First let me start out by saying that Im veteran so i actually have a choice in the hospitals that i can go to ... i chose to come the Christus Santa Rose ER on WestOver Hill off 151 for help with chest pain, that was my first mistake ... 3 1/2 later i went to check on on the stutas of my place in line... the reception person a dude with stars tattoo tells me "your next in line" so i go back set down and wait but the funny thing is that the ER got these big sign that say if you have chest pain let us know .... Im thinking well the ER staff knows i came in here with chest pain right so theyll tell something right ... No wrong... As seating there i see people come in and out of the ER and Im still waiting to see a doctor ... 5 1/2 hours with chest pain and setting patiently waiting, i walk back up the front desk and this the guy behind the desk tell me you been here for 5 hour 38 minute with a smile on his face this time right. So i tell him, look Ive seen people get here after me and leave before me ... Matter of fact i told him that Ive been seating here the longest and the dude actually told me "what do you want me to say" ... I told him so it cool for a person to wait in your ER for over 5 hours and nobody even say hey we have forgotten about you ... By this time a nurse tell me that she would check with the doctors and find out what the deal was ... 20 minutes later i finally get to a bed in the back ... the ER doctor explain there are only two ER doctors on duty ... people ... their was like over fifty people waiting for help ... help ... ok so then he start by telling that my EKG was fine so that why i was waiting ... but then he start exam and then tell me that he wants to run tests on me and that i was going to be there for another two to three hours ... personal i was like hell no ... over 8 hour in an ER ... so i tell him im leaving, im not saying 3 more hours what do you think ... im free to spend all day in the ER ... The doctor then tell me that i need to sign a release ... i was like why if there nothing wrong with me ... That just show you and prove to me that they total forgot about me and when they start looking at me they found something that wasnt right ... doctor was probably like, wait something is wrong with him and we had in yhe waiting room for over 5 hours and they wanted me to sign a release in case i die in the parking lot ... so im out here in the parking finshing up this reveiw and then im heading back to San Antonio Military Center ... its sad people ... we complaining about the military care ... but im tell you what ...the very worst day at SAMC ... is better than the care i got here at CHRISTUS SANTA ROSA on WESTOVER HILL ... If your a vet say away and if you a civilian chose a different ER ... you might die in the ER waiting room ... thats the truth.

The worst hospital/service I have ever experienced. Got here at 9 am, in severe pain. Went in to get my vitals checked. The P.A. was texting on her phone while the other guy was looking at another patient. They sent me back out to the waiting room. I got called back to get labs drawn and they sent me back to the waiting room. Then they called me in to make a payment (found it odd that Im paying for something when I hadnt even been seen) then I go back out to sit for another 2 1/2 hours. After 5 hours I get called back, I was ready to be in my own room after sitting in the waiting room all morning. 330 pm I get walked back to a gourney sitting out side another patients room. The nurse proceeded to tell me that they didnt have a room available but will have one soon. So then after like 30 minutes the doc comes up and asks whats going on and I explain that I had been throwing up every morning like 4 times a day for the past month and I had sudden lower abdominal pain. He felt my stomach and walked away. The nurse put a bolus of 0.9 N.S. on me. As i proced to wait, i see rooms that have been cleaned that they said i would get into. They kept pulling peiole out of the waiting room and put at least 5 other people in rooms while i sat in the hallway with a blanket. No pillow nothing. I wait another hour and my mom calls asking whats going on and I tell her exactly what was going on and she called the ER to see why I hadnt been taken to a room and what the plan was because somethung didnt sound right. The nurse got off the phone with my mother and told the doctor that she had called. ( need in minds in no more than 6 feet away from them so I can hear them talking. They were pissed off that my mom had called and got very upset that she did so. They both proceeded to talk about me and my mother. And once they were done the nurse came up and said with an attitude "well your mom called here and we cant talk to her unless its in your phone, (understandable HIPPA < which we will get back to that). She walked away and went to the desk. Then the doc came back up and said "well we checked your blood and it doesnt show any infection in your appendix so Im going to send you home with muscle spasm medication. He did not address my nausea, weight loss, or my pain. Back to HIPPA. As a medical professional my self. I know HIPPA laws. I heard multiple patients medical history, why they were there now. And information I should not be hearing. Maybe thats why patients shouldnt be left in the hallway for 3 1/2 hours. Im calling HR to file a formal comoplaint.

Was sent over here by my doctor after being at his office with cold sweats, chest pains, and overall just feeling really bad. My doctor took my blood sugar (Ive never been diagnosed as diabetic and 3 months earlier my BS was 110) and it was 592!!! I went straight here to be seen and my doctor called ahead letting them know I needed to be treated right away. I was called back from the main waiting area after about 45 minutes and had my blood drawn, given an IV port and then taken to registration and did that. I was put is a second waiting area because I had an IV which was basically a room with hard chairs that at least 15 other people were sitting in. I sat in that room for SIX HOURS!!! Never saw a doctor! Not one nurse came to check on me! I watched as a young woman across from me struggled to breathe because her tonsils were so swollen and her dad had to go get a nurse several times to help her. They finally brought in fluids and meds for her after about 4 hours. Right next to me was an elderly woman with her grand daughter and the elderly woman was bleeding from a head wound on the back of her head. They didnt even wrap her head with gauze and the grand daughter had to keep getting up and cleaning it and holding paper towels on her head. After sitting there for six hours I finally had enough and went and asked them to get someone to take my IV port out and told them I was going somewhere else. Waited 30 minutes and never saw anyone so I walked out. Ended up at Texas Methodist hospital of San Antonio and was called back AND saw a doctor after sitting in the waiting room for TEN MINUTES! Had blood work, X-ray, ultrasound and given 2 bags of fluids within 3 hours! They got my blood sugar down and sent me home in less time then the 6 freaking hours I sat at christus! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT TAKE YOURSELF OR FAMILY MEMBERS HERE IF AT ALL AVOIDABLE! Texas Methodist was a 15 minute drive from this hospital and their service was beyond awesome! Go to Texas Methodist! I repeat .... go to Texas Methodist! Theyre clean, extremely friendly staff and wait times are not long! They have a great system that works!!
