Frustrated Mother
This would be a great clinic if Dr. Lei cared more about his patients than the money we bring in. Every time I have been in for an appointment he is in and out of the room so fast I dont even get the chance to voice any of my concerns. On multiple occasions I have had to have the MA go and take him out of another room that he rushed off to after spending only 10 minutes with me so I can get my questions answered. I cant help but feel bad for Dr. Leis employees as you can see the embarrassment on their faces because they know this physician doesnt care about the level of patient care he gives, only the amount of patients he can fit into one day and charge. It is frustrating to see a Dr. that is suppose to have my childs best interest at heart get irritated when I take up more than a few minutes of his time talking about my childs health. At one point in time I did not have insurance at the time of my visit and the office manager unethically announced in a lobby full of waiting patients that I was self pay because I did not have insurance, causing great embarrassment to me as everyone heard. And just so you know, if you ever need an x-ray done they will inform you that the technician is on call, but they wont disclose that itll be over an hour wait only to have the tech arrive unapologetically and curt just like the Dr she works for. I would switch providers in this clinic but frankly I cant stomach the thought of giving this place anymore money for the type of service they offer.

2 stars. For cleanliness & staff. Dr. carpenter was kind, and professional.. But they really need to work on their timing... 90 min is way too long to be at a doctors visit for a wellness check.. when its very obvious they were not busy with clients. Not at all bagging on anyones style, but the nurse with blue hair ( although kind ) kinda made it feel like an office youd see in west valley. Just didnt feel like she looked presentable.. just my opinion. I came straight from the gym and felt like as dirty as I was, I felt this entire office needed a major deep clean.. from scuz on the walls to dirty table toys.. to the obvious booger on the chair legs from previous kiddos. Also: a word to the front desk.. if someone is self pay.. do not announce it like youre worried they wont pay.. I quote the girls upfront " .. and she does not have insurance, so she is a "self pay" be sure you get all her information and make sure she pays today." Uh.. rude. I can understand for training purposes letting a new hire know this. But like I said this is not West Valley. This is Suncrest area and many people choose to self-pay because the penalty for not having Insurance is less than what a business owner would be expected to pay if having insurance. so Loudly announcing your worry that someone isnt going to pay may be better discussed in a private area that you can maintain professionalism of your clinic.

Dr. Greenberg is one of the best, knowledgeable, most kind doctors I have ever met. He was the one we saw when we found out my 5 year old had diabetes and he cried with us. I trust him completely. I did have a frustrating experience that I hope is addressed though. This last fall my daughter came down with croup, Dr. Carpenter saw her, and she was great I really like her and her bedside manner. A few days later my 1 year old gets the same seal bark, so I call the office and ask them to write a prescription for her as it is obviously the same thing. I was told I had to bring her in. No explanation. If I had been told she needed a steroid to be administered in the office it would not have been a big deal, but at the time I felt they were just trying to get more money from an office visit. So I took her to instacare instead. If the office staff had the training to be sure patients (or parents rather) completely understand why they are being told to come back in when it seems so unnecessary I would have brought her in. One of the reasons people have a primary care provider is so when an illness spreads through a family they do not need to go into the office multiple times. This clinic charges a great deal more than clinics in that area, so for me, customer service must be 5 star all the time.

I came here three times in the week prior to my daughter having to be admitted to the ICU at primary childrens with pneumonia. I came in Friday, Saturday, I called in on Tuesday because I was still concerned (they said to wait it out a little longer), and came in again on Wednesday. That would not develop over 4 days. The doctor I saw the first two times should have been able to hear and detect a pneumonia of my daughters size (3/4 of her lung). That doesnt happen overnight. He had a great bedside manner but he didnt take what I was saying seriously. He made me feel belittled the exact same way he is doing in the response. They couldnt have done a simple chest X-ray to check and cover all their bases? Of course it couldnt have been prevented, but it could have been caught sooner with better medical care and possibly prevented a stay in the ICU. I did appreciate doctor Greenburgs help. He was the one that finally caught it and called me at the hospital to follow up. I wish I could rate individual doctors and not the practice as a whole.

Dr. Lei has been amazing, my wife has taken our 15 and 13 year old children to him for years, my 7 year old has never been to another pediatric office he has always been attentive and caring. Bedside manner is second to none. However after the phone call we received today from his office manager. We question if we will ever return. The most unprofessional and rude woman, told my wife that the moment we got an explanation of benefits from our insurance that we are to immediately send a check, We have never been negligent on paying, and this time as usual paid what we could, over half the total bill, when the second bill shows up we will again payhalf or the total depends on amount, the office manager took none of this into account and continued to berate my wife blaming the computer system, rather than looking at the computer to see what long term customers we have been half or total depends on the bill size. we have done this for years, never an issue.

Great place for well child checkups, but if your kids are sick it is another story. We visit Dr. Lei and he is really great for annual visits. When my kids are sick we are NEVER able to make an appointment with Dr. Lei as he is too busy so we always end up seeing another Dr. That may not bother some people, but I am not a fan, I prefer consistency. Also, make sure to ALL of your questions and any questions you havent thought of yet while you are in the office. If you ever need to call and ask a follow-up question, it will take several hours to get a response. Once you do receive a response from an M.A. you wont be able to ask them any questions because they dont know anything and the Doctors will all be busy......Dr. Lei, I love you but youve got to hire a new office manager and work on scheduling so the staff can dedicate more time to existing patients and their well being.
