I went for my pap in March and was given medication to begin my periods. Issues with that for years. Anyway, I hesitated to take it for a week or two and thought I should take pregnancy test first, since I was not given one at the time of my pap. Turns out I am pregnant and the midwife couldnt tell.-- I was 6-7 months pregnant at that point. This is my first and I had no symptoms to really indicate, other than what I thought was simple weight gain. The next few Dr visits went fine and I made it clear that despite being what they consider high risk, due to age and slightly elevated BP, I wanted to have my child as naturally as possible. It was made clear that they would try to induce me if they felt I was going" too long". Considering the conception date wasnt real clear I took a bit of a defensive stance and made it clear that I was not comfortable with that unless there was a DIRE need to do so. Just had my appt today with a different midwife in the same office and I have never been so horrified by the treatment of a medical professional. I was hoping that the mid wife would be at LEAST as understanding as the Dr but was told in no uncertain terms that I should seek other care sense they wouldnt be able to provide what I was wanting in my birth plan. I am realistic, I get there are certain situations that would dictate a deviation from what I truly wanted. I was asked "so you are just going to wait for the baby to be ready even if it is August?" Really, my approx due date is early July. The level of sarcasm and attitude that I got today was nowhere near what you would expect from a care giver of any kind. Stressed me out more than I have been since finding out! I typically dont write reviews but this warrants it. Being told "sorry" means nothing and I will go elsewhere as to not be stressed out during an already hectic time.

My wife and I are expecting our first baby, and after getting a recommendation from Texas Presbytarian hospital, we came to Craig Ranch. Our first experience was the ambience was great, the place was clean and there were plenty of staff, so what could go wrong? First visit: My wife swore that she has made the appointment on that day but the staff told her it was next week. We later were put on the schedule thankfully. It made her lose hours of work she has to later make up for. Lesson Learned: If you cant make the schedulee, dont reschedule without letting the client know ahead of time, even if it means saying no. We would rather be prepared for it. Later, when we checked out, being an inexperienced couple we had questions, but the staff appeared busy and were not helpful and sounded cold and rude. 2nd visit: My wife went there and described her issues of hard stool with pre-natals. We were given samples, and one sample has already expired. 3rd visit: My wife went there and described an issue, and being a inexperienced, she was aghast to find out that everything was not treated seriously and it is a common symptom. Another blood test was issued, and when asked why, the staff did not give a clear answer. This is the 3rd blood test in 2 months of pregnancy. I have not met any doctors and my wife did not meet one either. We still dont know who is going to deliver our baby and my goal was to build a good relationship with people, staff and doctor, but as it turns out, there is no one to talk to or can answer questions authoritatively. We dont feel assured and will switch to another ob-gyn soon.

Phenomenal experience with this group. I can never be able fully described how great and awesome Dr. Andrew Shimmer is. I highly recommend him for any OB/GYN services. I relocated from out of state at 35 weeks. It was a challenge getting a high risk OB to accept me at 35 weeks delivering by C-section. Fortunately for me, I was accepted by Craig Ranch OBGYN. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, efficient and kind. There is hardly any wait time for scheduled appointments. The most I had to wait was 10 mins. Dr. Andrew Shimmer delivered my baby via c-section at 38 weeks and 3 days and my whole experience was phenomenal. I hardly had any pain. I was out of bed and walking in my room by the end of the day, same day of my c-section. He had me on a fabulous pain management schedule. I was back on my feet in about 10 days or less. My c-section scar is barely noticeable now. Dr. Shimmer is the best. He is very humble, easy to talk to, very professional and thorough. He answered all the questions I had prior to my c-section and after c/s. He was even kind enough to answer my husband and my moms questions as well. I am truly grateful and honored that he delivered my little munchkin. I would highly recommend this group for any OB/GYN services. Try them out you will be glad you did.

When I first started going to Craig Ranch OBGYN, it was warm and welcoming. I didnt wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room and they were very kind. Well as time went on, it was clear that they kept accepting new patients and quite honestly that makes it unpleasant. The waiting time became 30 minutes or more. They updated their system and wanted people to fill out new paperwork. It became unorganized and I felt like I was just another number. I went to deliver my baby and from the start I told Craig Ranch that I wanted a female to deliver my baby. I didnt feel comfortable having a male do it while my husband is present. Well... that went right out the window and to top it off, the doctor was holding a his cell phone in one hand while delivering the baby in the other. How gross can you get? I mean people go on their phones when they are taking a dump. Lets be realistic folks. Also, I tried doing a follow up 6 week appointment and they insisted I had to see the doctor that delivered our baby. Well I wasnt a fan of that, plus hes only available on Mondays? You guys need to get your act together and start treating people like they are people and not numbers.

Im so disappointed in this place. I have never left a review (good or bad) anywhere but my experience was so bad that I felt like it was worth the effort. They were not very respectful and when I called to schedule a follow up ultrasound (as instructed by the nurse practitioner) they told me I had to see her first. I told them she I told me to just come back for a follow up ultrasound but they made me see her. The nurse didnt even read my chart and told me I didnt have ovarian cysts (why I got the ultrasound in the first place which confirmed I did) then she corrected herself and said, "oh wait you do." I understand we all make mistakes but the fact that I had to come in, pay the $100 for the office visit, then feel like she wasnt even aware of my situation was frustrating. When we called her about the situation to express concern she was very rude. I came back for a follow up ultrasound and met with a MD this time and she was prepping me for a biopsy. I wasnt there for a biopsy, she said she got mixed up on patients. Im sorry to leave this review but its just been a nightmare. Now I just got a $900 bill in the mail. Im so frustrated.
