I myself am a store manager & have worked with customer service all my life. I have never complained about customer service anywhere for any reason, because I usually understand the reason behind certain bad situations, but the "service" I received from the receptionist at this facility was PETRIFYING! I can not believe such person works in customer service, & nevertheless with ailing animals. My puppy got extremely sick on a Friday night. I stayed up all night trying to comfort him as best as I could, praying he would make it over night so that I could take him to the vet in the morning. I usually take my pets to another facility, but they are closed on the weekend, so I researched online for a clinic that would be open, and came across this one and noticed it opened only in the morning & closed at noon. After an extremely long night with no sleep, I took my puppy in my car and headed towards their office. I was driving and decided to call to get more detailed directions, since I had never been there. It was 11am & the internet Ad says they close at 12pm. The women answered & I asked her for directions and told her that I was on my way with my DYING DOG, and she REFUSED to give me directions because that they stop taking patients at 11am. I told her AGAIN, that I was already in their neighborhood, but just needed final directions, and I pleaded to her to please allow my DYING DOG to get signed up. She still did not give me directions. I said fine and asked her if by any chance she knew of another facility that would be open. She responded with "nope." I explained to her how extremely unhelpful she was & I recommend that whoever is in charge of their website, should note that they stop taking patients an hour before closing. I had to park my vehicle to research another vet office where their website says they close at 2 & guess what? THEY HONOR THAT TIME & STOP TAKING PATIENTS AT 2. Makes sense to me. I read all these great reviews about the vet, too bad I didnt get to meet him. Your office staff needs training on sensibility. It is also sad to know that as I spoke about this incident with a family member, she told me she experienced a very similar situation with this "lady" at your front desk. I wonder how many patients she has turned away.

Reading all the great reviews, I decided to take in a very weak and malnourished stray kitten for a first time check up. But I was very disappointed. It took an - hour - for the staff to call me in. The assistant weighed the cat, but failed to share the weight with me (I found the weight recorded in the summary after the visit). He also told me he was having trouble obtaining a temperature, so he brought in a heating pad and took the kitten. I was asked to wait in the lobby until I was called in again. I waiting for - ANOTHER - hour until I was finally updated. A female vet (cannot recall her name) "updated" me saying that the kitty was very weak and that it was important for me to keep her warm. She also diagnosed the kitten with a respiratory infection and provided me with antibiotics as well as eye drops. She did demonstrate how to administer the medications. She also advised me to buy baby food like Gerber and Pedialyte to feed the kitten with, and then they sent me on my way. I arrived at the vets office at ~2:50 pm, they called me in for the first time at 4:01pm and was sent back to the waiting area at 4:06pm, I was called back in for the update at ~5:15 and left at ~5:25pm. My total was $80, which is relatively cheap. But the services were correspondingly cheap in quality (in my opinion). Even in the summary, under sex, they filed "undertermined". Youre not going to take a second to see that the kitten is male? The next day, I decided to go online for additional information. I realized multiple things. The vet did not specify how much and how often I was supposed to feed the kitten. If they had asked me enough questions, they could have realized that this kitten is currently developing Fading Kitten Syndrome. If the vet had caught that, she would have instructed me to NOT bathe the kitten due to its low temperature. If they had taken the time to properly assess the kitten, they would have seen that it was invested with fleas. With that information, they could have taken the initiative to draw blood in order to test for anemia. Its been two days since the appointment and the kittens health has only been declining. I know Im not a veterinarian, but I am positive that more could have been done for this dying kitten.

Unlike the review i just read i have had nothing but great results from this doctor. He saved my dog Milo when he was about two months old. Milo had all the symptoms of parvovirus and had my wife and i very worried; thankfully it wasnt parvo. The Doctor gave me his medication and instructions as to how to care for him. For about two and a half weeks we strugled with our dogs health taking him back a couple of times to make sure we were doing the right thing. It was so bad one night when we got home i checked on him and did not get any response from him, my wife ofcourse started crying and beggin me to do something. I grabbed him rubbed his chest and checked for breathing and slowly he opened his eyes. The Doctor assured us, and gave us stronger medication. With the doctors advise and our persistence my dog Milo is now three human years old and is a bundle of energy. Now, i take Milo, and Chikis (my other dog) everytime they need a check up. Their office also sends me reminders as to when my dogs shots are due therefore making it easier for me to keep up with their health. Having a pet is a tremendous responsibility and a veterinarian can only do so much but i assure you they will take good care of your pets.

While I was very happy with my visit here. Follow up has been non-existent with this office. It turns out my dog needs a maintenance medication. I didnt get a promised phone call about the results of her blood test. Nor another promised call from the Vet once I called them, nor yet another promised call back concerning buying the meds she needs. If you decide to bring your pet here these folks are very kind, conscience, professional and the prices are awesome. However, be prepared to come back in person daily if a follow up is needed.

Saturdays get super packed. Was given a wait time of 45 minutes to an hour. I was actually waiting there for 2 and a half hours. they close for business at 11 am. by the time i was out it was 12:30 pm. I got there around 9:20 and was seen at 12. Once i was inside I was there for about less than 20 minutes because of a test they did that took 10 minutes. but other than the wait time the prices were okay. Ive been taking my dog there for almost 3 years, I just started taking my puppy in this past saturday.

I highly recommended Dr. Martin. My family and I have been taking all my pets with Dr. Martin for many years. Above all vets, he is the most excellent veterinarian doctor in Laredo and most knowledgeable in pet care. He is compassionate, caring, understand and extremely smart. He has very knowledgeable staff and I honestly trust him with all my pets. Doctor Martin is excellent listener he takes his time to hear out your concerns and makes you feel reassured. He is highly recommended. :-)
