After moving to Houston a few months ago we have been searching for a new vet. We gave Pet Vet a shot. Our first visit here was for our kitten who had an upper respiratory infection. The appointment went great and we went home with an antibiotic. A couple weeks later our other cat began showing signs of the infection. His eyes became swollen and filled with discharge. We decided to bring him to pet vet as well. The vet seemed great at first. We explained that we have previously brought our kitten in for an upper respiratory and we think it has spread to our other cat, causing his eyes the trouble. We also explained that the infection seems to be going back and forth between the left and right eye.. She says that she wants to dye the eyes to check that this is not caused by scratches to the eye... Seemed a little unnecessary... So she opens the tiniest little fluorescent green strip of dye and applies it to his eye followed by Equate saline solution (regular Walmart brand human eye solution that cost $5 for a bottle).. Of course there are no scratches.. She then decides the eye trouble must be from the infection.. Surprise surprise.. So she gives us an oral steroid, an eye ointment steroid, and an antibiotic to take home. We go to check out and we have been charged regularly for the visit and medication but then an additional $87 to check for the scratch.. $37 for the dye and FORTY DOLLARS for the couple of drops of Equate saline solution. Are you kidding me?!? I tried to discuss this with the guy at the front desk but he did not care. Not only is $40 for a couple drops of equate saline solution the most unreasonable thing I have ever heard of, but any other vet would have explained such a big cost up front, or even just avoided that step of checking for a scratch all together considering he was having trouble with BOTH eyes with a known upper respiratory infection. We really thought we had found a great vet but we will not return after today. Absolutely unreasonable & MONEY HUNGRY!

Im not sure if theyve hired new people since the previous reviews but every single person I interacted with was so extremely nice! The receptionist was so ridiculously sweet, which put me at ease since I was turned down at the 2 vet clinics I went to before that (corner vet and Snap). They saw me immediately without an appointment and the entire appointment lasted about 30 mins - including wait time for a fecal test to come back. The vet was a woman (which is great because my dog is afraid of men) and she and the assistant were awesome. They chatted with me and loved on my dog so he was as comfortable as he could be in his situation. They gave my dog an antibiotic- which the assistant also so nicely cut up some of the pills into halves for me- since he has to take 1.5 each dose. They even explained the best way to use greenies pill pockets (which I was able to buy right there) for fussy pill-takers and it has worked like a charm! After the first dose he is already eating again and after the second he has slept through the entire night (something that hadnt happened since his issues started). I would say its middle cost- def not high but not super low like corner vet. They run tests in-house and have all the pills you need as opposed to corner vet where you have to wait a day for results and order the medication you need, which is a hassle when you want and need immediate results. Also- Pet Vet is open every day of the week! I will definitely be coming here for any full service vet needs from now on! Thank you guys- you turned a stressful experience into a positive outcome. Im so grateful!

It is unfortunate that I have to rate this clinic with an upper limit of "fair". I adopted a dog from BARC about a year ago and took him to this vet for a checkup. What I later found out was a minor kennel cough (later treated for free by BARC), the vet on staff told me was possibly distemper (or Parvo, cant remember exactly, whatever one causes coughing) and should be treated immediately. She overwhelmed me with shots and boosters that were recommended to ensure little Dexter would live past next week. She said I could either wait and hope for the best, chance are he would be dead in a week, or take the shots and at least he would have a chance. (I really wish I were over exaggerating here). I took the first few boosters just in case and said I would get a second opinion. I also had blood work and x-rays performed, under the recommendation of the vet and was never given a proper explanation of either. I ended up having to take a personal pic of the x-rays and scan a copy of the blood work to send to a friend I know in vet school. On top of all of this, the vet I saw was for lack of a better term, a condescending b*tch. I will NEVER return to this clinic and urge other to do the same. There are numerous other clinics in the heights area with far better customer service. If anyone would like evidence backing any claims I have made here, contact me through google+, I will be happy to share any documentation, bills I received on the day I visited this clinic.

I came rushing to this clinic today with my Pug, he went from seeing just fine to crashing into things that were right in front of him, I called a vet office much closer to my house and was told the cant see him until Wednesday!!! I literally was driving to SNAP when I saw this clinic, something told me to give them a shot and man am I glad I did! Not only were they super nice when I rolled in literally 20 mins before they closed, they were very professional, caring and worked with my budget! Nemo got excellent care in a timely manner, never once did I feel like I annoyed them for coming in so late. I wish I could remember everyones name but my brain was in overdrive and I completely forgot. They explained everything they were doing, were very caring when handeling Nemo and took the time to explain how to administer his meds! I will be bringing all my fur babies here from now on it is really comforting knowing there is a Vet out there that truly cares about their patients and has an amazing caring staff as well! Thank you so much for helping us today guys it really means a lot

I am so grateful for them. My Edgar jumped of my lap and started to yelp very bad. They where closing in a few mins but they said they would stay open if I could get him there quick. They said he had a dislocated knee and popped it right back in. Dr. Williams was the best. He told us what happened and what to do. They made my little Edgar all better. I will be for ever in there debt for making my dog better. I will take all my fur babies to them from now on. Thank you so much. All of you are so awesome.

Absolutely amazing clinic! Always clean and pristine, the receptionist is knowledgeable and great at explaining things! As is both of the drs; Marcella and a nice male doctor! Both of my great danes had the dreaded Parvo disease, at separate times, and with the help of this clinic, I was able to save them at a reasonable cost. They even worked with me on a busy day, since I had no appointment,! LOVE THEM!
