We originally selected Dr. Kirkman because of the positive reviews she had. I am writing this to ensure other families do not fall into the same trap that we did. Dr. Kirkman was present for about half of the appointments that Dr. Kirkman set up, so if your a patient that expects to see your doctor every visit, this is not your doctor. My wife didnt see Dr. Kirkman once the entire second trimester! My wife got to see nurses and other side kick doctors that couldnt even answer important questions that my wife had. Dr. Kirkman called and set us up to be induced. We showed up to the hospital and the nurses got the induction going. After about 5 or 6 hours, Dr. Kirkman called another doctor and had them break my wifes water because she was once again too busy to be there. Thats when things went south, long story short, the baby almost died after 6 more hours of contractions and a steadily dropping heartbeat. Still no Kirkman, another doctor had to rush in and whisk us away to the operating room and perform an emergency C-section. We dodged a bullet, Mom and baby are fine and we have been in the after birth recovery room for 2 days now, still not one word from Kirkman. I have called her office and left numerous messages, our nurse has called her and left a message. Unfortunately we cant leave the hospital until Kirkman releases my wife, so here we are, on lockdown at the hospital accumulating bills with no end in sight and no idea where our doctor is! Who wouldnt be pissed?! I hope people will read about our experience and it will help other families avoid getting stuck with an OBGYN that is too busy to see you when it really counts. To continue to accept new patients because your popularity level is up is extremely greedy and irresponsible if you dont have the capacity, it almost cost us our sons life.

I do not normally do reviews like this so this is new for me. My experience occurred 2 months ago. I would love to give a review for Dr. Kirkman, but the truth is I still havent met her. My primary physician recommended her, and Im sure she is great, but I have had the unfortunate luck to have dealt with her nurse practitioner at both visits Ive had. My 2nd visit I went in with concerns of a missed period by 2 months (very out of the norm for me), nausea, headaches, and tremors. Before I was even able to get the full list of symptoms out, her NP, Jackie Spindler (I think thats her last name) told me it was because I was overweight. I have been overweight my whole life, so why am I missing periods now? She insisted it was because I was overweight. For the 2nd time since I met her, she suggested the South Beach diet and sent me on my way. I know my body. Something was wrong and she didnt even do an exam or check anything, let alone hear me out. Fast forward 2 months. Turns out after having to see an endocrinologist, multiple labs and finally having to have a CT scan, an ovarian cyst was detected on the CT. Shouldnt the OB/GYN have been the first to discover this?? Well no, because apparently its just because Im overweight. I sincerely hope Dr. Kirkman reviews this with her NP because not only did she absolutely hurt my feelings practically calling me fat (told me to stop crying during the appointment), but my concerns were not in my head and something was actually wrong. I just hope and pray this cyst is of the normal variety and not something crazy serious. I will find out next week. Wish me luck, and I hope you take my situation into consideration when setting up appointments in the future.

Every single freind of mine said she was a good doctor, but the truth is her practice is so busy that out of your nine months you will see her once and when you are going to deliver if she comes. She told us she would be there for my delivery and then I was told she was on vacation that week which means she lied to me that she was going to be there. Anyways Dr bui Thompson showed up for my delivery she said she was sent by Dr Kirkman and she was the on call physician, it gets better, she did not even come see me after the delivery to make sure every thing went well I was discharged by the Cypress fairbanks hospital without being seen by a physician and I was having severe headaches and dizziness they sent me home, the next day I was in the emergency room for blood patch which is a procedure they do if you have complications due to epidural which I was telling them but if the doctor had seen me she would have known my symptoms and would have taken care of it. I made to the hospital and the physician on call said glad you came on time, most people cant figure out why they are having headaches and they die. So please choose wisely. She may be good but I like to see the physician in all my visits not all but at least a few times. One time her staff had me seated in the room for an hour waiting on her and they had forgotten about me that they had me in the room.

I loved her when I met her, but then never really saw her again. During my pregnancy I only met with her twice, at initial appointment and then during my 7th month. I gave birth on a Sunday and was told she would not be there because she was off for the weekend. I spent most of my appointments with her PA who I personally did not like. She only provides information if you ask very specific questions (this was my 1st baby so I didnt really know what to ask) and her response to everything is "thats normal" with no explanation. I was never given the option to discuss a birth plan (always told I would go over that with the doctor but then never saw the doctor) and was only given my babys estimated weight when I requested it during month 9 ( all the babies in my family where 10 lbs + so this was a concern for me that they knew about) and the weight was provided in grams. I feel if I had actually appointment with Dr. Kirkman I would feel different because I truly enjoyed her, but she was always too busy to see me and her PA never made me feel comfortable.

She is the worse dr. Ever. During my daughters pregnancy she only saw dr. Kirkman twice. She had problems constantly during her pregnancy and not one time did dr. Kirkman come or even call the hospital. Whenever it was time for her monthly visits, there were so many patients they would be standing in the hall. When my daughter went into labor she wasnt even there. The baby was born at 21 wks. Another dr. Had to deliver her. When I arrived at the hospital the baby was still breathing, my daughter was holding her in her arms until she finally just passed away. It was the saddest day of our lives. Dr. Kirkman never showed up. I wouldnt recommend a living soul to this doctor.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kirkman if youre looking for an OB/GYN. She has been my doctor through two very tough pregnancies for me, and she has always helped me make the best decisions regarding decisions Ive had to make. Yes, shes busy because shes great at what she does! Ive been through other doctors that treat you like a number and are very rough. She has very gentle hands and I trusted her with my two babies, and Im so thankful I found her!
