I brought my 2 month old in for a wellness checkup and was given a lot of grief throughout my visit. First off, I am a very agreeable person and I let things slide off easily. When asked by the nurse and Dr. Whiting (separately) if I had any questions or concerns about my childs development they didnt even answer and just looked at me like I was stupid. When they told me my child needed to get 3 sets of vaccines (2 shots, one oral) I asked the doctor if I could just get one shot at a time every two weeks. He then took on a very condescending tone of voice and railroaded over all of my concerns about the vaccinations! He then told me that my baby needed to get all of these at the same time and that what I wanted wasnt a realistic option. Whats it to them if I want to space it out!? He then sent the nurse in to give the shots which I still hadnt given permission to give... I ended up letting them give my baby the vaccines. They gave my baby 3 shots and the oral, not 2 shots and oral like they said! I then asked what the 3rd shot was and they told me it was for Hep B. WHICH I HAD NOT CONDONED. I didnt want to get the Hep B in the hospital because Hep B is a virus passed on through sexual intercourse and sharing needles. My 2 month old isnt promiscuous or a drug user so I dont think he qualifies for the "at risk" behavior. So all in all, 1. I was treated like I was incompetent 2. They shrugged off my development questions 3. I was bullied into getting my son bombarded with all of the vaccines at once and 4. They gave him a vaccination that I had not given permission for! Needless to say, I am absolutely livid about my experience with Dr. Whiting and his nurses. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone who actually wants to have their questions, concerns, and way when it comes to their children.

CAUTION: DO NOT TRUST ANYONE GIVING YOUR CHILD AN INJECTION AT APLINE PEDIATRICS. My 2 year old son was injected with the wrong drug! I had one of the worst experiences of my life with Darin Leslie (PA). I brought my two kids in because I suspected they had strep throat. My six year old daughter tested positive but my 2 year son did not. He told me that my son sounded like he had croup and that he could give him a steroid shot that would help with his breathing at night. I agreed to the injection which turned out to be a huge mistake! They injected my son with the wrong drug! They gave him an anti nausea medication at a dose 2X what it should have been for his weight size! My son passed out for 7hrs! I tried to wake him up but his eyes would just roll back into his head. Very scary!! I asked Darin Leslie how this could happen and his response was, “I don’t know, I don’t know what to tell you.” There is obviously a serious quality control problem going on at the Alpine Pediatrics in Lehi. In my mind something like this should never be allowed to happen. Why isn’t someone checking medications before there injected into a 2 year old!! The staff was very unapologetic and not very helpful. They wanted to give my son more drugs which could have made the situation even worse. I’m glad I called poison control because at least they had the decency to explain the situation and continued to follow up with me every 2hrs to make sure my son was ok. I have had good experiences in the past at Alpine Pediatrics with Dr. Knorr, Dr. Whiting, and Dr. Vargo. I just want to let other parents know the potential hazards and always check what medication is being given to your children.

We started going to Alpine Pediatrics when we moved to Lehi after hearing great things about them and specifically Dr. Whiting. My baby started having serious issues at just a few weeks old. Dr Whiting tried 2 or 3 different acid reflux medications on him and when none of them were helping and my baby was only getting worse he said "I wish I had a magic wand to fix it but I dont. He will grow out of it. Good luck" and sent us on our way. Very frustrating. We went back to our previous pediatrician down in Orem at Utah Valley Pediatrics and Dr Wynn was such a huge help and worked with us until we figured out that my baby had very severe allergies to dairy and soy and several other things. Working with Dr Whiting left me frustrated and in tears because I had no clue how to help my baby and he didnt help us at all. He kept dismissed my concerns about thinking my baby had issues with dairy making me think I was stupid for thinking that. After we got blood on his diaper we gave up on him helping us. Wish we could have found the problem sooner instead of my baby suffering for months. Nice enough doctor if you have a healthy baby I guess. Two stars because the staff was nice and the office was clean.

Recently, their level of care has gone down. I love seeing Beverly Vargo here, but after today, I think I will go to another Pediatric doctor. Their new staff seems uninformed and unprofessional. My daughter had a fever after she got their immunizations there and no one reminded me that fevers are common after immunizations, and they did not talk about any after effects that I should look out for. After calling in to see if I should be concerned, I could not reach a nurse on the nurses line after 30 minutes. I had no idea how long I would be in the queue, and there was no opinion to leave a message with a nurse. The office staff could not do anything for me either and was unable to tell me how the nurses queue worked or how long it would be to talk to someone. Needless to say, being able to talk to someone POST doctors appointment about symptoms is very important to a mother. Luckily, I was able to talk to a nurse through my insurance provider and will now find a new office to be visiting.

I would give zero stars If Possible. Horrible Experience! If you have your own opinion on vaccinating your children on a different timeline than what Alpine Pediatrics thinks is the best for your children. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.! They are rude and very UN-professional. They think there way is the only way. WHAT A JOKE. The Doctor told me to my face that they will no longer treat our children anymore! SERIOUSLY. Told me to find another Pediatrician! I thought "is this doctor serious?" Yea then we sat and waited for an hour for one shot for my 3 year old! I had three kids in the room with me. I had to go out and find someone to giver her the shot. We have been going for a couple years because of the location and never have we been impressed. Go somewhere else and find a Pediatrician that actually cares about your opinions as parents. You know your children the best!

I had an awful experience with my 3 month old here. I took him in for his well visit and had some concerns about him crying ALL THE TIME. The doctor told me it was nothing, its normal and so on. I told them he has this rattle in his chest and Im concerned about it. The doctor just told me it will go say and not to worry about it. I then told him I only wanted to give him one vaccine at todays visit and he went off about how all the vaccines are important I need to have them done all at once. My baby was still screaming non stop so I took him into a different pediatrician and turns out he has strep throat! Im so upset that this doctor wouldnt even listen to my concerns. And the fact that they have him all vaccines while he was so sick. This issue could haven been resolved, instead my poor baby has been suffering with an upset tummy. I will never go back here.
