I went to Dr. Barcio because I was having problems with my menstrual cycle, and hadnt been getting my period for a few months. Im 18, so it was also my first gyno appt. Im sure Dr. Barcio frequently has patients coming in who have had problems getting their menstrual cycle, but i would have liked for her to be slightly more empathetic towards me, because for me losing my period is a new and worrying experience. I got a blood test done and tested negative for any thyroid issues, so she decided to put me on a medication that was supposed to "force" me to get my period. In my opinion, Dr. Barcio should have made a follow up appt. to talk about the treatment plan, but instead she got one of her nurses to call me and tell me that i had to take this medicine. The nurse obviously knew nothing about the medicine or treatment plan, which is understandable considering she isnt the doctor, but she seemed like she was too busy to talk to me and gave me one word answers when I asked any questions. All the nurse told me was that this medicine is supposed to be taken for seven days and it will make me get my period. Am I going to start getting a period every month after taking this medicine or does will it only make me get it once? What happens if I get my period once and then continue not getting it? What side effects should I be aware of? If its not a thyroid issue, what else could have caused me to lose my period? When it comes to something as serious as reproductive health, I want to make sure that any medicine I take or any treatment plan I go through is going to benefit me. Dr. Barcio is clearly knowledgeable about her field, but I think she fails to empathize with her patients and inform them on whats going on.

Dr. Barcio is a good doctor, she just has a very dry personality. She is very direct, does not beat around the bush (which I greatly appreciate), and doesnt sugar coat things. If you are looking for an overly friendly doctor who really wants to get to know you, she is not the one. I had a missed-miscarriage and she is the one who informed me as well as performed my D&C at Willowbrook Hospital. I know she is a busy, successful doctor... I just wish she could have at least called and checked on me being how terrible of an experience I went through. Just would have been nice to have been cared about.... at least one call to see how I was doing. However, her nurse Michelle is incredibly sweet and there to talk to. The office is clean and in a good location (Vintage Park area), but trying to get ahold of anyone on the phone is borderline impossible.

I was seeing Dr. Barcio for my 1st pregnancy and I had no idea what to expect. I felt like I couldnt talk to her, and was embarrassed to ask questions. She was too shy and quiet to make me feel comfortable. When I was 16 weeks we were in for the gender reveal and they noticed something was wrong with the baby and she left me a voicemail to call her back. She told me they were sending me to a specialist and did not give many details. After seeing the specialist, I was sent to Texas Childrens and we ended up losing the baby at 20 weeks. I never once received a call from Dr. Barcio to check on me... it was a terrible time and for her to not even be concerned, was 100% reason to never go back there. Pregnancy is a scary thing and you want someone there you can trust and someone you feel comfortable with, she was not the one for me.

So far not impressed. Be warned- during regular gestation (fetal development) check-ups, it is your responsibility to inform the front desk what type of appointment needed. The information from the doctor to the desk clerks (or whatever their title may be) does not travel well. Listen carefully to the doctors observation and make sure you relay instructions to the front desk when making your next appointment. All ultrasounds are performed by a third party company and require a separate appointment. Dr. Barcio is...competent at best. No more, no less. Their office is probably amazing with routine "well womens" exams but anything outside of that takes much more effort on the patients part.

I have been a patient of Dr. Barcios for many years. This is my 2nd pregnancy under her care and I still would recommend her; as I have already sent some friends over. In her absence Dr. Russell takes care of us as if we were his patients. Dr. Barcio doesnt rush through my appointments and when my husband is present she always makes a point to answer all of his questions no matter how similar they are. Claudia, her nurse, is very attentive. The front desk team is great as well as the back office team. All your services are handled in the same building (LabCorp and Sound Ultrasound).

Love Dr. Barcio shes the best! If you want to feel secure and confident in the person taking care of your pregnancy and delivery shes the one. Of course shes not gonna be your best friend thats not her job her job is to make sure you and your baby are well taken care of and shes the best at that. Love her and her staff she delivered my three boys and has truly been God sent!

Dr. Barcio explain to me everything very good Im going to my first pregnancy so Im very excited to deliver my first baby with those angels hands... my love to all dr. Barcio staff:) :)

Absolutely love Dr. Barcio and her office staff!! She was always there to answer my questions and was never in a hurry to leave the room. She was amazing during the delivery of my baby always checking in on me through the day and after the delivery as well.
