hospital because they couldnt figure out why my head was still hurting and they wouldnt give me pain medicine to address that pain. Im not quite sure what they are set up to be used for if they cant treat pain. Now I have to wait until Tuesday to see a real dr. At least they took care of my stomach issues.

Monday I was having pain in my lower back at work. I work less than a mile from Baptist Emergency Hospital and I need help ASAP and decided to got to Baptist Emergency Hospital. The front desk nurses couldnt give me an estimate time on when I could be treated and waited almost an hour to be seen. After being called back I waited almost 45 mins to be seen with a doctor. The doctor only gave me 2 options. Muscle Relaxer or a shot. I took a shot and didnt help relief the pain. I asked if we could take Xrays and we did so (I HAD TO ASK TO TAKE XRAYS!). Doctor said the results were just fine. After I got the Results a nurse comes to see how Im going to pay the ER Fee. I paid it. At the very end of this visit the nurse just tells me to get rest and stretch out my back. I dont even get a chance to talk to the doctor. at this point im frustrated and tired so I ask for the medication they recommend. Nurse said there isnt a prescription and I asked if she could check again. Minutes later she comes back with a prescription and jokingly says "Sorry, the doctor forgot to put it with the paper work haha" as if I was in the mood to laugh. Ended up being 2 different muscle relaxers that I didnt want. Long story short. I LEFT THE HOSPITAL IN THE SAME CONDITION I WAS IN AND LOST $350.00. They gave me a list of doctors to follow up with. If they tried a little bit harder to help me I would have posted this review. I wanted their help to figure our what my pain was. A herniated Disk? Back spasms? kept giving me a run around. Charge me 350.00 but cant help me figure out what my pain is. I havent been to the hospital in 7 years! this is the first time Im going because of back pain and they "think its chronic back pain" Total waste of time and money....

Yesterday was the worse experience ever I went there for a very painful sore throat.... 1. The healthcare professionals didnt bother to state thier names and roles I had to asked the RN who attended to me only stated " am a registered Nurse" 2. I requested for a prescription of blood pressure medication I gave them the opportunity to refuse but when the Dr came in and asked what was the usual dose....it took a while for me to remember say like 4seconds....he literally he literally slammed the door at my face and worked away in the presence of my 11-year-old daughter and a friend and in the presence of a female pre-medical school student who was shocked by the doctors attitude. Infact she apologized for the Doctors behaviour. 2. They left me there without checking frequently on me or asking me if I needed anything. I am a RN i will never treat anybody the way i was treated in that hospital.....please take note: i have insurance and paid my co-pay upfront I wasnt asking for a free service. I think also that my race may have something to do with the very poor distateful service I recieved. If i were white, I dont think that ER Doctor would have the gut to treat me the way he did. I pray never to visit that hospital in my life time and i would not encourage anybody to do the same. Baptist Hospital is just too big to be efficient. Too many workers who feel they are above the law and punish the sick and helpless. If only I had read the review here i would have driven myself to another hospital. As a Nurse and patient it was a very bad experience.....infact my 11-year-daughter was begging me to leave right away. I think its her first possible "Racist encounter". Shame on that ER Doctor!!!!
