I have taken 3 of my dogs here and had an entire litter of pups prepped for adoption (tails docked and dew claws removed for like $15-$20 a pup). My beloved 4 yr old "rescue" Boxer was very Ill when I took her in, sick from parasites and heartworms. She went through extensive heart worm treatment after a lot of back and forth about what to do because it was so expensive. There is obviously no guarantee that the dog will live through this procedure, and the prognosis of an older dog with severe heart worms always more bad than good. They did a lot of background testing and gave us medication to put her on to prepare her for the treatments. The cost was a fraction of what other places were trying to charge so we went there after several consultations with other places. She did great and started looking really good, but shortly after her 3rd treatment she suffered from a blood clot that had passed to her lungs, which is the #1 reason of death for dogs undergoing treatment. It was obviously not their fault, and I appreciated all the help they were able to give us. This may sound cold, but knowing that I didnt spend two or three times what I paid in vet bills on treatment was a relief when I had to put her down after watching her suffer and not be able to breathe. The staff is a little under-educated (the assistants, not the vets), but in all honestly, they are paid less so the doctors charge the customers less. If you need routine visits, shots, spay/neuter, heartworm medication / treatments, x-rays, tail-dock, ear crops, dew claw removal, or even something VERY serious, start here. Its worth the drive across town to save hundreds (and I literally mean HUNDREDS). They may spend less money on the facilities, and hire some under educated admin staff, but it shows in your vet bill, and if you can tolerate the wait and attitude from some of the girls, once you actually get to the vets, they are great.

My dog had his eye scratched at 11 at night so we had to go to VERGI on Campbell Rd. (a 24 hr pet ER). They told us we would need to immediately remove his eye, which would be $1100. They later mentioned a flap surgery that would cost $2500. They acted like everything was urgent and we had no time to think. We ultimately left (after like 6 hours and $300) and took him home and used the meds they gave us on him all night. The next morning we took him to Affordable Pet Clinic who didnt try to push the surgery on us (but said if we wanted to do it they could do it for $300) and said that with a few meds his eye could probably heal itself (and if it didnt we could do the surgery in two weeks). I was so impressed at their prices but more importantly that unlike VERGI they were willing to try the non-invasive, cheapest solution before doing something so final, horrible and expensive as removing his eye. Also, their visits are only $20 and the meds we got from them (many of which were the exact same as the ones we got from VERGI) were reeeeally inexpensive. For example, one med at VERGI was $50 and the exact same one in the same quantity was $10 at APC. Its extremely affordable. Also, the doctor was very warm and very bright. The staff was very sweet and welcoming. My dogs eye has recovered about 70% with the meds they gave us, which is way better than we ever thought it would be. He can still even partially see out of it. If we hadnt gone to APC to get a second opinion my dog would only have one eye and I would be in several thousand dollars debt now. I am more appreciative of APCs honesty, professionalism and integrity than I can even put in words. I cant recommend them highly enough.

I live 25 miles away, but I bring my cat and 2 dogs here for all their shots and heart worm and flea medicine. Their prices are among the lowest in the Houston area. CONS: I just make sure to come as soon as they open in the morning because it gets pretty crowded later in the day. Also some of the people who bring their pets here don’t train them, so it gets noisy. The receptionists and techs are not particularly professional, attentive or show a lot of love towards the animals, but they are not rude either (Just kind of neutral and fast). I usually don’t even see a doctor, and the techs are very straight forward and try to get you out as fast as possible (Kind of perfect for a clinic). PROS: I’d normally give it 3 or 4 stars for their prices, but on my last visit I took my newly adopted 2-year old dog. I asked for an actual examination (I had a feeling she had heart worms and other things). To my surprise, 3 tech and 2 different doctors came to check on her, took stool and blood samples, showed so much concern with the fact that she was heart worm and hook worm positive, asked me so many questions, gave me so many options and really just took the time to talk to me about how to take care of her. I paid about $200 for her physical exam, all booster shots, blood and stool tests, flea pill, initial heart worm treatment, heartworm pills for 6 months and a week’s dewormer for the hookworms. I am extremely pleased with the way they handled her (she’s huge and was very nervous and shy). I believe they do all they can to help as many pets in a timely manner. Very awesome place.

I was referred only because my sister in-law took my dog there along with her dogs to get checked up. I looked up their website and noticed appointments were offered so I took the time to fill out the information online and waited for a phone call for verification. A couple of days past and no one ever called to get verification. I asked my sister in-law to ask about walk-ins since I was at work and I figured Id take in my dog after work. She texts that theyre not answering and thought they were busy. Not a good sign so far. So I thought Ill just "walk-in" since its just a simple check-up. I get there and the place looks "neglected" outside and in. There were so many patients and for a minute I had second thoughts of "waiting" but I thought why not...my dogs last check-up records were here. I signed in and waited....and waited and waited. Soon after about a couple of hours I began noticing people that signed in "after" me were being called. I ignored the first two, but after about the fifth and sixth, I had enough. I wasted 2 1/2 hours of not being seen at all. So I asked someone nicely for his records so that I could leave but even that took too long. Unfortunately, no one ever got back to me with my dogs file, so I left empty handed. Im glad my dog didnt requiring "emergent" care. Take your chances. I guess you do get what you pay for. Poor customer service.

Good for shots and xray, cause there cheap. If your dog has a real problem. U should take them to animal Hospital of Humble. The do full exam and ask questions and show interest in your pet. And the have over night staff. Affordable pet clinic does not. And they take on so many pets just to get payed. They dont ever show care or Interest. They get u in and out. Expsuly the Indian female doctor. Dont trust that shell take care of your pet. I took my dog in there for a hurt leg that got fought in the blanket. She was like since its an on going thing. Its cause she so small. I told her that my dog has never here problems with her leg till now. So were did she get the assumption? My brother took his dog in today.they have records on that he died for a min. Cause of the meds they put him on and told my brother. Well he needed to get a stone out of him and gave him to much. They gave my brother a paper about leaving him there to take care of him or to take him home. But no one ever told him about the paper. The just gave him his dog and said , here his meds. And even if they told him, theres no one there to watch him. They asll leave and no one watches them after they leave. So he would have die there. What kind of vet is that. Dont care about your pets. Just of getting payed.......
