The experience that most people have at Meyerland Animal Clinic will be positive and the quality of the actual service provided will generally match any other clinic in Houston. This isnt necessarily the best place to look for value, but veterinary offices generally are not. My problem with Meyerland Animal Clinic, which is entirely personal and does not mean that anyone else will experience the same, stems from an issue that I had with a member of the veterinary staff in 2009 and, I believe, may be indicative of the general disposition of the management and employees based on some observations and anecdotal evidence. My dog (who is a trained working retriever) presented with a horrible rash over his neck and shoulders (which proved to be a food allergy) and I brought him in for a consultation with the vet. He was wearing a Tritronics electronic collar at the time (I probably should have known better) and the vet that I saw attempted to ascribe the rash to the use of the e-collar, which was not a logical conclusion to say the least, and began a monologue about the many evils of operant conditioning incorporating positive punishment. This was somewhat disappointing to me so I voiced my disagreement with her position, offered my perspective along with some supporting empirical evidence and reminded her that I was actually at the clinic because of a rash on my dogs neck. She told me she was sure it was a result of the collar and recommended that I stop immediately, so I excused myself. As I left the clinic, she poked her head out the door and said "Good luck hunting" with some considerable venomous inflection. Get the picture? I had a vastly superior experience a few hundred yards away at the Westbury Animal Hospital, which is still my primary veterinary service provider. I have no problem with a veterinarian who is passionate about his or her profession and wants to teach his or her clients to make them better stewards to their pets, but if you have lost objectivity due to an ideological disagreement then thats a problem and its unprofessional. I apologize for the rant, but be aware that you may (or may not) encounter some "progressive" attitudes towards any training styles that do not involve clickers and pieces of hot dogs. Also, if you dont want strangers giving your dog treats for no reason, make your wishes known immediately. If you want to discuss this further or desire more information, please inbox me. Its not at all my intention to besmirch anyones character, but if I had known that one of the doctors at MAC had that sort of outlook and attitude then I wouldnt have wasted any time there and I would extend that courtesy to other people via Google Review.

Brought my cat in as a walk-in-new patient, because he was very sluggish and not himself. Being brand new to the area and that it was a Friday afternoon , I did not want to risk a weekend emergency. I had no issue with waiting. My cat was checked over and nothing was found. I was told to watch him and call in the morning if there were any problems. I found an oozing abcess under my cats right leg on Saturday morning. I called at 9:06 and was told to get him there by 9:30. I did. I knew the Saturday schedule was filled. We were not see until 11:45, but by then, my husband had left to pick up our daughter. When the vet did come in, he looked at the wound, assessed it, had it cleaned up, prescribed antibiotocs and was done. He was very nice. I really liked everyone there. And then I paid. When I questioned paying another office visit, I was told it was the lower priced one, but a different doc. Because the office closed at 12, I was allowed to wait OUTSIDE with my cat on their porch until my family could come back and pick me up - 12:30. Clouds and thunder. The staff did give me a small bottle of water for the wait. I will probably return, because I believe the vets are good, the staff is very nice...this experience was three star.

I am giving one star since I cant give zero. Being new in the neighborhood, I stopped by to purchase some Advantage topical flea care for my cat. I was in a rush and needing to get this today before I went in to work. I was rudely told by the receptionist that they couldnt sell me anything for fleas without examining my cat. I have never been told this by any other vet clinic, and I have had cats for years. I know what a flea looks like, and I know my cat has them. Theres absolutely NO REASON for an exam for this except pure greed. DO NOT come here because they obviously care more about $$$ than helping animals. They have lost a client here.

Take your wallet and dont expect much in post-op care.My cat has liver desease. The vet gave him a 50-75% chance of recovery. I had the cat fitted with a feeding tube and he left the office with a few days supply of medicine. Had the cat boarded a week later - the office staff didnt notify the care staff about the weekend. The care staff didnt have the ingredients for his special diet or a blender to make it. The office manager apologised profusely Monday and threw in two cans of DM free (value $3) on the boadring fee of $353. I had to remind them about the pills, etc. and no one at the vets office wanted to schedule any follow up.

I am a regular at MAC, with what is considered a zoo of 4 cats, 2 Papillons, and a foster Pap every now and then. I have been using this vet office since 2000, and have had nothing but excellent care with anything from a simple bath fro my Paps to a cat with extreme GI and urinary problems that led to special surgery at the Gulf Coast Vet Hospital where Mr. Kitty turned into "Ms. Thang" ... when I ultimately had to put him to sleep, the entire staff could not have been more thoughtful if he had been their own. I dont hesitate about recommending them to anyone!

Meyerland Animal Clinic has wonderful veterinarians and staff. I have two dogs and a cat and whenever we go to our appointment they never keep us waiting. They always greet us with a smile. The veterinarians are attentive, personable and will answer as many questions as you have. Everyone there is very patient and loving towards me and my pets. They make going a positive experience and the prices are reasonable.

This clinic deserves a five star review. The price is reasonable and we cannot be more satisfied with their services. We are not even charged for a progress check. Too sad that our dog has a terminal illness that they cannot cure him. But they have done whatever they can to keep him as comfortable as possible during his last days. Dr. White is a very kind person. Highly recommended.

I feel lucky to have found Meyerland Animal Clinic so quickly after moving to Houston! Dr. White has taken excellent care of my two cats. She is always so professional, thorough, and never in a rush. Recently, she wasnt available, and Dr. Rabinowitz saw my cat. He was equally thorough and professional. The front desk staff and vet techs are always really helpful as well!
