Unfortunately, I have to be the first to give a bad review. After hearing only great things, I called to make my kids first apts. its about 35 minutes away from my home, but I heard it was worth it. When I called, I specifically asked if they took my insurance and they said yes. I took them in, and yes, it was a pleasant experience for both my kids. The dentist was nice, the office had toys , and it was a big open room. My daughter is only 18 months and her appointment was probably 2 minutes. But my sons was a full appointment. I go to check out, and they tell me they dont take my insurance and Ill have to pay almost 200 dollars, when my insurance covers 100 percent! I asked why the lady told me they take my insurance if they dont, and her response was "well we tell people we accept that insurance because sometimes they will cover out of network". Are you kidding me?! We could have gone somewhere that covered it! We will never be back, and make sure you know that they accept your insurance for sure! UPDATE: Less than 24 hours after I wrote this review I got an email from Dr Shaack himself offering to refund my money, and apologizing for whoever told me the wrong information. Im very impressed that I got a response from The dentist himself, and he seemed genuinely concerned about my experience. I appreciate this, and have changed my review, as they fixed their mistake. If they take your insurance, use Dr Shaack! Hes obviously a good guy!

We recently moved to McKinney and found this location from Google and helpful reviews. Even though I had my doubts (how could dentist office get nothing but 5 stars). This place is different, nothing like any dentist place I have been. The second my 3 yr old son and I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Kids chair, big wall painting, entire place is kid friendly. Once we went in for his appointment, one of the nurses and Dr. Schaak come over and and started drawing with my son on drawing table. Dr and I than chatted about what to expect on his first visit. My son felt soo comfortable, he even ended up getting x-rays done. And to top it off, he got soo many goodies to bring back with him. All Reviews about this location are dead on. I also want to say Thank You Dr and the office staff for your hard work. WE ARE DEFINITELY GOING BACK. ========================== Update August 2013. As I use google to read reviews, I wanted to update my previous post. We are still impressed by Dr Schaak and entire staff. We have recommended a friend as well who tells us they had an awesome experience as well.

Kelly - July 22, 2011 Our family had recently moved from Minnesota & we needed a new dentist for our kids. I called Dr Schaacks office and met with him today. He greeted us so pleasantly and showed such a great interest in our children. It was so refreshing to meet a professional who actually cared about his job. His staff was also so kind and friendly to the kids it made them both really relax and realize that going to the dentist is really not so bad. I am so happy that I chose Dr Schaack to be the one to take care of kids! HIGHLY recommend to anyone who is looking for an awesome dentist. I might add too, that I also found it great to be in the same room as the kids in case there were any questions that came up. The concept of his decor was extremely fun too. The video games to keep siblings busy while waiting was also an absolutely brilliant idea. Both my husband and myself partook is a video game ourselves. Thanks again Dr Schaack, Amber and Kaitlyn for all your help.

I LOVE the office staff here! They are fabulous and friendly and helpful. Dr. Schaak is great with the kids. We just had our 2 year old go in for his first check and I was amazed at how well it went. He and his staff cater to your individual child and treat them with respect. They talk through the procedures and make sure the kids know what is going to happen next. For our older son who has "soft" teeth (bad enamel) Dr. Schaak is good about explaining what treatment will be needed but also wants to make sure he isnt causing a lot of stress to the child or the mother. My son needs a lot of work done but instead of rushing into it, we are waiting and watching to give his permanent molar time to grow in fully so that treatment only has to be rendered once. AND they submit to insurance. I have never been able to find a pediatric dentist that does this. Amazing office, and amazing people.

I was looking for a Pediatric Dentist and came across Dr. Shaack on Google. I read most of the reviews and thought I would give them a try. Boy were the reviews right. I could not be more happy with the level of service and care my daughters received from Dr. Shaack and his outstanding team at McKinney Pediatric Dentistry. They were able to get my first daughter in the same day for an issue she was having. Dr. Shaack and his team took time to talk with us and made my daughter feel comfortable with him. My daughter had so much fun there, she asked me if she could come back the next day. We made an appointment for our second child and had the same experience a few days later. We cant say enough great things about Dr. Shaack and his outstanding group of professionals. Our family has found a pediatric dentist we will never leave. You will not be disappointed. Call them now!!!

I took my 3 year old for his second cleaning ever (after a bad experience at another location) and I was pretty nervous and he was a little scared too. But we had no reason to be worried at all and it was such a great experience! Everyone there was so welcoming and kind to us. From the time I called to make the appointment/when we walked in the door/back in the cleaning area/discussing my child with the staff and Dr. Schaack—everything was positive and we had a great visit. I really appreciated the “tell-see-do” approach that the staff had with my child. Not only did they fit us in for an appointment quickly, but they really made the experience a positive one. I know that we have found our permanent dentist now and my son has already asked when he gets to go back! I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist!

Hands down the most AMAZING dentist Ive ever seen! We have had several pediatric dentists over the years with several BAD experiences to go along with it. As a mother, I am beyond happy to have finally found a dentist that makes my children happy, comfortable and to have great experiences at a dentist for once. Dr. Shaack is very compassionate and caring Dentist! His genuine love and care for children is refreshing. My son,who had HORRIBLE experiences at a previous dentist, was terrified to go back for a cleaning. I convinced him to go and voila! Hes begging me to go back for an extra cleaning. Lol. My 3 year old had a lot of work done under sedation today and I couldnt be more pleased with the patience and understanding of the staff there. As moms we want the best for our children. Look no further! We will be using Dr. Schaak for years to come!!!!!
